i know i am going to be crying like a bitch at the end of the game for some reason, its ok to admit you all will be too

Yes. Me.

This makes a lot of sense. I'm super excited for 2016. I have to not die!
“But in 2011 the progress became super slow. There were lots of technical issues. The game was not performing at speed. The video we showed, the trailer on PS3, was specced up. The game was running at a much lower frame rate. Some features were still missing.
Still looks phenomenal to me. There is no fucking way this was accomplishable on the PS3. I'm stunned there are actual GAF haters who would posit that.
It's like getting the original game and the HD remaster at the same time!
I'm sorry, and off topic, but that thing is fucking gorgeous. I just... want... one.
That's what I thought had to of happened.
It was just technically too much and I bet Ueda was pushed to try and dumb down the AI or tech a bit but fought back which would quickly cause issues between check writer and creator.
So PS3 couldn't handle it?
Or they just didn't program it right and moved on to PS4?
What exactly was so hard to do on PS3? The feathers?
Three games made me buy a PS3:Quick survey: Was there anybody here who bought a PS3 with the specific intention to play TLG?
PS3 just couldn't deal with Catbird.
Yes. Me.
That explains why the visuals look exactly the same as it did years ago visually. Literally every feather is moving.

Add on the environmental destruction on top of that. Similar thing happened to FFXV.

This perfectly expresses how I felt, literally becoming that gif when he caught the tail, followed by that SotC style swinging while climbing. So many memories and strange feelings took over me. It is obvious that was an overwhelming reveal for anyone who was waiting for this game, but I still didn't expect to get the same feelings I got when the game was announced the first time. And yet I did.. At first I was hyped, trying to share my joy with gaf on the Sony thread, but watching the demo I slowly got hypnotised to the point where I even forgot about "wow what a megaton"... it was just so beautiful. It really was the game I was waiting for...
Now I understand some people will say I'm exaggerating and some will simply think I'm crazy and don't understand what all the fuss is about. But I think where others saw maybe just a slow and even boring demo, every Ueda fan felt that special undefined thing that makes Ico and Shadow of the Colossus be so highly regarded. A feeling so big you don't even know how to fully embrace it
EDIT: Also, for those who say this game looks like a PS3 game... I really want to know what games you're playing cause apparently I've missed a lot.
I hope the animal can get annoyed at the kid for being stupid. It sure seemed like everything he did was just making the situation worse, destroying all the platforms and almost rolling a log into the precariously hanging creature.Ha, I like that bit. I wonder if there's a button that makes you shout 'Stop being a dick, Trico...'.
I didn't think I'd get so excited again for it and I was convinced it was dead. But then I pretty much burst into tears. Yep. Emotional night. Lol.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this in February. Sony seems to like putting a game in that slot before a big game in March and that'll be Uncharted.

Ico and Sotc are one of my favorites games of all times.
It also ran at 15 FPS half the time which thankfully isn't acceptable for a major title in this day and age.And yet Shadow of the Collosus was made on a PS2.
ICO and SOTC both were studied extremely heavily during their era for the advances they made to collision systems, shader programming and aesthetic.
Agreed, but to its defense, it was supposed to be released at the tail end of the PS3 life cycle, along with the last of us and beyond two souls. But considering what's going on in the demo, it's a blessing it got moved to the ps4... It's a more stable choice.Yeah I remember viewing the PS3 trailer only a few months back and thinking it seemed too technically good compared to anything on that console. Makes sense, game may look largely the same, but it was never meant to be a PS3 game to begin with. The game looks next gen to me.
2012? I don't believe that, what does 'start' really mean.
Ah makes sense, I always figured it was technical in nature and they would redo the engine for PS4.
Most important parts of that Kotaku article: game is fully playable and Ueda still actively involved.
Start could just be development discussions and concept art
“The game is totally playable,” he said proudly, noting that Sony simply didn’t play it live during their E3 presentation because the artificial intelligence behind the big animal can’t be expected to behave in the most stage-demo-friendly way all the time. “We have a certain level of confidence about the launch window, which is why we showed it.”

This is excellent
