Been like that for like a month... if not longer. Still, good price, I like how WB is pricing their new releases now (most of them are $20 the week they come out in retail stores).

I can't believe I missed Lost 1-5 on Bluray for $108. What the fucking fuck.

Oh well, more incentive to wait for the giant uber 1-6 dition that probably comes out late next year.

No doubt it'll be over $200, BSG-style.

I picked up Patton for 9.99$, Monster Squad for 12.99$ and My Bloody Valentine (1981) for 12.99$ @ Best Buy today.

I cant find any reviews on My Blood Valentine for blu-ray so im wondering how good the PQ is going to be.

Anyone have any idea where the Hogwarts set actually comes from? I tried looking a bit last week to see where it was originally released but didn't really see anything concrete. If I didn't have the movies already I'd be tempted. :lol

thanks to that ebay deal, completed my pixar BD collection today with walle and bugslife
also picked up advent children, 10000bc, and enchanted
best deal ever!

netflixed planet earth
looked phenomenal but fell asleep on disc 1, twice :X
gonna stick with it to completion though

Don't know if this has been posted, but apparently the US is getting 2 versions of Red Cliff in March:

http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=3879

1. The chopped to hell Theatrical Cut
2. A 2 Disc "International" Cut which looks to actually be the FULL 288 minute Asian Cut, not the actual cut down International Cut.

Can't wait for the 2 disc version.

Bought the JP limited edition of Ponyo... What's up with crazy BD prices of japan :lol At least my GF is willing to pay half of the price so I'm not totally broke because of one fucking bd movie.

GAF, odd question - can you buy Blu-ray towers? DVD towers are designed with the width of, well, DVD cases in mind and I'm fast running out of storage room.

Edit: Never mind, found one. Nice and cheap too.

Bought almost all of the steelbooks available at Best Buy.
I was going to get some, the ones for A Bug's Life and Cars in particular have nice designs, but ended up getting none. The ones for Monsters Inc. and Up in particular are awful looking.
And another YES with regards to Toy Story/Toy Story 2. Of course though, it comes out in March. I'm going to spend way too much money that month.

As cool as those are, they were too expensive for me to care. And you've seriously got a problem. :p
In my defense, I had a lot of gift cards so it wasn't a huge loss: I only "paid" $45 total. The copies I already have I can sell and make most of that back.

I like the Pinocchio one the best.

Ya, I was eying them up at my bestbuy but after it seeing them as $30 each and I already ready own them all and got them for much cheaper I couldn't justify it no matter how cool.

I watched The Hangover last night. That's one hell of a funny movie, and it looked good too.

Also rented - and I'm ashamed to admit this -
Dragonball Evolution
, and it's a fantastic-looking film, but my god is it ever shit. Mercifully it's only 75 minutes long.

hey i posted this on gaming-age, but i wanted to share this with my friends on HDgaf

My first TV EVER! : D
its a sony 46" bravia W, got it for 760$ around blackfriday on amazon.

I watched gomorra last night, and i was blown away.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask
but i'm having problem with my tv?
when i watch the extras, there's like a 2 second black screen, then the word "HDMI 1" shows up at the top and the extra starts playing
but the problem is, there's no sound?
i have to switch the mode to tv, then back to HDMI for the sound to start playing?

is this a problem with the tv or the hdmi cable or the player?

tv is bravia kdl46v5100
using ps3 to play them

The Digital Bits:
We told you last week that Warner Home Video was getting close to making an official announcement on the long-awaited release of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-ray, and now they've finally gone and done it. Their 6-disc The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy Blu-ray box set will finally arrive in stores on 4/6/2010 ..., obviously on their New Line label. As we've reported previously, the box set will contain only the theatrical versions of the three films. Per Warner's press release "Extended versions of the films will be released at a later date on Blu-ray Disc." Our own sources tell us that the extended cuts are being held back at director Peter Jackson's request so that he can prepare more elaborate Blu-ray releases of those for debut closer to the theatrical and home video release of the two Hobbit films (now due in 2011 and 2012).
Not touching it. I'll wait for the extended edition.

This is just a quick update on a title we've talked about several times before, but as it's still a few months away from being officially announced, the news belongs here. In an interview with the L.A. Times over the weekend, actress Sigourney Weaver revealed that she's going to be recording brand new audio commentary tracks for each of the four Alien films - tracks that will be added to Fox's nearly complete Alien Anthology Blu-ray box set. We've confirmed this news with our industry sources, who have also informed us that the box set is going to blow away fans of the previous DVD Quadrilogy. Not only have all of those previous extras have been included, but TONS of new material has been added as well exclusively for the Blu-ray release - extras that should make the BD WELL worth upgrading to. The set will be released in mid-to-late 2010, and rest assured we'll keep you up to date on it.
On the one hand, I really only care for the first two, but...

I might buy the first LOTR on BD, but wait to buy the extended edition of the trilogy. Or maybe not; I don't much care for the second two.

Odd, I figured they were holding out until next Nov/Dec and would put all 3 in a set together.

Thats not how you market though. You release 1 and 2 BEFORE 3 hits to drum up excitment and hype. Then they will release all 3 by X-mas.

Basically, if you want all three, wait a few months and they'll release all three.

Is there TV talk in here too? Bought Lost Season 1-5 for a little over $100 at Amazon and Weeds Season 1-4 at Best Buy for about $55. These deals were too good to pass up.

About time they gave news about the LotR release, but it sounds like I'll be waiting for the EE too.

You can also get that manufacturer's coupon here, although you'll have to install a tiny coupon printer app:

Is $40 for Band of Brothers cheap? I thought I remember seeing it for like $30 or something but I may be thinking of something else...

Blu-ray.com has an invaluable Amazon price tracker that has all the latest price drops. You can get that price history graph by hovering over the graph icon that's in between "new price" and "change."

I don't know what the exchange rate is between the US/UK but I recently ordered BoB from Amazon.co.uk delivered to Australia for about AU$35 (USD$32)
