Justice League: New Frontier is AWESOME. BUY IT RIGHT NOW.
I picked it up today with 30 Days of Night, will be watching both soon.
With the new tv it is a whole new world, I never realized how bad my Phillips 37" really was.

About half way through Justice League and I am greatly impressed so far as far as story and transfer.
Has a very stylized look to it, colors are very crisp.

EDIT:

Ok, finished it and I agree with Mana that it is a must buy for any comic fan.
By far the best of the animated superhero movies to hit high definition by far and possibly to ever be released.
While I do not agree with the better than Batman Begins, it is definitely way up there.
This IS Superman, this IS Batman, this IS Wonder Woman, this IS the Flash... so on and so on.
They definitely captured the soul of the characters.

watched TMNT blu-ray last night and thought the movie started off well but petered out halfway thru. Could have been pretty damn good if it had a decent story.

bluray transfer was stunning at times

raphael and leonardo fighting in the rain was amazing to watch

The TMNT was missing the line between reality/fiction that the first movie had. It just seemed so stupid with the aliens - I would have loved something with a bit more substance. The ralph/leo combo was great - it just strayed off with the other shit.

It has Hal Jordan, it's better than BB :)

I heard Superman: Doomsday was released recently. Was it any good?

I'd rather see some really high quality Marvel (they've made some, but they weren't very good) or DC-spin off properties in great direct to video movies. Tons of potential.

Beowulf In the Volume -- This fascinating video commentary places a fairly steady Picture-in-Picture overlay in the bottom right corner of the film. As the movie plays, the small window displays storyboards, animatics, and, most interestingly, footage of the cast members recording their parts in a 25' by 25' motion capture studio. I really enjoyed watching the actors interact with each other and I ended up watching the entire track from beginning to end. Strangely, the overlay disappears anytime Grendel's mother graces the screen -- since she appears as a nearly-nude demon in the film, I'm surprised Jolie took issue with her motion capture footage being used in the supplemental content.

Still, the only major problem with this PiP presentation is that it serves as both a blessing and a curse to the film itself. On one hand, the motion capture footage showcases how much of the actors' expressiveness was retained and utilized by the animators. On the other hand, it shines an unforgiving light on the gap between the nuanced, live action performances and the animated end results

WORTHLESS!

An audio commentary for There Will Be Blood would potentially be enough for me if the rest is shit.

Anderson doesn't do commentaries any more, and I don't believe Daniel Day-Lewis does either, so it's very unlikely TWBB will have any commentary track.

Hey, so I've been catching up with this thread, and I saw the info about the T2 Ultimate Edition and I'd like to import it. Is there a good (preferred) place to pre-order/import this?

Would you say it's worth the money? Do you think it's re watchable?

Oh yes. One of the best DC-to-film movies ever. And there's a great documentary about the complete history of JLA. The 80s were so funny.

So can we post our HD collections and screens of movies on our TVs here too?

So far I have 39 HD-DVDs and 41 BRs...

Still waiting on 5 more rebate movies, and I have yet to mail out this last form. Also waiting for more fire sales.

I just finished watching Face/Off, the picture was pretty soft for the most part, espeically towards the begining of the movie, but it was still very clean looking...

Just watched Michael Clayton HD DVD.

Really satisfied with the PQ, not the best I've seen, but really good nonetheless. I don't think the movie would have benefited much from a lossless track, since the movie is really heavy on dialogs.

Also the Columbia House sale is for both HD-DVDs and BRs. I think I go ahead and pick up a few since this is probably the last good BOGO we're going to see for a long time. I really need to be saving my money for a new desktop... :(

Grrrr. Not helping.

BUY IT.

I'm watching it for the second time now. It's growing from a good DC movie to the best the more I watch it. Silver Age was just so awesome and HAL FUCKING JORDAN is the best Green Lantern EVER! Oh damn the Flash part near the beginning was awesome, and Martian Man Hunter watching TV just rules.

Bu...bu...but it's only like 70 minutes long. WHAT KIND OF ENTERTAINMENT IS THAT?!?1
I guess I'm gonna buy JL.

Anyone getting 30 Days of Night. I really enjoyed it, I think enough to get the BD release. Definitely not as good as The Descent, but good enough I think. I like the final 15 minutes or so too. There are some faults and parts that I recognize could have been done a lot better.

What are you smoking? The Descent was pure and unadulterated utter ass compared to 30 Days of Night. If anyone is thinking about picking up 30 Days or Beowulf Walmart has them for $24.96. I picked both of them up tonight. The PQ on Beowulf is about as good as anything I've seen on HD. I haven't watched 30 days yet as I don't have my PS3 yet hopefully next week.

Does anyone know if/when they will be bringing My Super Ex Girlfriend to Bluray? I tried to find something online, but no luck. I'm sure there is a lot of hate for the movie, but I enjoyed it.

Can either ManaByte or OokieSpookie post screencaps of A New Frontier? It definitely looks like something I might pick up later this week.

Run Lola Run vs The Lives of Others
CHOOSE!!!
Get them both, they are both amazing movies. I honestly couldn't choose one over the other.

And Lola has AMAZING PQ for how old it is and the fact that it's a foreign indie film.

Fry's seems to have raised their HD movie prices... They used to be pretty much at parity with Amazon, but I went there today and saw prices that were almost at Best Buy/Circuit City levels!!

Prices were never permanently good for HD movies at Fry's. Around December they had a lot of $14.99 movies and such, but that was temporary.

Picked it up yesterday, not a bad movie.
I liked most of it but thought the end was anticlimactic.
Very very good PQ.
