B crouch R only works when you melee with the pistol sideways, so it's pretty worthless anyhow.

RP never drops, it is like experience points and unrelated to your level.

You lose RP if you quit out of matches. And any ranks past Lt (?) require a combination of skill rank and RP. My point was that since it let me keep my rank once I dropped my skill rank below what the original requirement was, I wondered if it would let me keep it if I dropped my RP below what the original requirement was as well.
 
Mlg can go to hell, a bunch of elitist pricks who use exploits that developers themselves say are cheating, I seriously hate people like you, i've encountered plenty of ya online in halo and gears.
 
okayyyyyyy, melee crouch shoot is in no way the same effect as BXR.

BXR was as quick as you could pull it off, but the time of the crouch animation gives plenty of time to jump outta the way.

melee crouch shoot should not be removed.

developers create the exploits through their own coding and then dont bother to patch it.

plus good mlg players would destroy you without exploits if necessary.
 
The developers don't put them there, they just don't realize they are there when shipping. If the developer says don't do it, you shouldn't be doing it, it is not within the normal realms of the games parameters.

As for the other part, it's video games, get over yourself.

Actually, the glitches exist because of the games parameters. Hell, BXR was worthless until Bungie first patched the game.

no you need to stop with stupid arguements.

if i buy a game they shipped then I should damn well better be allowed to do whatever i want with it. i wouldnt be using exploits if they were patched or better yet, never put there in the first place.

the second someone gets the advantage over me because theyre using a unpatched exploit then i will do the same.

i dont know how a developer can call an exploit a cheat when its written within the code of the game. either fix the exploit or find a way to ban every single person who uses it, otherwise you have no reason to complain about a bug you created.

They said they literally couldn't patch it in Halo 2, they would have had to rewrite game code. And I've played MLG people in random games in Halo 2, and I freely admit they usually kick my ass, but there is no doubt I have lost many kills against them because they BXR, then they talk shit in the lobby. If they're going to write it off and use it then whatever, but keep that shit in MLG games.

When I play my games I want to play them legitimately so I can enjoy myself, not have some punk bitches running around cheating and thinking that they have 'mad skills'

Hopefully bungie is a lot more attentive to banning the cheesers and fixing the exploits.

Funny, back when I played this stuff 'for real' glitching in anyway would get you kicked out of the league/clan/whatever, MLG is apparently a place for shitty players who have to use cheats to win.

No, we widened the skill gap. That was needed. Also, BXR, BXB, and YY are not "instant kills".

Why do all of you think the glitches are gamebreakers? These guys really do have "mad skills" and would beat you without the glitches. The glitches allow a more competitive game where everyone has different BXRs and BXBs. I am not as good with BXRing as other MLG players so where there was no skill gap, there now is one.

So let me get this straight, MLG players are nice people and godly at this game, they use their cheating to widen the competition while playing against.. these lesser players. They do this to HELP us of course.

my point is that mlg players play customs and stay away from "average" players.

if you encounter a BXR in team slayer or any matchmaking gametype its probably cause one of your "average" buddies has acquired the skill of the BXR.

MLG players are perhaps the worst assholes on Xbox Live.

Some jealousy obviously is involved in my hatred towards them... but its mostly the style and manner they play and the way they behave as they play and after they kick your ass.

hey kad guess what, I dont give a shit if I get 'owned' (fun word btw), I jump on and play. Sure I try to win but if I lose legitimately I don't care. MLG players could be 100x my own skill and if they totally destroy me, I don't CARE, it doesn't bother me one bit in fact.

But when I lose to cheating, I stop enjoying the game because I refuse to do it.

Yeah, the random people I encounter in Halo 2 MM with "MLG" in their tags who completely destroy the entire opposing team then talk shit about how they ****ing suck I'm sure are average dudes. It happens often enough where it pisses me off, even when they're on my team. I'm sure most MLG people are cool people or whatever (I know a couple), but that doesn't make it any less irritating when it happens. And by often I mean on an average longer play session (say 4-6 hours), it'll happen at LEAST once, consistently. It could also be people ****ing around and pretending to be MLG people as well sometimes, but that doesn't change the fact we have to deal with BXR'ing.

Rattlehead: It's an extremely well known fact that you lose 2 RP if you don't finish a match (quit out before it's over). Try it yourself if you don't believe me. It's possible what he meant by that post was that you CAN lose RP, but you don't lose what you gained with the RP, which in my case would be the Captain ranking. I'm not sure, that was the point of my post :P. It is possible to lose RP, it happened to me 3 games in a row where the game lagged me and a friend out each time but it counted as a quit :( I was pissed because I had 99 RP and it dropped me to 93, and I had only been 1 RP away from 100 which gives you whatever rank (Lt I think).

People, and I mean all people, not just MLG players, who use the glitches, have an inherent, unplanned advantage. If everyone in the game agrees it is fair, then have at it and enjoy. This is common in tournaments where the rules are known to all.

If the other players do not agree, or do not know about it, then it is cheating. And everybody knows it is. So you're advocating cheating because it is fun for the cheats.
