Just a heads up:
The Wizard of Oz (Three-Disc Emerald Edition) [Blu-ray] is on Amazon for $16.99. Great deal if your into the classics. It scored a perfect 10 on IGN in case your wondering. :D

Martyrs is only available in france and the UK. No other BR releases are planned.
and guess what: the UK Blu Ray is only in french with english subtitle.
but that's better anyway because the english synchro is a shitfest deluxe.

frontier(s) is the same, just that you can get it only in france(no UK version here). no other blu ray releases of that movie outside of france.

but the biggest asshole-bullshitness is the "Inside"(À l'intérieur) Blu Ray release.
it's ONLY available in f'g sweden. a french movie gets it's only(yea guess what: no other blu ray releases are planned for "inside") release in another country.
what makes it even worse: audio is just french and subtitles are only in scandinavian languages, which makes it basicly useless for only-english speakers.

I really hope all three get a (well deserved) Blu Ray release outside of france and sweden too but it's highly unlikey right now.
>:(((

Inside looks like it's available in the US on Amazon (in dvd form anyway). Is this the same version or is it edited to hell? I kind of want to see it.

Does anyone in Toronto want my Bluray BSG set? I'd offload it for far cheaper than what I bought it for. The packaging infuriates me, and it came a little bent up in shipping, but all the discs play just fine.

WTB the repackaged version in April, even if I don't sell this set for high enough. I'd be happy paying the difference :lol

Why don't you just check if the trade in program works for Canadians? That would be a lot better than rebuying the set.

It doesn't, and even if it did, it sounds like they're just sending out normal blu-ray disc cases. I'm a sucker for nicer packaging.

yea the DVD of inside is available worldwide, it's just that there no fucking Blu ray out anytime soon.
if you want to watch it, grab this DVD(it's uncut) but beware: the movie is not for everyone.

It can't be any more fucked up than Martyrs....can it? lol

I have never seen an episode of Battlestar Galatica.

Is it worth it?

I just watched them all including the feature lengths Razor and the Plan.

'Yes' would be the answer you're looking for. 'Fuck yes' may be even more accurate.

I'd say so, yes. If you're unsure rent the miniseries, which should give you a pretty good idea of whether or not you'll like it.

One of my housemates is a sci-fi fan and had never seen an episode, but on the urging of me and my other housemate, he watched the miniseries. He bought the Blu-ray set that day and then watched the whole thing in a month.

Question has probably been asked, but will there ever be a Star Wars blu-ray box or something. Then again, lucasarts was late with the DVD releases too right?

Not for a few years at least. Or at least until Bluray market penetration is higher and/or Star Wars has be re-re-re-released in 3D.

Yeah, George Lucas is probably still thinking of some brilliant additions to the original trilogy. When he's finished with that, the Blu Rays will be released.

HD versions of the Original Trilogy do exist on the Internets, luckily.

It's rumored that Star Wars Blu-Rays will come out in 2011.

Has anyone seen ink? I just impulse bought what seems to be an autographed br copy for 12 bucks without hearing of the movie ever before.

Leatherface said:
really? I think I'll need to mentally prepare myself for this then because Martyrs was rough on my soul. :lol
I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't find Inside to be anywhere near as taxing as Martyrs. Inside's more of an amped up slasher flick.

Just got my first HD tv (TX-P42G10) and blu ray player. I've watched The Dark Knight, Wall-E and Apocalypto in HD now. All looked fantastic.

Should be getting Planet Earth, Band of Brothers, Sin City, 2001, Sunshine and the Bourne Trilogy this week as well. Can't wait to see those. :D

.....what spoilers?

The eyepatch and Lee being in a suit? :lol

Marty: Does the "I wish" mean...those shots are fake? I don't understand, lol. Or are they an older set, or the UK set or something? It's odd for Razor to be on its own.

Never mind, those are probably just the existing Bluray sets bought separately and photographed together, haha.

Those are custom covers that I made and recently found a picture of someone using them. Heh, oddly enough, I haven't even printed out my own set to use after all this time. I wish the official stuff looked that good though.

How is the PQ on the Halo Legends disc? I'm thinking of getting it, but I want a good looking disc.
It's decent enough. Not the best-looking animation I've seen on Blu-ray but it's still a nice transfer on the whole.

The biggest disappointment for me was the lack of HD audio. A couple of the segments had massive battles that I would have loved to have heard in all their glory. Still sounds good, though.

Nice choice. That's one of my favourite demo discs - great movie too - and it often seems to get overlooked when people ask for recommendations.

Im super pissed that Sympathy for mr vengeance, old boy, and Lady vengeance are coming to blu-ray in a box set but its exclusive to Best Buy for the first couple of months. And they want 70$ for it.

But on the other hand im pleased that Lady Vengeance is gonna have the fade to black version that was never released in the US, on it.

Damn, nice work on those.

I've been waiting for the LotR trilogy for a while, so I'll have to wait a little while longer for the Extended ones then. I'm already double dipping once.

Cool thanks. I rented it on XBL in SD, so I'll probably get the BRD when it's ~$15.

Is it, now? I may have to double dip. I have all three on DVD and was on the fence with the blus but this may push me over.

There's an HD trailer for the LOTR Blu-rays here. I'm going to be really tempted when that comes out because I haven't watched them for a couple of years. If it starts getting really good AV reviews I'll probably give in and get it.

Either way, what's going to annoy me is if the eventual extended set doesn't have the theatrical ones via seamless branching. That was what I really wanted on DVD and there's no reason why it's not possible.

I'm totally bitter that they are not releasing the extended versions, but I have to buy this. I can't wait until 2012 or whatever for my bluray fix. :(

got to watch a 3d tv at Sony Style this past weekend (watching some CG movie, i think it was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) The effect is pretty amazing!! It's like a window effect like Avatar. But the problem is that you have to sit pretty close to the screen to really get the full effect (or buy are really huge ass screen).

Ew, slickdeals referral link :-/

But yeah, I'd buy it. Probably my favorite "romantic comedy" (if you can call it that) of the past few years.

oops, didnt even see the referral link, got it straight from there. i always forget to click the neogaf amazon link at the top.... =(

as a first time watcher right now, its not. i didnt even think twice about the box art until you complained about it...

W/e then, maybe I'm crazy. I just don't like know a lot about movies/series I'm getting into character/plot wise.

Carry on.

Amazon pretty much blows. Release date is March 2nd (or 3rd) for Where the Wild Things Are - and they still haven't shipped it. First and last time I order something from them.
