The resolution of the iPhone SE is 1136x640. That's a hell lot better than I expected. I might pick one up as a backup to my 6s+

Biggest complaint is the lack of a MacBook Pro upgrade, and I don't think that's a very huge announcement... the yearly revision for a computer that hasn't been updated in over a year. It was expected, but Ithink a lot of people were still hoping for a small mention of it.

Bummed we have to wait until June likely for the MBP announcement.

I think the chips are just coming out now for the MBP, maybe there's a redesign too. I'm hoping for a space gray/space black one.

So subsidized contracts for phones are still a thing? I remember reading that they were going away.

Only Verizon or AT&T but whether they're worth it is another whole thing.

Line fee:
Verizon - $40 on contract, $20 off - $480 saving over two years getting your own phone
AT&T - $40 on contract, $15 off 5GB or less - $360 saving over two years getting your own phone
AT&T - $40 on contract, $25 off 15GB of more - $600 saving over two years getting your own phone

So the only plan worth sourcing an iPhone SE on is if you're on AT&T 5GB or less data plan. Otherwise it's cheaper to pay installments.

The SE has the same screen size and resolution as the 5 (2012) and 5S (2013).

iPad Air 2 remains the GOAT iPad.

Isn't the GOAT iPad the Mini 2? Mostly the same as the Air 1 (worse color reproduction and slightly slower clockspeed) but smaller/lighter/less expensive?

Yes. Twice.

He did the hands together thing a couple of times today. Am I incorrect in attributing that to Steve? Seemed to fit with the memories segment near the end.

Joswiak (sp?) is a terrible presenter, he read off the prompter almost exclusively. I don't really enjoy Schiller on stage either. I was looking forward to seeing Hair Force One up there but he was glued to his seat.

Interesting that they kept the same design as the 5S. I wonder how much money the case maker people just lost since they were rumoured to go to a curved shell like the 6/6S.

Holy crap. The iPad Pro 9.7" costs 689€ in Germany. 869€ for 128gb. That's like... almost 1000€ with the Pencil. Uff.

It will be obsolete in 5 years. Better spending that on a Windows laptop which 600 million people find to be more durable

$1000 CAN for a 128 GB iPad Pro, lol. Fuck that, it is priced at a 75 cent loonie, which is not bad, but no one I am getting this, I'd rather buy a macbook.

That new SE is going to run like butter with the innards of a 6s but with the 5s resolution. They are going to sell a lot of those phones.

So happy about the iPhone SE, I hope the smaller model is not a "once every three years" or something like that.

I just bought a 16GB iPhone 5 from someone yesterday so I'm keeping my eyes open for a viable upgrade in the future. I'm hoping that they don't remove the headphone jack on iPhone 7 or I might be switching to Android.

i dont know how successful iphone small is going to be, sure it will sell decent but i dont think its a game changer or anything. most people are always drawn to flagships + 4 inch screen is tiny. think its created for developing countries.

ipad pro is pretty meh for that price, the real steal is ipad air 2 for that price its awesome. seriously the best tablet out right now.

smart watches are just a fad right now, complete gimmick.

edit. he ipad pro camera bump is tragic. seriously tragic.

Every 18 months maybe? Seems reasonable.

From a business standpoint it makes sense. People who want to upgrade to the new hotness do so and drive up the ASP, then the smaller version comes along to clean up more budget-conscious shoppers.

Most likely if a five-year-old computer works fine for you a five-year-old iPad Pro will too.

For the SE, I was expecting only a $100-150 price drop from the 6S, but $250? With the A9 processor, upgraded camera and Apple Pay?

This is almost un-Apple like to sell something for so cheap. They're going to sell tonnes of those to 4S-5S users.

I'm curious to see if any US carriers will have promotions for the SE. If I can swap out my Jump-On-Demand (T-Mobile promo plan) 128GB 6S for a 64GB SE with lower monthly payments, I'd do so. Likewise, if there's a reasonable trade in offer for my wife to go from her 32GB 5S to the 64GB SE, we'll probably take it.

Looking at case options for the iPad Pro, and holy shit the silicone case for the 12.9" version is £65! Why? I know there's a brand markup but wow, I see 3rd party silicone cases all the time for < £5.

No watch body improvement and no 12-inch MacBook update is disappointing. Did they basically just announcing more sizes of existing products?
