The Killers finally drop a new single.

Hot Fuss is top ten GOAT albums for me. Unfortunately every album after hasn't came close to the quality of that album. I'll keep my expectations low but hope for the best here.

I like Sam's Town more than Hot Fuss.

I also like Battle Born quite a bit.

Come at me.

All These Things That I've Done is the best on Hot Fuss. Mr Brightside is on the lower end of Hot Fuss too. Which still makes it an absolute classic.

I actually enjoy all their albums, but everything after Sam's Town is clearly a step down in quality. Even they admit that Battleborn isn't up to scratch (although I enjoyed it). There is something lacked in terms of creativity and vigour in those two.

Whilst I prefer Hot Fuss to Sam's Town there is clearly a grim americana they are trying to capture which feels different and they land it. I prefer their original style more, but I can respect them going for it.

The Man just feels derivative. Brandon Flowers' solo albums feel fresh so something definitely is off.

I enjoyed Battle Born more than Day & Age, but neither of them come anywhere close to Hot Fuss and Sam's Town.

Not feeling this new single at all. Maybe once I listen to it more I will, but the first impression isn't good.

This is the definition of a grower to me. On first listen it was very much a "meh" for me. But I've probably heard it 2- times now and I think it's a pretty solid jam. It's not an instant classic first single like Runaways was, but it really gets it's hooks in after a few repeats. I love "got gas in the tank, got money in the bank, I got news for you baby, you're looking at the man". I feels a little bit like Bling to me.

Sounds oke i guess. Not bad.
But its not The Killers sound i fell in love with all those years ago.

Now i am listening again to When We Are Young.

Btw who else got to know the band because of The OC? :D

But he's the man no?

Until he's thrown out of a casino, watches the replay of himself crashing, his lady friends all leave, gets yawned off stage, etc. Interesting bridge between Flowers' last solo release and new Killers music?

This all sounds like a man to me! But yes, I hadn't thought of that, that is interesting.

I kinda get some Talking Heads vibes from this song. It's not great, but after a few listens I started to dig it. Doesn't come close to Hot Fuss or Sam's Town though.

Holy shit is this song good. Was not expecting a bop of this magnitude when clicking on a Killers link in 2017...
