The Last Remnant Trailer

Drakengard is to PS2 what Last Remnant is to 360/PS3. I'll probably rent it, but so far I'm not feeling it at all.

Well that was awful.

The next generation of RPGs has arrived.

I guess this did deserve its own thread. It is Sqeenix. Anyway I'll say what I said in the other thread. Looks all kinds of mediocre. Some of the models look low on the poly count.

hmm, not a great trailer...but the game looks pretty good graphically, certainly not in the league of FFXIII, but decent nonetheless. Perhaps lairs engine would have been better for this game than UE3 though considering large scale battles

peace

So is this S-E's answer to Lost Odyssey?
LO is Mist Walkers response to FF, so how in the world did you imagine this was SE's response?

Anyway, did you guys notice that pop-in on textures? LOD seems pretty problematic...

Felt the exact same way...

so im the only guy that liked what he saw in the verry short trailer, wow :D

i hope this is one of those games that surprises the shit out of you close to release.

Looks like typical Square-fare in terms of art and such, its a shame the ground textures are still PS2-quality.

It's interesting that this game is progressing faster than FF XIII, on two consoles, for a worldwide release, on an engine they licensed less than 6 months ago.

But look how it looks compaired to XIII

What are you talking about? They still look like DBZ characters. :lol

You are aware that there's a very, very good reason for that, right?

I wonder how it will play.

People poo pooing the graphics forget about that.

And the graphics don't look that bad anyway. Sure, it's not going to beat FFXIII, but that's what you get when you go multiplatform.

Yeah, right. Being multiplatform has nothing to do with it looking like a HD PS2 game with crappy normal maps and bad LOD, it's BUDGET... well, and maybe dev inability, but you can't know for sure with that. As to how it'll play... that's kinda hard to say, but I imagine a lot like the Romancing SaGa games, we'll have to wait and see.

Of course, Toriyama's artwork is unmistakable. But this guy made it sound like they'd butchered the original character art for the sake of Western audiences, and from what I can tell it still looks the same.

Although I hated the screens that trailer didn't look bad at all. I'm cautiously optimistic...

Yeah I don't know what you all are looking at. This looks nice. Not best graphics but defiantly not bad.

I'm interested to hear more. Depending on how the battle system works this could either be great or terrible.

Hopefully it's at E3.

I'm not sure what people are expecting out of graphics that have to cover this many simultaneous soldiers, however. Last I heard, army size can get up to 70+ per side, so we're talking like 140 characters on screen plus those gigantic remnants. That'll have an effect on individual models, for sure.

Ah, the trailer we were promised by those Spike tv guys. Finally.

It looks alright to me. Kind of uninspired.
