The I bought the DVD/Blu-Ray and don't want the digital version give away thread

I replaced a few of my Blu-rays with Ultra-HD versions, so I have some extra UV codes!

Instructions for participants:

You can enter for more than one movie, but each entry needs to be a single PM with just that specific movie in the PM.

For example I entered for both Mad Max and Deadpool, sent Modbot two PMs, one for each movie.

If they get a single PM with many movies in it, the entry won't be counted.

Edit: guess I took too long over-explaining lol.
 
I have one for Warcraft. No need for codes and I usually ask questions for someone to guess and win.

Since its about World of Warcraft, what race is my Paladin? Good luck!

I'm trying to access my VUDU through the iOS app and I keep getting too many devices notification. Since when has this been?!?! Help me GAF!

Apparently newest update changed this? Hope it's not a new policy. I can't even delete devices off my VUDU.

Did it ask for a sign-in the first time? It did for me, and it got stuck when I tried to delete a device. But then I clicked on the link again to open it in a new tab and it worked without any issues after that.

I have to say, I love vudu thanks to a GAF thread that pointed out the benefits of these digital library options.

I'm a bit annoyed I have so many expired codes from before I saw the light =[.

My main issue is I like owning physical, but I hate the temptation of the "own digital 3 weeks early!". I wish every movie did what the second TMNT did: an option to pay and watch immediately on vudu at a premium price and they (through walmart) send the BR on release.
 
Cool. I'm rarely in Walmart, so this is new to me. Do DVD's that are Instantwatch give SD codes? And do you get one or four codes with the four DVD packs?

Yeah, we're happy to answer Vudu/UV questions here. Just don't break the cardinal rule of the thread which is no sales/trades. That goes in BST. ;)

DVDs usually give SD codes. Blus usually give HD codes. 4K Blus give UHD codes.

Multi discs pack vary. Some give one code for the pack (typical with TV seasons). Others give one code per movie.

By the way the mini ship edition of the New Star Trek on walmart.com comes with instawatch that let's you watch the movie today.

What does this mean for my Vudu collection? Don't really feel like having two/three seperate digital libraries and I'm still a bit confused by what everything is in relation to each other.

Vudu, Flixster, Cinema Now, etc. = "Front End" clients. What you use to play your stuff.

Ultraviolet is a "Back End" service. This contains your library, but does not offer a client to play it directly.

When you link services to UV, they can all access your library, no matter where you first redeemed the code.

Disney Movies Anywhere is also a back end service that works similar to UV, though Disney also offers its own front end client.

iTunes and Xbox Video are both closed systems that don't interact with UV (though they did both make an exception for Disney).

Just to be technical, Instawatch doesn't actually give out codes, per se. It simply adds the movie to your VUDU account automatically (link your Walmart and VUDU accounts first, if they aren't already the same).

But yeah, DVDs have only ever given out SD with IW in my experience.

The one multipack DVD I tried had a code or codes - can't remember which - inside the case, and then I accidentally redeemed it again with IW. So, now I have those movies in my collection twice - four separate listings and one group listing. Not sure how to fix that, but not a big deal either way.

The UV site itself can be finicky about listing everything, but all of your movies should still show up when you link UV to other services (VUDU, etc.)
