The Halo 3 Beta Thread

I was cracking up at the Crackdown loading sequence. By the time he grabbed the spike grenade I had tears in my eyes. The n00b combo sequence....my god. I think I woke up the kids. :lol

I'm sure it's used for other stuff, but that voice is a computer voice that speaks stuff that you type in, Ventrilo is where I first heard it.

Ppsh shotgun is for wimps, and that I can hardly kill with it when I use it because I just get smg'd and melee'd in the time it takes to shoot a shell or two at a worth while range.
 
How's the best way to avoid missile pod fire when in the Banshee? Or fire the missile pod at one for that matter. Ground vehicles aren't a problem.
I get taken out pretty quickly no matter what I try but I can sometimes fire all missiles and not take a Banshee out.
 
After the beta ends. Will all the data on Bungie.net be purged? Or, will they leave it? I understand that ranks will be reset of course.

If the crackdown glitch never happened, tomorrow would be the last day of the beta!

As it stands, we still only have a few more days left. :(

In order for a ranking system to work (and by work I mean largely to stop assholes from de-ranking) some people have to get bit in the ass. If the small percentage of people get bit in the ass and it stops most of de-levelers then the SYSTEM WORKS

But that's exactly the problem of the up/down leveling - the people who get promoted due to a couple of wins will then become the people always losing.

So after a couple of wins, I go to a situation where I always lose and still won't go down to a rank where I'd lose, say, half of the time and win half of the time.

This really affects the fun you have with the game and I can't really imagine why it needs to be this way. Wouldn't going down in the military rank be enough to discourage purposeful downleveling? Or a feedback system that actually is tied with game saves where Bungie can view the game in case where you are purposefully downleveling and ban you?
 
:lol Just had an awesome custom game on Snowbound, the gravity was zero so we were jumping around like crazy, and the speed was set to maximum, we were spawned with Rocket Launchers and Swords so we were jumping around and running shooting each other with Rockets :lol
 
The bit that cracks me up every time is when he is walking with the Gears of War box, then the next thing you see is it flying across the room into the cupboard, and all he says is
"bitch"

i thought it ends june 6th, with the 4 day extension changing it to June 10th?

Most computer hardware stores, I got one from about 4 years ago (SD only) for like £40, now they are much better quality and sometimes cheaper.
 
I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad the Beta is ending. I've had my fill of all of the maps that we have and the gametypes on them. It was meant to be a tease for Halo 3 and give Bungie some information that can really help polish the final game.

I have a backlog of games that I'd like to get to and I can't seem to do that with the Beta right now. It's time for it to come to an end and let the countdown begin until Sept. 25.

I don't think they had anything to do with it. It was a Microsoft problem, fixed by their Live team.

Yeah. Wow. This is the biggest thread I've seen on GAF, ever. Ha, and it's just for the Beta. I can barely imagine how crazy things will be around here and elsewhere during the time leading up to and right after H3's launch.

A new thread wouldn't get anywhere near as big. Heck, we had like 50 pages just from the day delay. :lol

I'd be surprised if the Official Halo 3 Thread is as big as this one. A lot has happened between this thread being started and right now that helped lead to this thread hitting 16k.

There were about 4,000 posts during the Crackdown delay alone. If the beta had come out as scheduled, I suspect it would be closer to 12-13k.
 
16000 huh? How do you guys feel about BXR and the fact that I pwn n00bs with it all the time? Sucks that it's not available in the beta, I hope they fix it before September.
