"The Nightman Cometh" is the best individual sitcom episode ever

Dee's dating a retarded person is a better episode imo. Then again, most all of the episodes are great.

It's easier to think of episodes I don't like. Which is 2:
Who pooped the bed and franks brother.

Those are the only truly weak episodes imo.
Whaaaaaaaat

Who Pooped the Bed is great

"Poop is funny!"

Is the swingers club the same episode as the glory hole? I'm not saying it's my favorite but I smile every time I remember those scenes.

And dr mantis tobagon, wrestling, "surrender!", troll toll, camping and smoking crack.

I was at the performance in San Francisco and it was amazing. They basically performed the entire episode live.

But the best episode was not Nightman Cometh, but it was the birth of Nightman in "Sweet Dee is Dating a Retarded Person."
Chemical toilet for life

The blackface episode, well the first one, absolutely wrecked me when they did that final reveal at the end of the episode of the Juggalo Kid in black face. I was done at that point. Also Frank's sex scenes! "And here's the turn..."

Season 11 is hit and miss, but it has an episode to rival this one IMO.

Mac & Dennis Move To The Suburbs is like a horror film mixed in with a regular episode of It's Always Sunny. It feels like their attempt to do The Shining, but with Mac & Dennis, and by the end the recurring motifs are so funny that they elicit a laugh simply by a noise on the soundtrack or a look.

And the 'Crazy' montage is absolutely stunning.

Plus it adds credence to the 'Dennis is a serial killer' overarching story line because eventually Wally disappears from the episode without a trace.

Didn't even think of that. I want to believe.

It IS a hot one, though.

Really? I thought it felt like a strained attempt to stretch a single great joke into an entire episode.

It reminded me of the later Simpsons seasons where they started doing entire episodes about Comic Book Guy and Disco Stu or whatever. It's not bad by any stretch and the troll toll/boy's hole bit is classic, but it never struck me as the best episode ever.

I had the same impression. I actually fell off of It's Always Sunny for YEARS after this ep. It felt like fan service. I fucking HATE fan service.

One of my favorite episodes is Mac Day.

Country Mac was hilarious as was "occular pattdown" and oiling down the body builders lol

Edit: lol and The World Series Defense is a classic as well Riot punch ftw

Edit #2: lollolo The Gang gives Frank an Intervention is also a classic. Wine in a Diet Coke can is hella classy.

Actually any episode that focuses on frank coming unhinged is a classic.

Finally watched all episodes. Fucking great show. But no one here in the UK watches it! I know 1 person who has watched it.

The episode where they have a fancy dress party (Halloween ?) and each of them recalls the nights events differently...so funny.

And recalling talking to Dee...but shes an ostrich in his flashback !

This company is being bled like a stuck pig, Mac, and I've got a paper trail to prove it; check this out.

Take a look at this! That right there is the mail. Now let's talk about the mail. Can we talk about the mail, please, Mac? I've been dying to talk about the mail with you all day, okay? Pepe Silvia. This name keeps coming up over and over again. Every day, Pepe's mail is getting sent back to me. Pepe Silvia. Pepe Silvia. I look in the mail, well THIS WHOLE BOX IS PEPE SILVIA! So I say to myself, I gotta find this guy. I gotta go up to his office. I gotta put his mail in the guy's goddamn hands otherwise he's never gonna get it. He's gonna keep coming back down here. So I go up to Pepe's office and what do I find out, Mac? What do I find out? There is no Pepe Silvia. The man does not exist! Okay. so I decided, ohhhhh shit, buddy. I gotta dig a little deeper. There's no Pepe Silvia? You gotta be kidding me. I got boxes full of Pepe. Alright, so I start marching my way down to Carol in HR. And I knock on her door and I say "CAAAAAAROL. CAAAAAAAAAAAROL. I gotta talk to you about Pepe." And when I open the door, wha' do I find? There's not a single goddamn desk in that office! THERE. IS. NO. CAROL IN HR. Mac, half the employees in this building have been made up. This office is a goddamn ghost town.

Yes, I love this episode.

Every time I watch Mac Day I wonder why Seann William Scott hasn't gotten more work lately. He's so good in that episode.

Dee Reynolds: Shaping America's Youth is another favorite of mine. It has lethal weapon 5 and juggalos.

The one with Frank's brother gets me hard too.

I know it's somewhat derided, but seeing Jon Polito acting like he's 20 and Danny DeVito acting like he's 12... Lance Reddick's various appearances... and that fucking ending...

I didn't realize it was Lance Reddick until he came in with the black panther look on. Before that he looked like Charlie Murphy in the Rick James skit from the Chapelle Show.

Yep, I love that episode. I don't understand the hate for it. But I'm a big Jon Polito fan. I used to work for his brother.
