The movie gets too much hate, you wanna see a bad sequel go see Jurassic Park 3, that movie should not exist.

Anyway...

I love this movie, it's my favorite sequel, but the scene with Kelly and the raptor is so bad, I wonder what they were thinking (probably not at all) when they made it.

The cast is also pretty awesome.

You got Richard Schiff, Peter Stormare, Pete Postlethwaite (RIP), Julianne Moore, Vince Vaughn and Arliss Howard.

Also, did anyone see this on the big screen when it premiered? I didn't im afraid.

This and Jurassic Park are two movies I regret not seeing on the big screen.

Hope for a re-release.

I saw all the Jurassic Park movies on the big screen.

I remember Jurassic Park 1 was the first PG-13 movie I ever saw. I begged my mom to see it and she finally buckled. Felt like the best day of my life. 9 years old and saw a crazy dinosaur movie.

But then later seeing Lost World, even at a young age, I remember thinking "well that kind of just sucked."

bad movie. based on a bad book, and it didn't even follow that.

Gratuitious "trex rampage in san diego lawl" scene was embarrassing.

I just rewatched it on Cinemax last weekend. There is nothing to appreciate. Besides Goldblum and Postlethwaite, every single character is an annoying idiot.

Just saw it recently for the first time in probably 10 years. Jeff Goldblum' seems to be getting sick of the Jeff Goldblum shtick at that point, and the inclusion of his daughter was completely unnecessary and borderline insulting.

Everything else was fine, but pales in comparison to the original.

but gymnastics! Gymnastics beats dinosaurs every time.

Not as good as the original of course, but I enjoyed the dark, free-roam horror aspect, and it has all the setpieces you'd expect.

Opening scene from Uncharted 2 obviously pinched a thing or two from the movie.

ya i caught it on max over the weekend as well, i cant believe they let the girl do gymnastics and actually drop kick a raptor, might've been the dumbest thing ever.

Besides Goldblum?

PS. The one other guy I didn't think was an annoying idiot got eaten in two trying to help out the "main" characters. What a fucking bunch of bullshit.

Haven't seen it since its theatrical run. The only part I recall is when the T-Rex is set loose in the city. I think a little girl says at some point "Mommy there's a T-Rex in the backyard."

God that was stupid as hell, even for my 8 year-old self.

Yeah, every single scene the little kid was in was a complete and utter disaster. The book (which I read before seeing the movie) had two, but neither of them was quite so obnoxious. Still, sometimes, I fucking hate Spielberg for his need to put a 'childlike sense of wonderment' so literally into his films.

Should have been a movie of Dinosaurs eating people, not fucking kids running around. Made sense in the first one, not in the second.

But anyways....

Now the Lost World videogame, that was fantastic. Perfect progression of characters from itty bitty Compy to a T-Rex (why aren't there more games where you play a Tyranosaur?!). Human Prey levels are fantastic too.

Pretty sure this video has the ENTIRE GAME being played: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4svzPI6lqI

And my favorite level. No weapons, gotta use the T-Rex to clear your path through the camp, and he chomps down on all the soldier bastards as you go swinging past all Bionic Commando-like. Fuck yaw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4svzPI6lqI&t=1h46m31s

But what really gets me is the music. I had a friend (who's a huge film and score buff) give it a listen and he called it the best John Williams impression he's ever heard. And what surprised me; the score was done by Michael Giacchino, who went on to do the Star Trek reboot's soundtrack.

Here's my favorite tracks from it;

The Primordial Forest (Compy 1)
Into the Trees (Human Prey 1)

Great game based on an OK movie; Gamers got the better end of the deal with this one.

Fuck, even the BOARD GAME was cooler than the movie, it had all of these cardboard buildings you plopped on the map and the humans moved slow but could hide in the buildings and jump between them, while the dinosaurs moved fast as fuck on the ground but could only get into the buildings at a single point.

When I was a kid my parents took me with them to see a late night screening of the film. Unfortunately, I fell asleep before the movie even started and slept through the entire film. I was really disappointed when I woke up and realized that I slept though it.

The Lost World was brilliant. One of the best comedies ever made.

The movie also played dinosaur behavior into the plot. That was easily one of the best part of the movie. Half the movie was driven by T.rex parental instincts. How many movies do that?

Ok, it's by no means a great movie, but man do I love it.

Yep exactly. It was terrible and still is.

I recall not liking it very much, but the last time I saw it was probably 10+ years ago. I always seem to catch JP and JP3 on TV, but never this one (if it is on, it's on a channel I don't have).

The trailer t-rex attack scene was rather good, but everything else ranged from "alright" to "pretty bad".

Summer blockbusters have never been as good after Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park.

Also, the Lost World arcade shooter was one of the best light gun shooters ever made. Absolutely glorious.

Saw this opening day. Didn't leave as excited as after the first one but it was still ok. Was torn on seeing t-rex wreck the resting city since it seemed a little lame that she managed to escape like that, but it was ok as a little "Godzilla" moment. Think I'll have to watch this now.

It's playing on Cinemax this month and it is still one of the worst Spielberg movies. However, the effects easily trumps the other JP's by a mile.

The action scenes are top notch too but it's all so pointless.

Nope. But I always watched the show with the sound off, I just watched it because of the two actresses

Indeed, indeed...

The Lost World film is still cool. People hate on it for ludicrous reasons, but it delivered big thrills and awesome set pieces. Yes we could have done without the Gymnastics scene, but too bad, it's in there and it's silly. The rest of the film holds up well, I still feel bad for the chubby bald dude :( and Roland Tembo will always be a badass in my book.

Jurassic Park 3 was better.

The characters are fucking morons.

"Hey let me go to an island by myself with no protection so I can take pictures."

"Hey let's park our van and vehicles by a cliff! I'm sure if we're ever chased back here they won't fall off"

"Hey lets send out a team of hunters who DON"T EVEN KNOW THE FUCKING NAME OF THE DINOS!"

"Hey, let's let those dinosaurs out because clearly keeping animals in activity is wrong....wait...zoos? FUCK YOU!"

"Hey see that injured T-Rex? LETS BRING IT BACK TO THE GODDAMN TRAILER AND PATCH IT UP!"

"Hey...let's steal these guys bullets robbing him/them of their ONLY MEANS OF PROTECTION"

"Let's bring a T-Rex back to the mainland!...Who somehow magically ate the crew without damaging the ship... and got trapped back inside the cargo hold too!"

"T-Rex rampage throughout San Diego! RAWR!"

I actually liked the book. A lot.

As to the movie? I like all 3 movies. I like 2 the least though. I think 3 is much much better than people give it credit for.

If you want to just watch dinosaurs fucking shit up, I don't see what the issue is with 3.

Agreed except T-Rex should have remained the star or at least figured more prominently.

Yea, I'm surprised you said the cast, because everything about them aside from Goldblum feels second rate background character lame. Sam Neill alone > all them.
