It happened to me quite a lot from the several customs I've played. Maybe just host advantage?

That's the same thing I said. It sure does makes a target to aim for though. :D

Now, the other shown helmet on the other hand. I'll definitely be rocking that when the time comes.
 
Got to play with the Pistol in some Custom Games tonight and what can I say...It acts like a pistol should. As a decent back up weapon. It's not the Pistol that everyone loves from Halo: CE, although aesthetically it looks like it. It fires slowly, but if you aim for the head you can drop someone in one clip. And with some skill and luck you can do it from a ways away. But it's not the sniping Pistol from Halo: CE. And it's definitely slower than the Magnum in Halo 2.

please patch the custom game thing cause its impossible to get games in matchmaking now.

about a third fewer people play matchmaking now after the custom game thing was revealed.

this beta is about matchmaking testing afterall.

I agree, I literally have not had a single friend on (when I've looked) the beta since that got out that has not been in a custom game. Either patch it or completely open it up. And when I play with random dudes now in post lobbies they're all trying to recruit people for custom games. ****ing lame.

Lately I've been so busy I haven't been able to play Halo 3 nearly as much as I used to. Hopefully my schedule lets up a bit and I can get more games in. Anyway, when I do get on, hit me up with a custom invite, it'd be greatly appreciated.

BTW- I've been doing some cleaning on my FL, so whoever here at GAF who isn't my friend yet- send me an invite, and hopefully we can play some time.

I was playing with my friend and changed it so that getting a kill gave you -10 and dying added +5 to your score. It was funny. :lol

Please Bungie don't make the Elites inferior to the Spartan models in MP this time. I want to use a kick ass custom Elite.

I preferred the Elite model in MP when H2 first came out but then was forced to change to Spartan due to the Elites being easy sniper fodder and other differences.

Any other Elite fans here? :P
 
Aww man, After this week I was going to try and play my housemates beta again for a bit but i'll pass for now, sounds like its a mess online right now with the custom games taking over.

The problem is that the Elite was weaker because it was an elite - nothing but the shape of the elite led to that, and I'm not sure how they would fix that without it not being an elite any more. I'm wondering how they will solve this problem in Halo 3, but I'm thinking that maybe instead of the elites they are just giving us a bunch of different Spartan armors. I'd probably prefer that too - elites always seemed silly in MP to me, not sure why, I guess I'm just a customization Nazi. :lol
 
i don't think frankie iterated various forms of the word 'iterate' often enough in that next-gen interview. i would've liked to see another couple iterations.

in other news i just went down a rank because my wireless network is shitting the bed today

I totally misread his post. I'm back from two days on the beach and can now confirm that prolonged exposure to the sun - the kind that sears my flesh, just the way I don't like it - causes brain cell loss.

I haven't been to the beach in years-- not since I provoked and was (deservedly) attacked by the biggest damn goose I have ever seen. That and here in California it's always too damn hot all the time. The mental scars of that encounter are with me to this day.

And if there really is any Campaign info in the new Gamepro, I will most definitely not go looking for it. I already feel bad enough about spoiling the customizable armor and the Brute Chopper for myself. :(

I doubt theres anything HUGE in the way of campaign. It would have been leaked by now.
