I only managed to figure out that I could actually get in yesterday, but the twenty or so games I've played since then have been awesome. If only I was not such a nonce and had figured it out earlier.

I've been hearing variations of that theme a lot lately. "Tip of the iceberg". A "small taste". A "sample". A "very limited version of". I've had this feeling the Beta was crafted to be fun, but give away as few actual features as humanly possible. I'm actually afraid of what this game is going to do to my social life this fall. :lol

Glad to hear it. I know there will be a lot more for retail and you guys have said this is just part of what will be available then. I wasn't saying they wouldn't be there later on. I just want to know how many road kills I have like everyone else. Now I'll never know. T_T
 
Oh, and in regards to the "how to deal with quitters" discussion a few pages back: while I'd love to see a penalty for quitters, in team games, my bigger concern isn't so much the fact that someone quit, it's that no one else gets to fill the slot. I'd love, love, LOVE if matchmaking had an option in team based games for "Join New Games? Join Games in Progress?", where you could jump into the middle of a game if a slot opend up because of a quitter. While it's very likely you could come into a horrible situation, or come in at the last 5 seconds of a game, when it gets down to 4vs1 or 8 vs 2, wouldn't it be nice to have at least 1 other person come in and help out? I don't know about other people, but I'd have no problem dropping into the middle of a match like that to help someone out. I'd love the option, in fact.

Weird. I got a unreadable disk error while playing H3. The odd thing is I'm not running it on a disk, I access it from the demo sections cuz I got a F&F invite. I blame GOW as thats what's in my drive at the moment.

Going back to the whole push to talk issue, I wish there was a "hold to talk" option like in Counter-Strike. I have a fan above me so the mic picks up feedback from the air and the chat channel never closes after I finish talking. I also annoy people in the lobby because of the feedback so I have to mute/unmute my mic when I talk. -_-


I realize the majority will dislike this but I'm sure there's others in my situation that would appreciate something like this.

I have 2 fans going in my room and one of them is pointed directly at me, so I can relate. SoCal heat ftl! I have to push unmute > dpad > *say whatever > mute every time I say something to the team. :P That was part of the reason why I would have preferred no button to talk so I'd just push mute. ;) Knowing that it's a lag issue, I've let that go, though. Steady ping is much more important.

I would say we're in the minority if there wasn't always someone with bg noise in the lobby. Also, I would like for it not to show me as talking when I toggle mute on and off. I hit mute, then people are like "what did you say?" because the little speaker icon shows up. Then, the process continues like so:

unmute > say "nothing" > mute
then they're like "what was that last part? you cut out"
unmute > say "..nothing.... > mute
"No, really what did you say?"
unmute > say "I didn't say anything...really..." > mute

Continue 'till abbott and costello's lawyers come to my house and break my mic.

I'll look for you. There's a lot of guys who want to play with Frankie and Luke, I'm sure. If I'm lucky enough to get a game or two in with'em I'll take off after that so others have the pleasure of teabagging them, and hang with GAFers the rest of the night. You're on my list so I'll watch for you.
