The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

The reason why the list seems weird is because it's the Frozenbyte bundle. That's also probably the reason why we are getting an odd bundle thrown in at not the usual time. All 5 games are from the same PC dev. Hell it's basically their whole Catalog minus - Trine 2.

The bigger question I have is for Steam people. If you already own a game in the bundle like say Trine. Can you gift the extra copy?

You couldn't with the other bundles. (You got one key which contained all the games)

But you could just "gift away" the DRM-free .exe you get, if you already have the game on Steam.

Somebody mentioned that in the last thread and it turned into a heated thread-shitting discussion as to whether or not that constitutes piracy.
Hopefully, those same people don't show up.

I'm down for $10. I own 3 out of the 5 games but I really want to support more of these bundles coming out. Plus there is the whole charity thing too I suppose.

How the hell could it constitute piracy, if you own 2 licences of a game and gift one away?

I'm probably summoning them right now.

I don't think this bundle is that great compared to the earlier ones but that is understandable as a spinoff bundle, i may get it even tough i already own Trine. Also Lugaru is a pretty good game even tough it has some issues, it's by no means terrible.

I loved the first two bundles. LOVED THEM.

But I'm feeling very "meh" about this one. And I have a strong feeling that it's not even going to come close to the level of success of HB1, let alone HB2.

1) They broke their cardinal rule, with only 3/5 projects being multiplatform. As a Mac user, HumbleBundle is now doing what every other game service BUT them does: Bundle up products I can't actually use. Notice that the avg mac buying price is only $3.

2) I've only heard of ONE of these five games. And I follow the indie scene. The games in each bundle have been getting steadily more and more obscure.

3) 2/5 aren't final projects. Jack Claw isn't even *going* to be a finished project. It's just a little thing they worked on, for a bit. In addition, two are part of the same series and are very close to one another.

This bundle strikes me as more of a test, than anything. I think they're running it to answer a bunch of questions. Can a bundle contain all one company's games? Can it contain less than 5 titles? Can it be less than platform agnostic?

I think this is paving the way for HumbleBundle.com selling individual titles on a pay-what-you-want basis, or paying for indie company's back-libraries on a pay-what-you-want basis, without expiration date (the deal will be permanent). I don't think we're going to see another bundle like 1 & 2, that had five huge, marquee games.

~~

Despite ALL THIS... I still sorta realized that I could pay whatever I wanted for these games. So what the heck. I can (and will) still support it. They'll still get some money from me. Just not as much as before. That's the beauty of these packages.

(fyi, I paid $10)

Mhhh i already have Trine & Shadowgrounds Survivor
Jack Claw looks pretty cool but it's just a prototype...

To be fair, the sale has only just started. It's a bit early to be making any claims about the average Mac price when it's already doubled since you posted, and is higher than the current Windows price. See, I'm doing it myself now.

Bought it like a hot Steam sale. I already had Trine, but its worth it to support them. Buy Trine, people. You will not be disappointed.

Came for Trine, stayed for the others.

It may not have multiple big name games in it this time but it's really not about that; I'm giving to charities and getting fun stuff out of it.

Like others have said, this is just FrozenByte's contribution. They're offering THEIR games on this, which is why it's not the HB3 but the Humble Frozen Bundle.

And they only have three games available.

I'm trying to it for Trine mainly, but can't for some reason.

If I want to use it on Mac & PC is it easiest just to buy it twice?

Seems that some of the games aren't on Mac Steam yet so could be.

Weird, I turned off Adblock, yet when I click to log in to Paypal I'm getting "Please continue your purchase in the secure window we opened. If you don't see it, click the button below". And no window appears.

Actually just noticed the volunteer/dev Tech Support thing at the bottom. An awesome person named Eelis said they're having severe lag and it should be fixed soon.

I can't pass the title screen of Jack Claw, it seems neither the keyboard or the mouse work. Only keys working are ESC for quitting and F8 for showing the console...

Glad to see that the only game I was interested in includes a 64bit binary :)

edit: stupid 64bit binaries requiring 32 bit libraries

So all bundles are going to be referred to as "humble" now?

"Humble" as in you pay what you want. If you want to pay 1c, they are willing to give it to you for that price.

That's kind of the definition of "humble", isn't it?

When they're being handled through the Humble Indie Bundle site, I suppose so.
Ooh didn't know it was going through another party

Indeed it is, but I feel lots of people are going to be getting those games by paying just 1c because they see the word "humble" on their news site

If people only contribute a cent it won't be because of the word 'humble'.
