Oh, I'll be taking the train and stopping off at browntown, regardless, but yeah, I'm certain that there is going to be a major single player blowout tonight on b.net. And by certain, I mean very doubtful. But it could happen. But probably won't. Would be nice though. Even if it's far fetched. Don't get your hopes up. MEGATON!

Playing the Halo 3 beta, reading First Strike again, seeing Halo 3 articles...God damn it makes me want a Halo3 Zune to take to school with me. Halo favor strikes again. And I thought that I had moved past that phase of my life.

Too bad Max backed down, I would have liked to hear that he and his team got thrashed. I remember when counter strike was released for xbox and with it came the keyboard and mouse adapter. The PC heads were trolling very hard that day; the hairiest, and the recognized best of the bunch made a challenge against any controller user. I wouldn't be telling the story if the controller guy lost, but the aftermath on the boards was awesome.

The scrapped 2003 E3 demo aside, we didn't see anything on Halo 2's campaign until Outskirts and Metropolis were shown to EGM the issue before they reviewed it. I'm expecting a similar coverage plan for Halo 3 (sans E3 demo). I'm not expecting to see much of Campaign (if anything) until August.

This is true. And we should have a pretty steady supply of new info to chew on (new Gamepro, OXM for starters) as launch approaches. I'm content even if we never see campaign before release. I think they're keeping it under wraps for a reason (several, actually). And pleasant surpises are the best kind. :D

I wouldn't mind hearing a tiny bit more info because I'm psyched for Halo 3's Campaign but I definitely don't want any spoilers. Halo 3 is the end and I want to be blown away by it when it hits.
 
I hope halo 3 can live up to that 9 minute trailer from halo 2, that got me so excited only to find that nothing in halo 2 could match it :(

I think we'll see some of the battle right before that Ark sequence. I have a feeling that the event in the announcement trailer is a significant plot point and we won't see anything beyond that. The desert battle has been hinted at many times (Starry Night ad, Desert Brigade artwork). If we see anything, I hope it's that.

I agree. They'll likely be a few levels leading up to the Arc which will probably be 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through the game. And it'll be a major turning point. Maybe.

Yeah, that sounds perfect.
 
The Ark is just something for the marketing, it needs a huge symbol, and that's what The Ark is. Just like with Halo, all the levels will be varied. I suspect there will be some urban combat, we've also seen a jungle level, and I think The Ark level itself, will be the very last one.

That could happen, but don't we know that the announcement trailer happens roughly 1/3 into the game? He could always return though. Epic ending sounds alright to me.:D
 
Just played Halo 2.

1st time i've actually finished the game on my own, i beat the game in Co-Op 1st time around, and then never got around finishing it on my own (just like Gears). Because it just ain't as fun, you can't beat Co-op.

But i did it, and i actually loved it, i got WAY more out of the story this time around.

Can't wait for Halo 3 now.

Only one beef....work on the cutcenes animation Bungie....please.

Bungie has explained the (slight) disparity many times. The E3 trailer is still what you can expect (at the minimum) from Campaign. Relax.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly how some people think the graphics aren't up to par, it looks exactly how I imagined Halo MP in next gen, but oh well. I fully expect single player to look better with that said though...

I think the overall quality of his questions and his general lack of knowledge about Halo sort of give it away.

It's almost like he was a fan or something...especially the part about the Biel rumor...I've never heard that before.

If I hear one more complaint about the graphics in the beta that aren't even fully representative of the final product, I'm going to send someone a surprise next time I see them online.
 
Good updates from things found in the beta. I second all these points.

9. Vetoing casually – Think twice before vetoing a game you only half dislike. Murphy’s Law states that the next choice will be worse.

7. Talking trash to teammates – Yelling at strangers is bad enough, but do you think yelling at your compatriots will make them play better? Drink some chocolate milk and shut your cretinous noisehole.

6. Blasting your music at us – Yes, you’re hardcore. You love mad rhymes and phat beats. We don’t care. Turn it off. We already muted you, you spaz.

5. Insulting the room before the teams are chosen – Now I don’t want to cooperate with you.

3. Racism, abuse, foul language – We muted you already. So now you’re just a sad idiot yelling into a vacuum. Actually, go right ahead. Maybe a relative will smack you or get you the help you need.

Holy Crap: 1. Going to the bathroom while playing – this gem was found on a Halo 3 post in another forum. Names have been hidden to protect the guilty:

I never quit, but sometimes I have to poop, so I take the controller into the toilet with me. I move the sticks and press buttons, but I can't be held responsible for my actions during these brownouts.

That is a nice screen. And people say Halo 3 doesn't look better than Halo 2...Shame on them. And of course you can expect the Single-Player to look loads better than the beta which is an old build to begin with.

Edit: The plasma pistol is actually one of my favorite weapon models too, looks so clean and smooth.
