The Last Guardian is $49.99 on Amazon

Prime discount is based on MSRP only. So any discount doesn't stack the 20% savings.

Yes it is; it should be $47.99 with Prime. GCU should also be $47.99. Best Buy would be the only place where if they listed it for $49.99, then it would now be $39.99 because it would stack with the list price.

Well that is bullshit. I expect a 20 percent discount from any pre-release price.

It's Not stacking for me and I have amazon prime. It's $47.99 total before taxes. And with taxes, $51.47. Just to mention, I am lookin at it thro the iPhone Amazon app.

You should go with Best Buy then.

Yes, it doesn't stack. Prime's discount is 20% off MSRP only. Any lower prices on Amazon does not stack the 20%. So the best you can do is $47.99 with Prime which makes the $49.99 price irrelevant. It only helps people who do not have Prime. Only Best Buy allows you to stack.

So OP made a mistake since he mention "Cheaper if you have Amazon Prime". We were both right haha.

Fair price since it looks like a PS3 remaster.

I suspect the audience reception will be more comparable to MGSV, where folks will attribute all the masterful moments to Kojima Ueda while any last-gen jank in either the visual or gameplay departments will be written off as unpolished thanks to Sony's meddling with Kojima Ueda's flawless vision.

The review thread will be something...

Yep.

Seems like a sale price & not an actual price drop, so I don't see much of a reason to raise concern. Hell, even if Sony decided this title would do better at $50 - that's understandable. It's a niche game that might not transcend into mainstream appeal. R&C debuted at $40, and it's probably the best PS4 exclusive of the year.

Savage.

Does anyone really care what critics have to say about this game? Everyone's going to bring in so much baggage/expectations.

I am eagerly anticipating the horror of the reviews thread if this game is not a critical success.

Wait for reviews.

Stop pre-ordering games.

I am cautiously looking forward to this game, but given its development history, there's no way I'm pre-ordering it.

As others have stated, the Prime discount does still apply once you go through the checkout process, but to the base price, not the sale price.

This means that if you're a Prime member, you can get it for $47.99 before any tax instead of $49.99.

Reviews will be meaningless, the only way to judge this game will be to play it for yourself. Granted I feel that way about basically every game, but this one especially.

Orrrrrrr..... Pre-order from amazon and return if the reviews on day one are crap.

People who think that gaming is just all about graphics should just stop console gaming since they look like shit compared to high end PCs. Seriously all this it looks like a PS3 game is full of shit.

Except when it is Microsoft though:

Thread about FH3 -

One way to show someone's full of shit lol.

If The Last Guardian gets a Metacritic average of 18, I'm still buying it.

Lol same.

The thing is though people mistake everyone anticipating this game as expecting this to be GotG with our unbelievable, linearly growing hype. I'm just expecting an unique experience, I know it was a bumpy ride.
