Just out of curiosity, are the other weapons (SMG/Spiker) like this also? That would explain how the dual wielding seems to be so balanced. Any way, I'm not against it I suppose since it definitely is needed, but it still seems silly.

But the pistol definitely needs some tweaks. Right now I just can't imagine a situation in which I'd ever pick up a pistol unless I combo'ed it with a plasma pistol.

Edit: I didn't realize that when playing, but now that I think about it, the pistol sound effect doesn't seem much different at all from Halo 1 or 2. With all that kick it has, a more powerful sound would suit it nicely. Maybe its just a placeholder?

Anyone else having people just joining games but doing nothing? I had a team rockets (blasting off again!) on Vallhalla and two of my teammates were just sitting there. I can't believe we only lost by 8, considering the other team had a free double kill every time they found them. Also, team rockets on valhalla = fun! Nothings more satisfying then jumping in the air on a mancannon and shooting rockets down onto your opponent.

Every single game of BTB will have at least one person disconnect. In addition, there's bound to be 2 people not playing or popping wheelies in the mongoose and killing each other.

I dont think it will stay this way because at this point the Pistol is equivalent to tossing a penny at the opponent.

So, who wants to complain again so we can find out what the prize is? This has gotten me all sorts of excited! Oh, and please don't be mad at me Frankie. Look, I said: "...in its current state"! :)

Edit: I'm actually not really liking the full visor armor - but that's ok, I'll just use the standard armor.

Is the armor in the custom games? Or are we just talking about the images in gamepro?

Does it involve forcing their head into the Halo 3 LE helmet?
 
Maybe I've been getting hosed, but it usually takes more than one shot from the Carbine/BR after a frag grenade.

And I think those Haze looking helmets look absolutely ridiculous :P

You're getting hosed.

if you land the grenade right, a couple straggling AR shots will bring him down immediately

One really well placed Grenade and a BR burst is a really clean kill. The grenade placement needs to be perfect though.

And with all this Spartan customization I get the feeling that a Halo RPG might not be something unfathomable in the future.

The gamepro scans just make me freak the **** out. I love the variants and that brute chopper is awesome. With all this info leaking now.. I wonder what's left to reveal?

I haven't played in a few days so what's going on? Is it a hack or something?

I dunno. That's part of the reason why I'm staying away from the scans and Gamepro info. I don't want to know EVERYTHING that's going to be in the game 3 months before release.

I'm just curious as to how people are playing custom games.
 
I actually liked the SPI armor ever since I saw it on the cover of the book - I hope (and I'm sure they'll be an option anyways) that the arms & the rest of the SPI armor will be an option as well too...

Another reason why I love the helmet is how much it reminds me of the Snow Pirate suit you get in Lost Planet once you hit level 50 online... cool stuff...

Also, I'm surprised no one has brought up the similarities between that second helmet and OSDT's helmet - it's as if Bungie heard our cries to use them (how couldn't they have heard us?) in MP, and gave us the most balanced option - I know I'll be rocking that one for a while, as much as I love the standard helmet...

I wonder how come they went with the more-angular look of the Plasma Sword now - I noticed that right away in the Brute ViDoc and just thought it was an early version, but it's like this in the Custom Games and in the GamePro as well... especially since it was rouder in Halo 2...
 
Question about the sword: have they implemented some sort of new nerf where it doesn't kill even when doing the auto lock on swipe?

What would be the point of that? If you're locked on, you kill them if it connects...
