They'll do the EEs, but probably only after releasing all the theatrical versions first. I'd imagine they'll wait for 2011 when the Hobbit comes out.

I will get every. Single. One of them.

I have all the theatrical DVDs, the EEs, and the LEs.

all the matrix sequels haters - you do realise that the 1st looks the worst because the sequels had more budget and were slicker (aka translates better to HD with its nicer CG/visuals). I own the set on HD dvd and the 1st film looks exactly like I remember it on a SDtv. But the sequels; damn they just look fucking great on HD. All the detail in Revolutions in the machine city + Zion. Quite glorious to look at. The cg work in matrix one doesn't hold up as well.

I want the animatrix on HD. Basically cannot buy/watch dvds anymore here.

You don't want the Animatrix in HD?

It would be nice, but I can live without it....someday WB will wisen up and offer that seperately.

well considering its coming out as a 10th anniversary set I would imagine warner is going to be putting it thru a new process to produce a better picture than previously available. If not then I'd still rather own just the matrix and forget about the next 2 films.

processing/scanning aside, I doubt that the bluray version will much improve the BR version over the HD version. The cg won't improve nor would the inherent colouring issues.

still think matrix reloaded in an awesome sequel.. the 3rd film is a visual showcase even though it does somewhat go oTT. Both movies have SO many sequences that when you watch in HD, you go WOAH

reloaded:
free way sequence + truck sequence = OMG

revolutions:
zion invasion + neovssmith fight in the rainy city = OMFG

both are set pieces that surpass pretty much all of the action in the MATRIX.

set pieces aside when I go back and watch the last 2 films I cringe and can't watch em again. They are absolute rubbish and a couple good parts isn't a deal maker for me. especially at the price tag of 109.99 for that box set next month. I'd rather wait for the single next year.

Are the other 2 Matrix movies really not worth bothering with at all?

I mean, I quite liked the first one (not seen the others) and was interested in buying the 3 pack on Blu-ray but should I just wait for the original or get the Trilogy?

They're definitely worth watching at least once.

Reloaded has some really really good set-pieces.

There is a very good reason so many people are hating on the Matrix after the other 2 movies were released.

Watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall yesterday, it was barely funny. easily the least funny out of Superbad, Knocked Up and the 40 Year Old Virgin.

PQ was everything you'd expect from a brand new movie.

oh, bought a brand new PS3 bluray remote today - actually ordered one from playasia ages ago and it didn't show up (trying to get my money back somehow but they've been DRAGGGGiinnngg it out). anyhow BR remote for ps3. I didn't read the manual when I first got it and it didn't work out of the box. Had to quit the movie and go into system to register it to slot 7. kind of interesting I thought.

Works now. Nice to have a remote.

ENCHANTED.

haha. enjoyable. I had to stop it because its 2.47am and I'm sure the neighbours would be going WTF to the ballads. Gorgeous PQ + audio. I'm glad I bought this.

Slot 7 is the least likely to be used so that's why. I actually like that it defaults to 7 because when I leave a guitar dongle attached the system always defaults those as 1 or 2 instead of the controller I used to turn the system on.

So has anyone decided what kinds of questions they're going to make for the Iron man quizzes? I tried one last night and the second question was "what minor Marvel comic character is glimpsed in this scene?" and I was like "how the hell should I know?"

I actually thought it didnt look that great, but the movie is awesome.

Anyone here have the Kill Bill movies yet? How do they look?

wow. Superbad is a stinking piece of shit. I'm surprised someone hates FSM.

I liked Reloaded and the final installment had its moments (though not many of them).

I'll buy the trilogy when the price is right.

They look very good. It's not iron man/ no country for old men level reference material, but it's much better than the dvd...way better.

Really? Personally, I wasn't all that impressed with Iron Man. Not that it was bad, but it was just somewhat pedestrian to me visually (I'd never seen it in the theater). Kill Bill just pops and looks amazing to me. It's more the difference in style than anything else I suppose.

Just finished watching Kill Bill Vol. 2 (third time I ever watch it; theater, DVD, blu-ray. Once each).

I love Kill Bill so much, for me they're perfect in every way. My favorite Tarantino films.

I think the audio design of Iron Man was VERY lacking; at one point Iron Man flies right past the screen with an explosion behind him and you never hear the jets from IM, just the exposion. Eh?

