They are not revealing singleplayer. They were in the same playsession at Bungie that Gamepro and a number of other publications were at. Gamepro landed the cover story (as EGM did with the Alpha) but it will likely be the same stuff.

Yeah I was thinking about that. A quick search on the Toronto Sun website yielded no results, but Newspaper websites are never well put together. And I don't trust the Bungie boards.

Besides, I think we should start fresh. I was going to re-use the two gamertag listings and post them right after the OP for the Halo 3 thread. That will prevent repeating the 10 pages of gamertags we had to start this one. I'll probably hold off on starting it until a couple weeks before launch.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. Besides, I think the thread would be better served with more discussion of playing the game. There will be plenty of developments between now and shortly before launch that will deserve seperate threads.

We've got a week of the Beta left, but I'm kind of wrapping up my playtime with it. Mostly because I'm ready to hold off and just wait for the main game. I'm satisfied. I'll still hop on a few nights between now and the end, though.

I'd put the Assault Rifle and Needler in place of the Sniper Rifle and Rocket Launcher, respectively. And get those Spike Grenades in there somewhere. Hell, there's so many great weapons in there I don't think I can choose just five. :D

Hey Ghaleon, maybe you should create two separate official threads, one for multiplayer, and one for single player. I'm sure they're eventually going to be completely different discussions.
 
I'm not saying spoilers will be leaked...I hope they won't be. But remember if they are, don't spoil ANYTHING for anyone else. Either don't post the shit or use spoiler tags.

I think the official thread will breach 10k. There's still a lot of stuff that Bungie aren;t showing us: New weapons, new vehicles, new enemies, new levels and I'm sure some of it will leak before launch.

Plus they'll be 4k posts on launch day purely about whether it's good or shit with the bannings and trollings that follow. Bung in the multiplayer and DLC long-tail and it may reach 16k by the end of it's lifetime.

It is not surprising to me if there are battles elsewhere, other than Earth.

Remember Frankie said they'll finish all the battles started in Halo 1.

Why would that be any different if it was one big thread? Spoilers had nothing to do with me backing the proposal, my reason for 2 threads would be just to keep the 2 entirely different topics separated.

Yeah I suspected that that was your concern but even if the majority did it like that it would be easier for everyone if there was a big MP thread you could use for matchmaking etc next to the SP discussion. And I'm sure that the risk of (accidental) spoilers is way smaller this way too. The chance of some idiot forgetting the spoiler tags in an SP discussion are way bigger than some idiot purposefully spoiling the campaign in a MP only thread.

I vote for 2 threads as well. I'm sure I'll be in and out of the campaign between bouts of MP. Of course it does not stop the idiots you run into during MP sessions screaming "Dood, didja get to the part where Cortana kills the Arbiter and then makes out with Master Chief?! That was HOT!" :D

is this game supposed to have motion blur?

i have a 8ms lcd and am wondering if the motion blur is caused by the game, or whether 8ms lcds simply arent good enough for gaming.

bought this god damn thing just for Halo 3 and now it looks as if i'll probably be going back to CRT or possibly get a 22" 2ms monitor.

kinda annoying with the motion blur that i'm forced to up my sensitivity to 8 just to have the same sense of view as i did with 4 sensitivity in Halo 2 on a CRT.

I wanted to pick up Halo 2 MP but that wont allow me to do most of the Matchmaking without buying the new maps. Which I can't, due to the lack of a creditcard. Bitter tears I tell you.

I hope they have some nice surprises for us this week, I'm sure gonna miss the Beta.

Shadowrun! There's Shadowrun and The Darkness demos hitting in June. I have to look at the release calendar for the rest of the summer. We all know what we'll be playing in September though.

8ms samsung here and at first you will notice an ever so slight blur due to the nature of LCD but its in no way as bad as you said there, maybe the screen itself is not suited for gaming very well.

I'm not sure I could go back to Halo 2 honestly...and this coming from someone who only played Halo 2 online before the beta hit :P

i have this

was part of the 2006 samsung line and as i remember, designed specifically for the xbox 360.

i do complain alot about even the slightest distort in image cause my experience of playing Halo 2 on my sony 24" wega crt was amazing. should have never sold that thing.

oh and one more thing, this is another question relating to either the game or my tv: on high ground heading toward sniper cave, as you enter everything is extremely dark, like uber dark that an opposing player is almost camouflaged in the shade.

is this an HDR effect of going from pure sunshine to a dark area, is the area simply just that dark, or does no one else experience this problem and its due to my tv?

There is a Game mode that will improve the refresh rate.

The Beta got me into Halo online, I only played 1 match of Halo 2 but I think it'll keep me entertained until the summer's over. If it doesnt then there's always Shadowrun, Forza and The Darkness. Or my huge backlog.

I can see that happening. Not so much Shadowrun (lol MMarsu) that I've noticed, but the majority of people on my FL that were playing the Beta have moved on to Forza. Myself included.

I'll be back on this week though. Going out in a blaze of Beta glory!
