"The 3-D in this is amazing!"
It will only show on 8th Dec in my country.
Is "Rainbow Connection" in the movie? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
The Blu-Ray better have a Statler and Waldorf commentary
My friends and I admittedly lost it when Fozzie did this. We thought it was hilllllllarious. Also, my ex's sister worked on the film. Boy does she have some amusing stories. Apparently they smoked weed like, everywhere on the set.My wife and I saw this at the Cinerama in Seattle last night with some friends. One couple brought their 2 1/2 year daughter, it was her first film. She behaved perfectly and loved the film.
As for us adults who grew up on the Muppet Show and the old movies, we all enjoyed it. I remember reading early impressions talking about how the film was dumbed down with toilet humor... my thoughts on it below:
I thought the way Segal and Stoller handled the fart shoes was perfect and necessary. Fozzie wanted them in the telethon, but no one else cared nor did they think they were funny. I found this to be a great commentary on out of touch execs at Disney wanting to incorporate fart jokes into the film when it's childish and unnecessary.
It's in there, sung my the entire Muppet cast near the end.
I didn't watch The Muppets often as a kid (except for watching Muppet Treasure Island religiously), will I enjoy this movie? I assume so, given the great impressions.. But what say you GAF.
Saw this with the wife and kids tonight. Everyone left happy.
What surprised me is how genuine it was. The Muppets have a very distinctive, sincere yet winking and often biting humor and they captured it perfectly. I was expecting to walk out thinking, Disney changed them.
Nope. It's an authentic Muppet move through and through. Sincere, heartwarming, nostalgic and honest, with no bullshit. One of those "they don't make them like this any more" kinds of movies. The kids loved it, my wife and I were bathed in nostalgia and laughed hard at the self-referential jokes. ("Let's travel by map!" is now a permanent part of our vocabulary.)
I lost it when Chris Cooper started rapping.
My wife and I both wanted more Beaker.
Great film. I hope it does well.
Found it on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6GpPTV9ZAc.
I want the "default" lyrics. Hope I can sing along if the actual song will be played near the end!
I don't think AbsoluteZero watched the movie. They play the real version near the end, Kermit sings first and then the entire Muppet crew joins in. It's on the soundtrack too.
I was intentionally trying to mislead him into thinking they ruined the song and when the song played at the end of the film it would blow his goddamn mind.

just got back.
ruined me.rainbow connection
Saw it last night, so good. Movie was straight-up excellent. It was also very sincere, not cheap in any way.
I loved it, I need the soundtrack now..so good.
I really liked it, so many cameosbest was Jim parsons, and whoopi Goldberg, I was like holy shit
I really hope that this begins a resurgence for the muppets.
Also theby the chickens.fuck you
Spoilers about cameos:Mickey Rourke is VERY easy to miss since they only show him looking over as the car comes out on the beach, Jim Krasinski is only in a few scenes and never speaks, and Neil Patrick Harris never says anything and is barely on the screen
Were would you rank this movie in the other Muppet movies. Better than the first?
Just got in from seeing this with my wife, and holy crap I haven't laughed so hard at a movie in a long time.
My wife and I were ranking the Muppet Movies as we were driving home:
1. The Muppet Christmas Carol (We watch it every year)
2. The Muppets (Though we admit it might just be because the humor isn't as outdated)
3. The Great Muppet Caper
4. The Muppets Take Manhatten
5. The Muppet Movie (I've only seen this one once, though, and I think I was five)
6. Muppets in Space
7. Muppet Treasure Island
8. The Muppets Wizard of Oz (We like to pretend this one never happened.)
You really come to appreciate at how talented Jim Henson was and the people that are in charge of The Muppets now. They really do take on a life of their own.
