No, I don't think so.
There was just a reset button caused by losing his memory to a bowling ball. The whole plan of his actually worked

That Rawlf scene was PERFECT.
Sucks that I missed half of the Toy Story thing. I assume it'll be on the dvd?
Yea, I pretty much am Rawlf. That scene told me all I needed to know.
He was always my favorite as a kid. I loved him as the Doctor, and I always felt he kind of didn't get enough credit as the first muppet, but he didn't need it.
Any chance this will lead to another movie or tv show? The magic of Muppets isn't as good without Henson, but I still enjoyed stuff like Muppets Tonight.

I'm still kind of amazed that this is a family movie whereThat's not something you see every day.the bad guy wins.
That is sort of Muppety, really. Not necessarily "emotion must follow comedy", but a mix of the two. That said, the movie tended to go for a much more emotional impact, rather than just comedy after the first act.

I found out from a customer yesterday that the end of the movie was supposed to say "And, be sure to check out ABC next spring for all-new episodes of the Muppet Show!" but no matter how much Jason Segal begged and tried, ABC didn't want to. One thing about the "glitch" that is sorta inconnsistent.
If the glitch in the counter is to be believed, as they really only raised $99,999.99 instead of $9,999,999 then the first pledge was for $0.25 not $25... the phone call would be more than the donation

That's because in the original ending of the movie, they really were only $1 short, and just as Tex was about to take the studio from them, Statler and Waldorf have a small change of heart and say something like, "Well that was actually pretty good! Worth a dollar at least." and throw the final $1 onto the stage.
Just got in from seeing this with my wife, and holy crap I haven't laughed so hard at a movie in a long time.
My wife and I were ranking the Muppet Movies as we were driving home:
1. The Muppet Christmas Carol (We watch it every year)
2. The Muppets (Though we admit it might just be because the humor isn't as outdated)
3. The Great Muppet Caper
4. The Muppets Take Manhatten
5. The Muppet Movie (I've only seen this one once, though, and I think I was five)
6. Muppets in Space
7. Muppet Treasure Island
8. The Muppets Wizard of Oz (We like to pretend this one never happened.)
Holy shit, there's 8 of them? Oh man I gotta check these out.
ITs still making money and there are home video sales to think of also. I'd guess if it could double the cost it will get a sequal. Figure it was 45m ? So $90m would most likely guarentee it. If it could break 100m that be really nice

And then the movie pulls out a complete reversal. It is played for laughs, but it is a deus ex machina regardless.I'm still kind of amazed that this is a family movie whereThat's not something you see every day.the bad guy wins.
SPOILER
For those who have already seen the movie, here's the music video of "Man or Muppet". Contains a lot of scenes from the movie.

Anyone know what's supposed to be on the 3 disc set Amazon's taking preorders on for the blu-ray? It says the soundtrack is a code, so I guess Blu-Ray, DVD, and ?
USA TV station HUB will be showing Muppets Christmas Carol throughout the week for anyone who wants to see more Muppets.

I'm kind of amazed the movie is getting such a huge amount of praise. It was just kind of... lame. That's the best word I can think of to describe it. Also "dumb." There were a couple big laughs and a number of chuckles, but for the majority of the movie I had the same kind of uncomfortable, falling-just-short-of-mildly-amused reaction I'd have to a Dreamworks movie or something. Massively disappointed, especially since I was a huge fan of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
I haven't seen the old movies since I was a kid, but man, I hope they were better than this. The show certainly was. For that matter, a bunch of the Muppet appearances on late-night TV lately were much more amusing then the movie itself.
taking my 5 year old daughter t see this tomorrow, I am 35. think she'll enjoy it? will I enjoy it?![]()
I was surprised at the lack of a Bret McKenzie cameo (or Jemaine), since he did all of the terrific music. I definitely got a "Flight of the Conchords" vibe from every song. I had an ear-to-ear grin the entire time.
Bret McKenzie and Kermit the Frog sing "Life's a Happy Song"
Also, I almost lost it when Donald Glover made his entrance.
I really liked the beginning of the movie, and 80s Robot was fuckin' amazing. That said, the movie tended to go for a much more emotional impact, rather than just comedy after the first act. Still, I loved it and I'll buy it on Blu-ray when it releases.
We saw it again yesterday, repeats for my entire family except my 4-year-old son, whose eyes were glued to it for most of the film... it was just as great a second time. (We're not crazy with spending our money; we actually had several promo tickets from Disney Movie Rewards, heh.)
On Tex Richman's inability to laugh: I actually caught this time that. Totally missed it first time. It's not treated with the importance it deserves.Deadly mentioned it in their struggle on the tower
So is WalterThe only Muppet ever made able to parse his lips to whistle? Seems like a very specific mechanism they'd have to make, and makes the whole thing kind of cool
