No there wasn't besides a dogtag. Like the Dinosaurs in BF3/4. Jackfrags and his community went batshit over it.

From what i saw there was only 1 actual ingame reference and then a few things the community linked to it. Those were hints at there being a megalodon in the game already, like the Battlefield Friends video which is on Paracel storm. It seems if they had meant anything in the first place this would of been something added in the game at the start, rather than months later with DLC. The search was completely pointless as it wasn't even in the game.

It's like the dinosaurs easter eggs in BF3, they added one easter egg about them which made everyone want actual dinosaurs, so they kept adding more easter eggs for them. If people hadn't been excited about them, they probably wouldn't of been added.

I think it would've been more interesting if this was a completely unexpected easter egg, rather than something everyone had been anticipating for months.

Someone suggested they used the DLC to mask the fact the model was there, as the DLC uses normal sized sharks of the same model. If this was placed in the OG game, people would have found it in the files.

Wrong. It wasn't in the game because it wasn't what they were hinting at. Battlefield community (specifically Jackfrag's Youtube/Reddit community) ran away with itself over dogtags and things that didn't even connect to what DICE was talking about.
