My S4 has a 5 inch screen so not worried about size, but hate non replaceable battery, no sd card slot and that it's so expensive. Really expect the Moto line to be cheaper and great for off contract people. At $500 it's almost right with AAA flagships.
2300mah battery in late 2014 is a joke. On an iPhone...maybe, as it's just a better optimized OS. Android though, with a 5.2in screen? Forget about it. You'll be lucky to make it through half a day of moderate usage unless they've got some power saving witchcraft involved.
(My Note 3 is 3200mah, and I can't imagine going without it.)

If this ends up having terrible battery life (considering the jump from 720p to 1080p) I'm getting a Nexus 5. It still has good specs and it might have better battery life even when its was criticized. It's also still a good value when it's $150 less.
I love my moto g. Battery lasts forever even with heavy use. Only thing I dislike is the camera.
Let's wait for the reviews first. 2300mah is really disappointing but let's not judge it yet.I can't use a phone where I have to worry about the battery life, so Moto X is out. Hopefully they'll announce a new Droid phone...I have the current Droid Maxx with amazing battery with all of Moto X features.
Maybe next year...

And not a motorcross thread. That sure is a phone.
Wow. Great review.
Battery life is still the main concern, but everything else look great about this phone.
What I'm thinking is that if Motorola really are in charge of the Nexus X, they're certainly having a super-close look at Android L.
Since L is coming out in less than two months, I think it'd be safe to say that that's the software they have built the Moto X in mind with. That, alongside Project Volta, could make the Moto X's battery much less of a concern than we think.
As far as camera goes, I'd say it won't be a problem at all for most people.
The Verge New Moto X Review is now up.
Looks like a winner to me. The million dollar question of "battery life" seems to be answered with "good enough for a full day, not stellar". I expect Android L will make it fully acceptable for a full day of power use.
I just wish the Moto X had a tad smaller screen. Looks awesome though
I like the brown. Reminds me of my old Zune 30 which was a fantastic device.
But that battery is pretty disappointing. I'd find it tough to go to a smaller battery after having a Droid MAXX with a massive 3500mAh battery.
wow, thats the highest rated android phone ive ever seen from them.
Looking at those reviews and specs... is there any reason to go for this over a One+ One, besides design?
Looks like camera and battery life are still a concern.
Zune was a fantastic device but the brown one had a green tint to it on the edges.
Moto X and the Galaxy Alpha are the android phones that the verge eats up
Anyone feel free to correct me, because I haven't followed it closely but I've heard that the quality and especially color accuracy has been incredibly inconsistent on that phone, which to me, I can't run with.Looking at those reviews and specs... is there any reason to go for this over a One+ One, besides design?

Moto Display + Moto Voice + Moto Assist should be enough. If that's not enough, it's most likely getting the quickest update to L, it has baller call quality and reception, and a front facing speaker.
As for the 1+1 all I hear about are touch screen issues, battery life problems, bad phone signal, color inaccuracy, and gps problems.
So.......
2300mAh and QHD is not gonna happen. If they go down that QHD road, the N6 will likely be a 5.5+" device, that regardless of the bezel will easily manage at least a 3000mAh unit, which should make battery life less of a concern. If the Nexus 6 has an equally anemic battery, I will rage, especially if they go with a 2k screen as the rumors suggest.

I don't know why but Motorola phones have always looked crazy ugly to me. I havent fucked with their design since like the original Droid.

Wooden backs are a crime against humanity.
Another glowing review from PC Mag
Although it looks like they rushed this out after seeing the Verge review show up, still missing some important data, like battery.
EDIT: Although it looks like ArsTechnica has posted their review of the New Moto G, and there are some New Moto X benchmarks hidden in there...
:*)
Hoping for a ton more Moto X converts this year.
