The Medium delayed to Jan 28

People expected next-gen to be about one-upping each other in terms of graphics and compelling gameplay - turns out they're competing for the next-gen delays.

How the fuck do you delay a game a week before release?

Or was this not launch??

Next gen looking more like Half Cooked (for both MS and Sony).

Well, that sucks, but respect to Bloober Team for trying to make it out to give 2020 something good and also respect for making the hard decision instead of rushing it.

At one point it was described as a launch title, but that was until it was given a release date in December. So, a month delay, possibly a few weeks, ain't that big of a deal.

December is still considered "launch", or "launch period" at least. As long as it's there by Christmas, I feel like I accept a game or product as part of the beach-storming event of a console launch. Heck, if it weren't for Nov/December, the Nintendo 64 may as well not have launched...

This is horseshit! Amongst other exclusives (later on down the line), I was most excited to play this one at launch.

Now...

There's nothing that interests me on Xbox. Im not interested in replaying old games. So I'll hold on to my one X until she shits the bed.

I think some peple dont seem to realize it was listed as Dec 10th launch, it was never a launch game, more launch window.

You just made somebody else very happy. I guess that's your good deed for the day.

Good luck with the 2020 "The Most Wanted Game" Golden Joystick Award... you may win also the 2021 one.

So you cancelled your Series X pre-order last Monday, then pre-ordered again?

PS5 pickup on the 12th along w/ Demon's Souls and Spider-Man Miles Morales U.E.

Xbox series X pre-order cancelled.

I knew it was just a matter of time before they did this once Cyberpunk was delayed to Dec 10th. It's really the best decision for them.

Disappointed because I'm hyped and buying this day one, but understandable. If by the off chance that Cyberpunk doesn't get delayed again, this game won't sell anything until a sale, which means less games like this will be made. I can wait.

Is this the third game that gets out of Cyberpunk way?

Understandable decision by the way, market conditions aside, working QA and final months of development from home is definitely not easy.

I'm very interested in the game and I'm fine in waiting a couple more month.

Bummer, this was the Series X game I was most looking forward to this holiday. Oh well, if it needs more time it needs more time.

Layers of Fear and Observer developer Bloober Team has delayed its upcoming third-person psychological horror The Medium, which will now make its way to Xbox Series X/S and PC on 28th January next year, rather than its originally announced release date of 10th December.

The Medium casts players as the psychically gifted Marianne - a woman haunted by visions of a child's murder - who travels to an abandoned hotel resort in a bid to find answers to her years of torment. Its third-person, semi-fixed camera perspective is a first for Bloober, and is at least in part-inspired by legendary horror series Silent Hill, with the studio even calling on composer Akira Yamaoka to contribute to the soundtrack.

In a statement posted to Twitter, Bloober explained it had made the decision to delay The Medium's release "after careful thought and consideration". According to the developer, "it wasn't an easy choice to make", but ultimately felt like the right move given "the Covid-19 situation in Poland", as well as the "current schedule of other games on the market".

That latter point is almost certainly a reference to the recently revised release date for CD Projekt's massively anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, which is now scheduled to launch on 10th December - The Medium's original release date - and has already caused ripples of schedule re-shuffling among other titles eager to escape its shadow.

Bloober says it "remains committed to delivering our biggest, most ambitious, fear-inducing experience to date", and that the additional development time will be used to add further polish. "Rest assured," it concluded, "the delay will not stop us sharing information with you, and you can expect us to unravel a few more layers of The Medium's great mystery soon."

I think this delay makes sense, who wants to launch on the same day as Cyberpunk?

And if a mod could change the title to make it clearer that by launch I don't mean launch day, that's my bad 🍻

It's a shame to lose another xbox launch title at this stage I think it's smart to launch in January.

Both systems are selling out but the challenge will be to keep interesting after Christmas.

it was not a launch title, it was set to release on December 10th, which you also have in the OP so I don't get why you say launch title in the topic title

"Launch title" that was scheduled to release a whole month after the console launch lol. It was not a launch title.

We all know why. Gotta get some FUD out there to combat the no quick resume and no external storage bad news.

As I have stated before, every single game should have delay after April. They should have taken an extra year to polish and finish their games in a proper way and scrap release dates. This is the one year where is would have been completely acceptable to do it with everything going on.

Remember when we would get hyped for really awesome games? Now people get hyped for The medium and Godfall. Gaming has been such a letdown this past decade.

This was also my reaction when I saw your Mother in real life while she gave 3 Horses a blow Job at the same time!!!

Your Mother is truly incredible, on that day I wished I were a Horse ;)
Lmao shame you got banned for this. I guess the mods don't appreciate beastiality fantasy, maybe they'll be open to that at Ree

Now this is a major blow.....that was the only game that was making me teeter. I just honestly feel bad for the Xbox camp and fans in two to 3 years shits gonna be slamin but right now ouch

Honestly don't understand how you can say sony is undercooked. I guess the only argument you have is most games are on the ps4 too? But then again the ps5 versions all seem to look better so again don't understand this thinking ps5 actually feels like a new machine. The xsx has the same menu same everything and now their only launch game worth note is pushed back two months not even a week before release......
