My finger has been on the trigger of buying a PS4...the minute this is out both will be bought.
Lol noooo. I mean if it got announced during the conference that it was available right then to purchase in stores, I'd bounce out of the office and hit up GS.
Then return to work =(
Stores need to be notified more than a day ahead of time. They need to make actual orders for the game, clear shelf space, and I am sure some places would love to collect pre-orders.Stuff can get overnighted. If it's overnighted monday, most stores will get it tuesday.

And I'm positive that's not even half of what goes into it.
This is the feeling Sony hopes to perpetuate when they announce that TLOU remastered is available next week on PS4 only. This E3 is even more important than last in trying to do everything possible to make you pick a side. I have both so it doesn't matter to me but to those with the either/or mentality, especially 360 owners who didn't have a PS3 on the verge of going PS4 over One, TLOU re-mastered will be a huge reason to say screw it, I'm buying a PS4. This will especially be the case if Microsoft doesn't come out guns-blazing when it comes to first party ip's and sooner rather than later release dates for them.
I went to an Uncharted 2 event a week before the game came out in 2009. It was a very similar setup. RSVP on a website to secure yourself a spot, etc. They held events at a handful of Sony movie theaters around the U.S.
At the end of the night they unexpectedly handed out copies of the game to everyone. It was an awesome surprise getting the game a week early.![]()

Very strange as this is a Thurs - not the usual Friday for new releases in the UK.
What if Sony gave them a window... say "summer"... would they still order?
The reason I ask is because I remember years ago when the Saturn came out the manager of my local EB had no clue he was getting them until they showed up. Up until then they had a date of sometime in September.
That's true. They could easily announce an immediate digital release and stock retail later.
How does that work? Are they just expecting more 360 stock and it turns out to be a new model?Same thing with the 360E last year. Only 2 stores in my area had any idea about it until it showed up at the store.
A lot of people seem hyped about Halo 2 Anniversary so it shows there's demand for these things. So TLOU Remastered can be a console seller ? Doubt it !
Well we are talking a 10 year old game being remade versus a one year old game, but I do agree that there is clearly demand.A lot of people seem hyped about Halo 2 Anniversary so it shows there's demand for these things.

But its not only on ps4.You can doubt it all you want but TLOU will sell PS4's. Hell I've already bought it twice on PS3(let my buddy have my first copy) and it's the game I want most in my hands right now. Sorry but you definitely don't understand how popular TLOU was and will be again in 1080p, 60 fps and ONLY ON PS4. Best believe it!
A lot of us 360 players migrated over to PS4 and never got a chance to play TLOU.Well we are talking a 10 year old game being remade versus a one year old game, but I do agree that there is clearly demand.
But its not only on ps4.

The thing about TLOU is that it was clearly a game designed to be on a more powerful console as shown by the poor IQ and constant frame dropping. For people that were really bothered by that, a PS4 version is a big deal.

I am one of them, haven't been spoiled. I'm excited as hell for this.A lot of us 360 players migrated over to PS4 and never got a chance to play TLOU.

Personally the day TLoU PS4 releases is the day I buy a PS4 (preferably bundled). Whether that makes it a system seller is up to you.

Why is there doubt about the demand for TLOU PS4?
You're getting a complete, better-looking and (supposedly) better running version of one of the best games of last gen on the same new platform that will be supported with new games for years to come. Not to mention everyone who missed out last gen now has the perfect opportunity to try it out
You can't sell a system with only last gen ports, but the definitive version of a game as well-received as TLOU is a solid addition to the lineup
Some of my friends a rebuying it, my GF is also buying it and playing it for the first time since she was also mostly a 360 only gamer in terms of consoles. Couple of my friends are also buying it for the first time, same situation. This will sell and definitely move consoles. And another! My point is this is a VERY popular title that will be VERY popular on PS4. Will it be as big as on PS3? I doubt it but I wouldn't put it past it. The PS4 has a huge install base already this early in it's lifespan, who the hell knows how much this thing will end up selling eventually. My guess is a lot though. Definitely enough to call it a "system seller", whatever the hell that means anymore anyway since there hasn't been a single game since the original Halo where I felt I needed to buy a console just because of it.

Here's another.
if it was a new game that hasn't been released yet I might actually care...
Y'know, bumping this thread is torture.
I want to see it bumped when the release date is known.

I think it will be fine. I've not had any issues downloading games on PSN for the PS4. It's a rerelease of a game for a console that has a comparatively (to PS3) low install base. I doubt that demand will be as insane as you think.

Plus, the difference between Halo remaster and TLOU is that the 360 dominated in NA. Most people who wanted Halo, bought Halo. TLOU was missed by many because the PS3 wasn't as huge. Now that people are making their choices, having the opportunity to play TLOU on PS4 could push them forwards. I mean, why wouldn't they, TLOU is widely seen as the best game of last gen

I wouldn't say it was that the PS3 wasn't as big in America, but that there's many people jumping from 360 to PS4 who didn't bother to buy a PS3. Hell, there may be more people like me who own a PS3 and never played TLOU. I didn't bother with it because I knew I was gonna get a PS4 and I knew they were gonna port the game.
