Unfortunately for Shadowrun Bungie set the bar too highOldMattacus said:This has been Shadowrun's plan for Summer Online domination all along...
I'm glad you had a good time with it.DD-11 said:I actually liked the Shadowrun beta. I think it's a well put-together game.
back on topic:
I've played 85 games and my k/d ratio is just over 1, but it has been brought down by the girl and my friends. :lol
Yeah. My plan was to originally go back to Halo 2 for a bit, but I don't think I'll be able to. Current plan is to fill in the gap with the Crackdown DLC (which I bought but have not played yet), the Shadowrun demo and Bioshock.DD-11 said:That goes without saying.Although the wait for final release will be all the more difficult.

Stinkles will talk about it in the Weekly Update in a few hours. Speculation was that it means there's two game discs, but he shot that down. It's just weird labeling for the early test runs - expect updated PR pics to go out sooner rather than later.Phatcorns said:Whoa, I've never seen that pic before. Why are there two game discs? I've never heard that discussed before.
While my rank hovers somewhere near Gunnery Sergeant (and likely always will), other players have played an obscene number of games, tallied an absurd numbers of kills and achieved ranks that I will only see via stalking other player profiles on the website. One of those ranks I will never see is General but SmokedYeti has he was the first player in the Public Beta with the rank.
It took longer to catch up with SmokedYeti via email than it took for him to be the first player to reach the rank of General, from the time we talked to him, he added two more stars to his Generals insignia. Turns out his rank ascension wasnt all by chance, he had a plan.
Q: Eight hundred and three games played and youre the first general in the Halo 3 Public Beta, maybe the most appropriate first question is how?
A: When I first started playing the game, I planned to maximize my levels in the match making. Once I hit a level 50 in rumble pit and team slayer, I beginning working on my RP by playing many rumble pit training matches.
GhaleonEB said:Yeah, there's three outlines there that I don't recognize. The two right above the AR on the bottom, and then to the left. VERY interesting. Nice find of the high-res version! That's one sexy box.
One is almost definitely the flamethrower.
Yep.GhaleonEB said:Stinkles will talk about it in the Weekly Update in a few hours, which thedisgruntledgamer will be posting. That's the Fuel Rod Cannon.Chinner said:Theres a weapon I can't identify which is left to this brute hammer, looks like a rifle so I'm assuming its a Brute Rifle (looks kinda like a P90 but where the sights would go theres a curv that goes upwards).
Nice find! Missed the turret on the right.Dirtbag 504 said:![]()
C). Looks preticularly interesting to me.
D). I believe is covie turrent already seen in brute doc.
lol, always love seeing the Halo scavenging in real time.Chinner said:I've cut them out, enlarged them and messed around with the brightness/contrast to make them more viewable. Hope this helps!
godhandiscen said:There is definitely 3 new weapons in there. One of them seen in the early vidoc.
Could be. I was hoping it was a Brute spear gun, myself. But a hammer is more likely, since we saw one in the Vidoc and Starry Night ad.Chinner said:I've cut them out, enlarged them and messed around with the brightness/contrast to make them more viewable. Hope this helps!
Possibly Brute Hammer?

Nah, no Spear Gun. I told Valor I thought it was just Brute Shot concept art. Would've been cool and maybe I'm wrong.GhaleonEB said:Could be. I was hoping it was a Brute spear gun, myself. But a hammer is more likely, since we saw one in the Vidoc and Starry Night ad.
These look like final (or near final) images, the same that are on the halo3.com site weapon and vehicle profiles. I don't think they would include concept art for one, and such accurate images for others. It's definately either a melee based weapon or a long-range one. If the Brutes do indeed have a full weapon sandbox, it could be their version of the sniper rifle. They have their own grenade (Spike), close range machine gun (Spiker Rifle) and rocket launcher (Brute Shot) - they just need a melee, mid-range and long range weapon for a fully fleshed out weapon sandbox.Mr Vociferous said:Nah, no Spear Gun. And here I thought Friday couldn't get any better.![]()
GhaleonEB said:Okay, it's not the Brute Hammer. One of the Zune concept art pieces has the Chief with that weapon slung over his shoulder. The profile matches exactly.
Yup, that's it. Look at the profile of the part on his shoulder - it matches up perfectly.CreepingDea7h said:Can anyone link me to this supposed piece of Zune art? Please?

What the hell is that?Chinner said:I've cut them out, enlarged them and messed around with the brightness/contrast to make them more viewable. Hope this helps!
Possibly Brute Hammer (looks like its not)

Isn't that the Brute shot? Structure and placement is basically the same and Bungie wouldn't implement weapons that look very similair.

I dont know about you, but I refuse to go back to a game in which I start with the stupid SMG. Halo 3 has made me see the faults of Halo 2, and has raised the bar for what I expect of a shooter.Cerrius said:I'm curious about those who say they can "never go back to Halo 2" after playing the beta. What exactly about the beta has proven to be such a big leap for you guys?
I can still perfectly go back to Halo 2 and have a fun time. Hell, I've been doing just that during the beta. The only problems I've had are with the x button reload :lol

It is in Halo 1 PC. Obviously they have looked at those stats. Plus it isnt like Bungie cannot balance things on its own anymore.Nino said:I'm going out on a limb here but isn't it kinda odd to not include a weapon such as a flamethrower in the Beta? I mean, such a unique weapon would require a lot of balancing and the Beta would be perfect for that. Same for the Brute Hammer.

The primary purpose of the Beta wasn't balance testing, it was back-end infastructure, matchmaking and party systems, performance, etc. The last few Updates talked about the internal balance testing going on. It looked like they were gathering data on it, but they definately held back on the weapon sets. Bungie and their secrets, I tell ya.Nino said:I'm going out on a limb here but isn't it kinda odd to not include a weapon such as a flamethrower in the Beta?
