Star Fruit is great for punch bowl.
Grapefruit is awesome to make drinks from, plus grapetonic is easily on the best soft drinks.

Promote Lung Health

If you or someone you love is a smoker, or if you are frequently exposed to secondhand smoke, then making vitamin A-rich foods, such as papaya, part of your healthy way of eating may save your life, suggests research conducted at Kansas State University.

While studying the relationship between vitamin A, lung inflammation, and emphysema, Richard Baybutt, associate professor of nutrition at Kansas State, made a surprising discovery: a common carcinogen in cigarette smoke, benzo(a)pyrene, induces vitamin A deficiency.

Baybutt's earlier research had shown that laboratory animals fed a vitamin A-deficient diet developed emphysema. His latest animal studies indicate that not only does the benzo(a)pyrene in cigarette smoke cause vitamin A deficiency, but that a diet rich in vitamin A can help counter this effect, thus greatly reducing emphysema.

Baybutt believes vitamin A's protective effects may help explain why some smokers do not develop emphysema. "There are a lot of people who live to be 90 years old and are smokers," he said. "Why? Probably because of their dietÂ…The implications are that those who start smoking at an early age are more likely to become vitamin A deficient and develop complications associated with cancer and emphysema. And if they have a poor diet, forget it." If you or someone you love smokes, or if your work necessitates exposure to second hand smoke, protect yourself by making sure that at least one of the World's Healthiest Foods that are rich in vitamin A, such as papaya, is a daily part of your healthy way of eating.

Interesting. I've never had papaya. What's it taste like? Sad part is I've worked a couple years in produce and never bothered to try it.

My vote goes to the pomegranate. When I eat at your restaurant, please stop putting those inedible fucking seeds on my food. Make a sauce with the juice, but leave the seeds out of my dinner, kk?

you need limes to make caipirinhas, ffs
Oh god, beaten when wasn't expecting anymore, but this man speaks the truth!

Caiprinha or Caipirovska (same but with Vodka instead of Cachaça) tells the OP to STFU.

Papaya was my main fruit when living on the Cook Islands, and a vital part of the day. Damn tasty when fresh. Loses all of its taste and is dull as dishwater when imported to Europe.

not my graph

also, watermelons are nice.

the seeds put it in the difficult section. If you think it's tasteless, it's because you never tasted watermelon from the mediterrean.

Limes useless? Yeah right, you can even cook with its juice! I mean, if you have fish or meat, slice it really thin, sprinkle over lime juice and let it sit for a while, the fish/meat will be cooked. The lime juice has special enzymes that start the cooking process naturally, without adding heat or anything. When you order fish carpaccio, it's usually cooked with lime juice. Therefore, I posit that lime is the most useful fruit ever. And it's deliciously tasteful as well.

durians smell like sex. shit, eating durian is like sex. it's smelly, moist, ugly, but you do it anyway.

edit: because it's just so good.

Jackfruit (fresh, not frozen)

most of those fruits are imported into the us/canada though they are nowhere as good as the fresh ripe ones off the tree in asia!

I don't even like the taste of durians (even in candy form).

I also hate raspberries. Not sure why, but it's the sickest most foul smelling fruit in existence. I'd gag when women would pass by me with raspberry body spray.

I've got the same with Coconut.
Who the hell wants to smell like coconut? If you want to smell like something, make it a fresh, nice, light smell. Not a scruffy, warm, danky stink. Yet girls use it all the time: shampoo, deodorant, parfume, body milk.

As a matter of fact, I don't understand how people like to smell like something you can recognise. Sometimes it's OK (in case of flowers), but in general I prefer parfums of which you can't immediately tell what they're made of/meant to smell like.

Grapefruit is good in the morning to get that sleep-breath out of your mouth. I actually just drink grapefruit juice, since it takes way to much time to prepare a real one.

And papayas are the worst. I went on a vacation to Cancun once, had a bunch of fruit for breakfast (all-inclusive :D), and I nearly threw up when I was about to eat the papaya. It smells like vomit. Horrible, I threw it out.

Limes make good seasoning on lots of things, and papayas are delicious.

Also, durians are nature's nail bats so even if you don't eat them, you can't deny they're awesome.

I've had fresh Mangosteen in the US on the East Coast.
Yes... :D

Vietnam's got all of the best fruits. When I was little, I would eat so much different kinds of fruits. But now in the US, the imported fruits are too expensive.

The durian: smelliest, rank fruit I have ever seen. Why the hell do people eat it?

This is the only correct answer and I'm sure even this has a use....maybe....that shit stinks.

The most useless fruit ever grows in my front yard:

Loquats. They taste awful and don't really have any use in cooking.

Without limes I would get SCURVY. :O

Also watermelon is not "tasty". It is water trapped in a fleshy prison. With too many seeds. Ergo your chart is ass, josephdebono.

I cannot forgive your attack on watermelon, Kara.
