Also, I don't think Bungie would put out any "spoilers". My personal definition of spoilers is anything not officially released by Bungie or MS through media or marketing. If Bungie is comfortable talking about stuff before the game comes out, I'm comfortable reading/watching it.

I'm staying the living hell out of leaks, however, which is why I'm not planning to spend any time in customs. I want keep it fresh for the 25th.

Why when I try to play the beta all of a sudden its giving me this message... "NOT ALLOWED Some gamer profiles do not have permission to play on Xbox Live. Play as a guest or play local to this Xbox 360 console." WTF.

Edit: Nvm fixed it somehow

If you were playing another game with a friend before hand he might be logged in or you still got a guest account running in the background.
 
Boy, Bungie really dropped the ball again with these custom games. Why do I spawn with an AR in a Rockets game? Why is the sword nerfed so hard. Why is dual wielding pistols so crappy? Banshee sucks. Wraith sucks. Invisible people suck. Ninjas suck. I guess 300 MB of the download was for extra FAILED.

i have a question.

if i go buy crackdown today, can i still get into the beta ?

another thing. for how long the beta will run ?
 
So the new armors in MP are supposed to be from all the other versions of the Spartan armor that they talk about in the books. For example the SPI amor. My question is that arent these other versions of the spartan armor supposed to be weaker? Will I get a weaker shield and increased agility if I wear an SPI armor in MP. If the new armors do not alter gameplay I will be happy because I would not want anything to break the balancing of the game. However, it kinda sucks that the MP does not respect the fiction.
 
I'm guessing for gameplay reasons they'll probably have the same shield strength as the other armours, Just like how the Elites are the same in mutiplayer. Still, makes me wonder if and how they're gonna be used in the SP and if they did appear it would make alot of dem Halo novel fans happy.
 
Ninja CTF is when the flag carrier has increased player movement but to compenstate your health/armour is reduced to something like 25%. It's pretty crazy.

I'm sure they are well aware of the balancing concerns. I just don't see Bungie giving the armors special attributes. Doesn't seem Halo-like.

Make sure to look for the Halo 3 sticker on the Crackdown box. Only the first shipment copies have them, as far as I know; there are some Beta copies at my Best Buy right now, but the ones there in April were not [again, as far as I know].

Bungie has been very careful in the past with their IP. I doubt they'll just throw in all these variants without some back story to go along with it that explains the different armor types and how they fit into the Halo universe.

What am I missing? What custom games? What's going on?

My gamertag is Laki4V if anybody can invite me to custom games but what kind of things are available? Will Bungie eventually allow people that are completely useless (like me) to access these things?

Look on your friends list. If you see somebody in the Halo 3 beta, choose their name. If it says custom game, go in there and then leave. When you leave their game, it'll take you back to a custom game lobby.
 
I was playing Crazy King the other day, I had the hill but it switched locations just as some red team guy was gonna contest it. When it switched, the guy just stopped shooting and gave me an easy kill. I didn't understand why he did that until I realized he spawned right by the new hill and I had to drudge across the map :lol

Could be worse, there is a homeless street performer outside of my office that has a saxaphone from which he plays Sanford and Son 365 days a year. You can hear him loud and clear from the 17th floor.
 
I rented Crackdown to get in on the beta while I still can. Just played a game, and I feel so out of sorts with all these new weapons and grenade types.

Could someone explain to a Halo 2 vet the significant changes?

Also, is it possible for me to set up a custom game by myself so I can get acquainted with the new maps without being killed?
