The Heroes Summer Thread of Awesome

Good, she's at the age where you're SUPPOSED to get a little crazy. Fricken Lohan, Paris, Spears didn't start till 19 and up. In Canada we call we're 2-3 years in by then.

I'm a huge fan of the show, but should I even bother with the comics?

EDIT: Is Candace Betty? No wonder she looks the way she does... I'd want to stay that way too.

The new BBC advert is awesome... I hope this gets the popularity it deserves in the UK. BBC have the second season wrapped up as well

Holy shit that was all kinds of awesome. The song was great.

And yeah...those comics are starting to suck. They can't really do that much with them because they can't make them required reading or anything, so they're stuck doing these shitty back stories.

So I finished watching season 1 while E3 was going on... thought it was great! Definitely looking forward to season 2 and seeing what they do with it:)

When I first started the season, I was expecting that all the characters would meet up within a few episodes. Heh, well, that sure didn't happen! It was a little hard to follow at first because there were so many different storylines, but I ended up really liking the format.

I was really impressed that the writing team could keep so many different storylines going on, having them intersect at appropriate intervals, and have everyone end up where they're supposed to be for the finale. It seems

I guess some people were disappointed with the finale, but I was totally happy with it. It was cool to finally see
all the heroes end up in the same location (briefly) after being apart for most of the season
, and the season's big crisis/plot (
how are they going to keep "the bomb" from going off?
) was resolved in a way that didn't feel like a cop-out. OK, I realize some people were expecting a longer
fight with Sylar, but since they're bringing him back in the next season, they've got to leave something for the future...

I also liked how final the season's storyline ending up being -- they pretty much
took down all of Linderman's organization
. I'm glad that the show isn't going the way of many other shows where the evil conspiracy is always still out there and never gets resolved. I know the producers said that each season of Heroes is supposed to be a complete story arc and I like that.

The one thing I thought was dumb or didn't really understand was
supposedly Linderman's company had planned the bomb, but I don't really understand how they had anything to do with it. It seems like the bomb depended on a bunch of events that Linderman had no role in at all (Ted escaping from police custody, Sylar killing his mother, etc.). How can they portray him as the mastermind behind everything?

Guess I should check out the graphic novels before Season 2 starts, although from the reactions in this thread, it sounds like they're pretty crummy... :|

The way I saw it:

Linderman only had Isaac's paintings to go on and we saw how they didn't always predict the exact future. Well all Linderman really knew was that there was going to be an explosion. No matter the events leading up to it, it was still going to go off. I think it was a little about putting too much faith in Isaac's paintings, in the end.
But then I'm sure someone is going to have a better theory than mine.

and most of the graphic novels from during the season are pretty good, and the one about the Haitian is good too (if contradictory to information given in the episodes).

I think that's about right. Linderman's group wasn't so much about planning the explosion. He was more interested in making sure nothing interfered with it, and making sure that the aftermath went the way he wanted (Nathan elected, etc).

You really don't have to follow them to keep up with the show, but they're good if you want a little more Heroes when it's not on. Of course when the writing's terrible and they center on a character no one cares about, it's not that great, like this last one. But the one before that centered on The Haitian and it was totally awesome.

unless I saw it wrong, Peter has a shaved head, and Nathan is alive?!?!?! OMG!!! WHAT!!! WHATS GOING ON!!!!

Indeed that was nathan with a gruffy beard etc. Sounded like his mother was saying something to him about if it had gone differently he could still be alive. Guessing he has gone "dead" and is hiding now

from what I gathered from the clip, the mother thinks that Peter is dead and its Nathans fault for not allowing it to happen as it should have, but Peter isnt dead and is being held captive by someone, he looked like he was in a cell backed up against a wall and scared.

Your correct relistening she says if you had done what you were supposed to do he would be alive right now.

Here's a translation I found for the article that was posted before on Hana's site

Mysterious Deaths Ignite Rumors Involving The Cartel

All the inhabitants of a remote village located to the south of Vaupés river, were found dead by hikers that were exploring the mountain zones of Chiribiquete National Park. The hikers, a man and a woman from the western of the US discovered the macabre scene when they arrived to the village, and described it as: "Something only the devil could have done". The couple preferred to remain anonymous.

Exploring the scene more in detail, they discovered dozens of corpses, which showed a film-like substance on the eye area.

"We saw the village from the mountain and as we were running out of water, we decided to go down to stock up (or supply)". At the entrance of the place, there were no signs of life. It was like if the life had stopped and the world had continued his course".

A medical team was sent to the place, but the cause of the tragedy hasn’t been announced yet.

The area, which for a long time believes that it serves as hiding place of the Borjas, is known to be rich in natural resources.

Many of the natives who inhabit these regions, speculate that the residents of the village, were used as pawns in the dispute between the Borjas and a group of builders (this could be developers or constructors) who were trying to appropriate part of this remote region.

Until the moment of publishing this article, no survivors have been found.

Interesting.

Oh and in case you like the jpgs of the comics, might as well post those here too for easy downloading

So...what exactly is Haram's power? Is it the whole dehydrating thing too or is it more like Peter's power? If it's like Peter's power then why couldn't he turn invisible like Claude?

Haram has no powers.

So what did he do to the chick at the very end?

basically made her touch herself, even though I'm sure she's done that many times in the past (no pun intended). such a stupid story, it was a waste of bandwidth to download them.

She drained liquid through her hands, he put her hands on her face, she sucked herself dry.

That doesn't even make sense. How can she drain the fluid from herself? She would drain it back into herself... and nothing would happen!

This thread should be renamed. Nothing happening in the summer has been "awesome" for Heroes.
