Technique is for posers. Y'all ain't down it right if you don't get WHIPLASH!
Veil Of Control is out now. I think I'm going to take a long drive after work and listen to it.Know what? I goofed. I d/led their last album thinking it was their new one. I've preordered their new one and it provided me with the two tracks.
Never had whiplash. Just a slightly sore neck. Y'all doin' it wrong or something!
Isn't it possible to get a concussion?
You can burst a blood vessel or even get an aneurysm at worst.

WTFIsn't it possible to get a concussion?
And or fracturing your spineI'm just kidding, heh. I know there have been a few cases of Metal fans getting a concussion from head banging, but this is obviously a rare case.
And or fracturing your spine
which really did happen to Jason Newstead
My wife calls power metal (stuff like Hammerfall and the like) "Poodle Metal." She's seen and heard many of these bands when she used to be the catering manager at SwedenRock for a number of years. I listen to a large number of power metal bands and she always makes fun of me for it. She really doesn't care for any metal with clean vocals and mostly sticks to black and melodic death metal.

He does indeed, pretty much had to strap his bass to his back because of it.Tom from Slayer has chronic back issues from headbanging no? Maybe something else
I rarely headbang, because I wear glasses![]()
Ah yes, I understand this well enough, LOL.
Who else wears glasses here? *Raises hands*
To be fair I always laugh at people headbanging with no hair, since it looks like they have a water in their ears. I have done it with no hair and hair down past my ass and it is still as satisfying though, having long hair helps in my opinion for some reason
So again... nofunallowed.gif
Huh?
Ohhhh
Now everything is explained. xD
Me, but fortunately I see everything nearer than 100-200 meters just fine. So no glasses for me while doing sports or being at a concert.Ah yes, I understand this well enough, LOL.

Same. Sometimes I'll sub em out for contacts at concerts, but I've learned that if I headbang moderately then they stay on my head.Ah yes, I understand this well enough, LOL.

Why wouldn't they sell you water?Guardian put on an amazing show last night - easily the best of the three times I've seen them, thanks in part to Hansi crushing so many of the screams on the setlist. Normally it's a rare treat when he breaks them out, but he was averaging about one to two gloriously intense bellows per song. He's been my favorite singer for many years, so to hear him channel the rawest depths of his voice with such frequency was incredible - AND I scored a copy of their newest album autographed by the Bards themselves. To top it off I saw Time What is Time, a song I didn't know if I'd ever get see live since they play it so infrequently these days.
One angry encounter with a bartendress who wouldn't sell me water when I was damn near having a heatstroke aside, it was a brilliant night.
Demolition Hammer round 2 tonight
A 16 oz water bottle was five freaking dollars, but they closed the register for the night before Guardian's encore songs (during which my vision went black for a few seconds and I stumbled back into the crowd because I was running on such crippling fumes). I pleaded with her, suggesting that she could keep my $5 bill at the till and just ring it up tomorrow, and she told me to stick my head in the sink of the bathroom (which as you can imagine was filthy by that point in the night) to drink from the faucet. Like a goddam desperate animal. Why wouldn't they sell you water?
Hell, it should be complementary.
Ended up not watching them, apologies. Seemed like half the crowd was getting plastered during the openersAftermath playing the gig as well, let me know how the old dogs sound

Hammer was a good time though
CBS SF: So if you’re already writing for the next Sleep album, how far along are you? Are you still putting together pieces or do you have some songs finished?
Matt Pike: We need to have a few more boot camps in between now and when we’re going to try to record in March. We don’t even know who we’re putting it out with or how we’re going to fund that or whatever. But I do know once we have a finished product, a lot of people are going to buy that up. It’s just a matter of working it out. We have a lot of really, really good tunes. We’re just trying to get to the point where we’re comfortable recording that.
So we have that deadline. And I don’t want Sleep and High on Fire to both have albums coming out at the same time, so I’m going to be recording with High on Fire right after that. We’ll get the Sleep album out and do a little tour with Sleep when that pops up, and then get the High on Fire record out and do extensive touring with High on Fire.
We are in the week of a new Alcest album, for the warm up i would like to recommend two bands that its fans may not know and should.
Oh Hiroshima

Shoegazy like Alcest, it is beautifully played and sang, the atmosphere is somber and gorgeous.
Throes of Dawn

Their new album might be one of my favourites of the year, which kinda shocks me because i always thought they were a forgettable band until now. It's not really Shoegaze, but it's a good mix of Post-Metal/Doom/Ambient/Progressive.
So excited for Kodama.
Are you looking for recommendations? If so check out Frightmare's Midnight Murder Mania. Album ownsI'm in a Ghoul / Impaled mood lately. These two bands have almost the same lineup.
Ghoul is more Thrash Metal, with a lot of silly lyrics that I appreciate. Impaled is more Death Metal with a big Carcass influence, but IMO better than Carcass.

On the topic of Carcass worship there's also Necrony. Early 90s Swedish death take on the early Carcass sound.
Can't agree with Impaled being better than Carcass but obviously opinions
I found a video on YouTube where I can be briefly seen crowd surfing from the BTBAM concert last week lol
