The hell is wrong with Mountain Dew Code Red right now

Don't know what the hell went wrong but over the past couple weeks every time I had Code Red something is terribly wrong with the taste. Bottles and cans the wrong taste is there.

Is it where I live or did they actually change something with it? It's gotten to the point where it's throwing away money buying it cause it's so nasty.

Its a sign to start drinking water

It's Mountain Dew, and the fact that it is Mountain Dew means that by default, it is disgusting and unfit for human consumption.

It's the most disgusting soda that there is, was, and ever will be.

Probably cheaper ingredients. Man, that reminds me of the time my fav sushi joint switched up kikkoman with some generic soya sauce. Horrible. I feel your pain OP.

Yes Mountain Dew is considered shit (Baja blast is the worst) just it's always tasted good to me.

Maybe it's because I had other sodas for a while and that's why it taste off but still something had to change.

Mountain Dew is original colored like Pepsi. I can't even imagine how many dyes it takes to get it turn radioactive green or the other multitude of colors in the Code Red product line.

Don't worry OP, I like Code Red. Haven't had one in a while though so I can't confirm or deny the taste. Might have a chance to get one later so I'll let you know if I do.

Who cares? They're all safe by the FDA.

Idk, if you think something is weird about the flavor, call the number on the bottle. They'll probably compensate you and forward the feedback to their quality and R&D teams.

Code Red was never good.

It is an injustice that Code Red continues to exist while superior flavors like Supernova have been ripped from our grasp.

You have this backwards. Coke (or Pepsi) is said to be green before they add the caramel color.

Although even that is an urban legend that is probably not true. I assume most sodas are clear before they add the dyes and coloring. It's mostly water and sugar in them after all.

Yeah it hasn't tasted the same for me in forever, but maybe because the superior Game Fuel is produced regularly now.

I hope it's not getting nasty, Mountain Dew Code Red is the best dew! I'm going to go get one at walmart later, perhaps! That sounds like a fun night.

But code red is one of the longest lasting ones. It stays because it's still one of the best. What really should go away is voltage, especially since white out was the far better one. The Halloween one or black out never did it for me and hated Baja blast as long as it existed on the earth.

Yep, Code Red was awful from day one. I'm still bitter about Supernova losing to Voltage. Voltage is ok, but Supernova was excellent.

This is the only answer. I cannot believe people drink the stuff. The original is gross, the variants are gross. All gross, all around.

Yeah people dislike stuff, I hate tea and root beer but just how I think they taste terrible. For some people that's Mountain Dew, odd how some people like stuff that others dislike and vice versa.

This is making me want to go get some Diet Mountain Dew Code Red, and I just ran out, and the closest place that sells it is hours away.

Darn.
