Would have preferred the one-sheet to either of these covers, but whatever.

At least we dont buy BDs to look at the covers, so Ill get over it pretty fast.
yea i think the cover is shit personally.

Makes no mention of aspect ratios besides 2.40:1, so it would appear Nolan's desire to have the IMAX shots interspersed was [thankfully] axed.

Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition - Spring 2009

I got Sleeping Beauty today and there was a trailer for Pinocchio before the feature film. I am excited for another great Blu-Ray release..Sleeping Beauty is gorgeous!

How?

Godfather 1 looks very very good. Easily better PQ than Blade Runner(course i never jumped on that band wagon), but not as good looking at 2001.

I was lucky enough to find a person I can get movies from early..thats how I got Iron Man..and I should be getting The Happening by Tuesday.

Why no commentaries? ARGHHHH. I don't care if they're forced to do it, I want to listen. I honestly don't give a shit about any extras except commentaries.

Also, Academy Award screeners should have blu-ray players, that's pretty sad.

My Godfather and Ocean's trilogies arrived today, woohoo!

Was Sleeping Beauty or Pinocchio in widescreen or were they shot in 4:3 back then?

watched my copy of THE FOUNTAIN last night and talk about mehish transfer. I'd say its C-tier. The spaceman sequence has substantial colour shift/grain / sequence. Very disappointing. :(

Man . . . I'm so dissapointed. Fry's only has some HD-DVDs for $9.99 this weekend. Cut them prices! They have a few decent Blu-Rays for $13.99 though.

Sleeping Beauty is very, very widescreen. Its proper aspect ratio is 2.55:1.
It was chopped down to 2.2:1 for theaters that couldn't show Super Technirama but could show regular 70mm.
Pinocchio is Academy ratio, like the first several Disney animated features, so it will be 4:3 on home video.
EDIT: Looks like the Blu-Ray is at the proper framing. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Some guy on HD Digest posted his copy of Sleeping Beauty HD.

Holy shit x2! The detail is mind blowing. I grew up watching this (and many other Disney films) on a VHS I had probably played well over a few hundred times. This is like a revelation. I had no idea how detailed this film was.

Fuck, I want more! Gimme 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Pete's Dragon, Great Mouse Detective, Pinocchio (thankfully it's next), Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Robin Hood, Peter Pan, Swiss Family Robinson, Sword in the Stone, The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, The Brave Little Toaster, Beauty and the Beast, DuckTales the Movie, Aladdin, Mulan, The Emperor's New Groove, Lilo & Stitch NOW!

OMG the colours!!!!! O.o

Walt Disney yet again proves why should all move to higher def.

all of disney's 2D animated films should make it to HD + INCREDIBLES+NEMO. :( High Def is the future baby.

The one 2D film I'd kill for however is not Disney, its dreamworks PRINCE OF EGYPT. I fucking love it.

btw finished THE FOUNTAIN - the colour issues do lessen as the film goes on and its still fucking fantastic. The spacemen sequence is still gorgeous.

Cant wait till sleeping beauty comes out, i dont think my niece has seen it.

Where are the haters now saying animation wouldnt see any improvement in hd? Simpsons movie, and now a classic catalog title show that isnt true.

those Sleeping Beauty pics won't load for me. Hell, the whole page won't load. anywhere else I can see them?

I'm not quite sure if its a problem with you or if it was just down for a few minutes. I just tried it and got the site to load up right away.

I had forgotten about Sleeping Beauty. It looks awesome. Also, add me to the list of people who would be pissed if Dark Knight switches aspect ratios mid-movie without an option for a constant aspect ratio.

I saw Love Guru. As bad as everyone was saying. Looked good, though the sound was flat. It's hard to comprehend how a film can go so wrong. One of those "painful to watch" experiences.

So fucking delighted the Dark Knight has the joker on the cover!

wat?

The only reason Love Guru was green lighted was because Mike Myers wanted to see the Leafs in the post season. :P

I don't even think Canadians even bothered. :lol

I hate the way Disney release their archive films. Why the hell are they so spaced out? It'll probably be 30 years from now before we can have a half decent Disney collection in HD or whatever's beyond HD.

They're so precious about their old stuff and getting it out to the public, whats up with that? I find it so irritating that it will probbaly be 5 years before Lion King is even considered for blu ray, and if they do Lion King it will be at the expense of aladdin or something.

Just ordered the Pirates Trilogy as seperate films, on Amazon's 3 for 2, hope I made the right call and don't end up with the version with dodgy cropping.

Damn.

Disney needs to step it up with the releases. Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio being released in such proximity is a good thing, though; they need to keep releases at this pace.

Can't wait for more Disney/Pixar goodness.

I think they plan to follow the vault release list

They released two versions?

When they all first came out they had problems where they cropped and weren't suppose to be....I think they can be sent back to Disney for replacements, but some of them are still out there.

has anyone that works at best buy, target, etc seen the boxes for the three packs like the one for 40 year old virgin and dawn of the dead? are they 3 seperate cases for the movies or is it like the die hard set where its one case? yeah im a stickler about my cases, so sue me.