Superbad was infinitely more funny than Forgetting Sarah Marshal, FSM didnt even feel like a comedy, just a "romantic comedy" or a chick flick at best.

And why did they feel the need to keep showing the main actors penis? Was that supposed to be funny? The only funny part was the godboy and his nympho wife.

superbad is aptly named. I found it completely unfunny

FSM however is really good. I didn't think I'd like but when I saw it, it blew me away wiht how funny it was. The receptionist chick in hawaii is incredible to look at as well. The penis joke... well, its quite funny. Apparently at more than a few showings, that garnered the biggest laugh in many sessions. It was the combination of the sound of his dick hitting the side of his legs and the visuals.

Funniest part of Sarah Marshall:
YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!

What is this FSM you speak of? I'm sold! :lol

forgetting sarah marshall. You get to see marshall's (from how I met your mother's fame) schlong. After seeing this, every time marshall and alyson hallgan (sp) talk about having sex on HIMYM, I see his dick in my mind's eye (sorta)

Admit it, you got really high before you watched it and passed out.

flying spaghetti monster needs to be in HD

:lol

the technology behind the sentinel swarm is quite amazing. i sit through the CGI presentation where the team behind the VFX talked about how they got through production. Millions and millions of sentinels in revolutions vs the 5 max you see in matrix 1.

that is why reloaded and revolutions are worth watching. amazing.

Reloaded wasn't bad at all, it had so many great action sequences and moments overall (although the discussion with the Architect seemed very forced). Revolutions just didn't jive with me for some reason, too much stupid dialogue and way over-the-top action sequences.

These weren't present in the other two movies? ._.

I was reading the Seattle PI during my lunch break today and perused through the daily Fry's ad. The HD-DVDs of Clerks 2 and Pulse are on sale for $2.99 each.

$2.99.

yeah, amazon has a TON of HD-DVDs that are like $9.99 and aren't out OR announced for BRD yet. I just have such a hard time buying for a dead format. I mean my 360 isn't going anywhere soon and my HD-DVD drive is healthy as can be... but it's just something about the format being completely dead that makes it hard to grab movies for it.

For the record, I did stop buying laserdiscs immediately upon getting into DVD fall of '97, despite the format remaining viable for about another year or so after and getting more daya and date releases from certain studios than DVD got during that time.

Woohoo Sleeping Beauty and the Omen Collection shipped today!

Thank you.

Mila Kunis being hot in the movie(damn she was) does not makith it a better movie.

meh... you guys are way out of line on Sarah Marshall. I found it quite enjoyable with some scenes (the boyfriend and the vampire musical) to be really inspired.

I don't get the hate for the 2nd & 3rd Matrix movies. I also, don't get the unabounded love of the 1st. They're all nice and fun action/sci-fi movies. I guess I just don't get it... :P

`
It is mainly based on the well supported premise that the second and the third sucked pretty badly.
The first was a nice surprise and an ok cyberpunkish film with some style points mixed in.

I think Reloaded is actually the worst but only because it had the dredgy zion bits / the shitty dance sequence and the asstacular merovingian... and oh, the architect. :lol :lol (f they secured sean connery, it might have been awesome) but...

The 3rd film is good for what is... a shameless CGI/tech showcase sploogefest. I think most people couldn't handle how the wachowskis finished the film but I had no issues with it.

Wow, I actually like Relaoded, even though it is bloated. The Architect and merovingian are cool. Nowhere near as good as the first, though.

Revolutions... well, I can barely remember the plot, it was so bad.

The second and third come off as bad "The Matrix" fan fiction to me...

(I did like the Merovingian character but in all honesty that goes more to the acting then the writing)

I liked Reloaded as an action film, but not as a Matrix sequel. Revolutions, on the other hand, just sucked in every way possible.

Maybe its because I watched it at like 4 in the morning but I enjoyed it and laughed my ass off many times. I don't see how anyone that liked Knocked up and Superbad could NOT like this movie.

I actually liked it more than both of those. It's my favorite Apatow movie.

That's because unlike many morans in this thread, you , costanza, actually have taste. It's totally the best apatow movie. Arguing over wether FSM is funny/good compared to the other 2 films is kind of like arguing over which van damme movie to watch , they are all so similar that saying one is bad means you dislike all of them. :p
