The Metal Thread |OT2| All Riffs, No Gifs

Wrong, but close, it's Nemesis, with 38. ;) Sadly the "exact match" advanced search parameter will not match something like Némesis (one in Chile too) so you get 36 results, but my database search shows all 38.
Running SQL on the database? That's just cheating.

This actually got me thinking ... of all the bands on M-A, how many are unique?

Hammerheart Records announces deluxe re-issue on O.L.D.'s "Old Lady Drivers" on CD and LP, one of Grindcore's most legendary albums!

One of Grindcore's most legendary recordings will be unearthed, re-worked and presented in a way never heard before. After reaching an agreement this Autumn we are proud the re-issue the only Earache Record never before released on CD in it best/true form.

Originally released as Mosh 7 on Earache Records in 1988 "Old Lady Drivers" by O.L.D. is the last of the Mohicans when it comes to Classic Grindcore from the golden era of Grindcore/Death Metal. As James Plotkin (guitar/vocals) told Hammerheart Records the LP was released with a wrong mix by Earache by mistake...

James Plotkin became known as a producer and influential artist after his O.L.D. days and the re-issue will feature the recordings in the mix originally intented, spiced up with today's technology and features the album plus the "Total Hag" demo 1989 and the "Promo Demo 1990" (later used as a split 7" with Assück) as bonus tracks.

All recordings will be featured in the best audio possible and we will make both the vinyl edition and CD edition a collectable deluxe edition full of lyrics, photos and flyers.

Expected Autumn 2016, we will keep you up to date!

I'm lucky enough to own the first album on vinyl. Never knew it was the wrong mix, which actually gives that album a part of it's charm. Lo Flux Tube needs a re-issue as well.

I was listening to Slugdge while reading that and since all their songs are related to slugs in some way I got randomly curious about how many bands have slug in their name or based around slugs or whatever.

Went and saw Weedeater, Author + Punisher, Today is the Day, and Lord Dying last night.

Was very impressed with Lord Dying. They sounded great. Author + Punisher and Weedeater were good too.

Does anyone have any news on Necrophagist? They've been sIlent for so long.

I know one of the guys (sorry don't remember which one) keeps collabing with a ton of people. I always see "of Necrophagist" on different track or album announcements.

Yoooooo that is an amazing lineup. Jealous. Really wanna see Lord Dying, Author + Punisher and Weedeater.

Infected Desecration
Eternal Scum Supremacy
Sarcoma Damage Victim
Eternal Darkness!
Holocaust Conspiracy (wouldn't be surprised if this is already taken, sadly)

Another song from Vektor's new album coming soon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFaIcjemHvA&feature=youtu.be

I really wanna listen, but I don't want to spoil much of the album before release. :[

In the meantime, I'm listening to Agrimonia's Rites of Separation. What a fantastic album that is.

Overkill and Vader tomorrow night :-D

Killer, I personally never been to a disappointing Overkill show. New release from them this year too, hope they dig further back in their discography for inspiration, had some songs on White Devil Armory that resembled Horrorscope stuff, I want Taking Over attitude on the next one

Yep I'd agree with all of that, Vader are usually fun in Manchester too as all the Polish metalheads that live around the area come to see them, it's in a small venue too!

The best kind of venue if you ask me. I'm a huge polish metal maniac, wish more bands would come to the west coast.

Now going from the Polish scene on to the Danish scene, have you heard the new Artillery yet?

Track from the release

Quite a few good tracks on this one compared to Legions, though I'm still not entirely sold on Michael's vocals, I liked Søren for what he brought on "When Death Comes" but Michael does a better job than on his "Legions" effort in my opinion.

Cheers for that link, I'll have a listen to that later as I've not heard that yet.

After seeing a lot of Vektor mentions decided to listen to their first album, holy shit this is some good stuff.

You have assimilated, fair warning new chump, you might develop a keen sense of elitism knowing you have just heard the best thrash album in the past 20 years and all others are now to be deemed unworthy. The solo in Destroying the Cosmos is the best thing I have heard in years, nothing has touched it.

Huh ... I had no idea Vektor was so well regarded. I love them, but I always just assumed they were generally viewed as rather derivative and boring.

Had to go double check to make sure that was the song I was thinking of and yep. Gonna give their second album a listen tomorrow probably. My friend recommended me Death Penalty's self titled and Cerebral Bore's Maniacal Miscreation as he knows female singers are my thing so I gotta check them out too.

I love them very much since I first heard them back in 06. Though I'm a progressive thrash maniac, it is my favorite sub-genre of thrash, so when Vektor released their debut in 09 I have been hailing it as the most important release of this new era of thrash. I know people disagree with me there, but oh well, Vektor are amazing

Tetrastructural Minds is my favorite on the second release "Outer Isolation"
