Part of it for me was that it really didn't do anything to move the story forward, but then again, that was probably the point, considering they were capturing a big audience following the Super Bowl and didn't want to confuse them with some of the on going plot points.
Speaking of which, it's so weird that there's no fallout from the Andy/Angela/Dwight stuff. It was forgotten immediately.

That intro was one of the best things I've seen in a long time. Throwing the cat into the ceiling was the icing on the cake.

"I'm okay with the logic" :lol :lol

Oh yeah. I agree. The open was hilarious. But I was surprised when the opening became the premise for the show. Usually it's some random thing that rarely leads into what the show is actually about. :lol

Dwight and the dummy made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe.

I also need an avatar-sized pic of Creed's face after Oscar fell through the ceiling.

My favorite part was the cat through the ceiling even though the preview during the Super Bowl ruined the surprise of that scene for me. The other great part was when they started doing the Staying Alive and even Creed was getting into it.

I'm only like 20 minutes into it.. but they are bringing it really hard this episode. :lol

I am also very glad that nothing major in the plot/story line happened in this episode. I just got in to the show recently and have been watching episodes on my friends netflix account through XBox Live.

I am still at the point where Pam and Roy are together but I love the dynamic between Pam and Jim and can't wait to watch more episodes. I think I am on episode 18 in season 2.

Wow, that really was one of the best episodes of The Office ever. They really brought it for the big Super Bowl ep, hopefully a lot of the first-timers who will have been exposed to the show from that monster lead-in will stick around!

Oh and thanks IGN for that 7.4 review, LOL. Not only was it a ridiculous lowball, but it really demonstrates the penetrating specificity of your review scale. Not a 7.3 or 7.5 but a 7.4. Thanks IGN, now I know *exactly* how good you thought the episode was.

"Pam and Jim are Film geniuses":lol

:lol That was like the best line in the episode. Just the way he puts in head on his hand in almost amused defeat.

"Maybe I can review food. These muffins are bad. Or art! This painting is bad."

Of course I'm going to get slaughtered for saying this, but I didn't particularly like this episode. It had some funny parts, but way too much of it felt out of character for the show. It just got wildly absurd at some points. The cameos were completely wasted (Did anyone even crack a smile at the movie they were watching? If so, your standard for 'comedy' must be ridiculously low). Just another episode of The Office that didn't need to be an hour long. It felt like a B-reel of gags that weren't quite good enough to make it into other episodes. Oh well, hopefully it will be back in form next episode.

Kind of the way I felt as well. With out the context of the regular storyline, it just felt odd at times.

I also agree. I just don't find Dwight funny at all anymore, he makes me angry.
Also, the baby scare will be f'ing lame

I found it hilarious. Particularly since I've seen Harold and Maude. "Standards" or maybe just different tastes?

I don't think this is going to be about her having Jim's baby, I tink that's just a throwaway line showing how stupid Michael is (since Jim and Karen split up a couple of years ago).

How is this a spoiler when they showed it in the preview? I mean, it can't be THAT big of a deal if it's in the preview to begin with, and it's not like The Office is Lost or something where major spoilers turn the direction of the show. It's a sitcom.

what happened to ryan? i dont remember seeing him since he moved back to his old seat after pam got back...
He went on that trip with high school students. There was probably a deleted scene that confirmed his departure.

Yeah, Dwight has been way out of control for the past couple episodes. The character is supposed to be a sycophant, but he has been running around like royalty for the last few weeks, especially with in regards to how he has acted with Michael.

Ryan went to Thailand and hit Kelly up for money just before leaving.

whaaaaat...dont remember anything about thailand. although i vaguely remember him asking kelly for money...i should rewatch. anybody remember the episode?

also, did they do this because bj novak left the show? or will he be coming back

He went to film Inglorious Bastards. I believe Greg Daniels recently said Ryan is expected back on the show.

I'm pretty sure that was the spoiler from the next episode that this guy decided was okay to post.
hey idiot, are you sure about that?

please stop crying and stop cutting yourself while reading gaf, ok?

Oh god I hope not. The funniest thing about the Jim/Pam thing has been how they've teased all the standard post-get-together plot twist cliches only to have them *not* happen-- she came back from school, they are still happy, etc. It's daring to actually have them *stay* happy rather than use it as cheap dramatic fodder.
Definitely. Please don't do some bullshit cliche breakup thing. Please.

I'm pretty sure the many NBC ads where Michael is asking Karen when she last slept with Jim are a dead giveaway. The conclusions seem to be the only spoilers, NBC always advertises a revelation to get the audience in.

I'm pretty sure it won't be Jim's considering that between Dinner Party and this season Jan has gotten pregnant and had a baby. This will turn out just to be something stupid that Michael says.

I'm not making guesses, I'm just stating the obvious ads which people are ripping into that other guy who posted about spoilers.

Yeah, I kind of just quoted the latest post about the previews not really meaning that you were implying anything. Probably should have replied to Firestorm who complained about what would be a bullshit way of ending Jim and Pam.
My point still stands for anyone who thinks this is anything more than a "omg, no way!" attempt to draw people.
