Well, what I learned from announcing today, Matt Cassel was drafted as a pitcher, and Tom Brady was drafted as a catcher. So now we know how that locker room operates.

Jay Cutler=Best QB in the draft--i've said that many times. I'm just happy that the Cards too Leinart over him. Cutler is a franchise QB no doubt.

the best part was that like 3 of the 4 guys on Around the Horn picked the Bears to win the NFC :lol

Alex Smith tearing them a new one?! Thats it Bears fans! PACK IT UP! Theres always next year!

Hrm...Cassel has played every series except the first an there's only 2 minutes left in the game, do the Patriots even have a third-string QB?

Is there some sort of mental block preventing Smith from a passing TD? It's almost freakish how much he avoids it, even from the 3.

Im excited to see the Cardinals tommorow. Believe it or not a few of my friends are cardinal fans. Supposeldy every game is sold out this year, including the preseason opener. That means I have something to watch when Eagles games go to commercial break. The new stadium looks amazing.

Apparently the view is great on 1st round holdouts though!

:lol :lol :lol That was funny when Tim C Started getting into Brian Griese

I have no clue; I didn't even see alex looking for him all game either though. They didn't send him deep on any of his rotations, which sucked because dude obviously had some speed over whoever was covering him. I think they were just using him mainly as a blocker, which is very stupid, hope he gets some throws to him next game.

wow d-love is looking fantastic. 5 catches for 54 yards. could be a great late round pickup for us.

mike rumph was a piece of shit this game. i think he is going to be cut. nolan doesn't really give a shit about your draft stature or past accomplishments. if you dog it out there you are out of here. it has been proven time and again (winborn, rattay, woods, hamilton, etc).

i like the way nolan runs the team. very professional unlike dennis doesn'tcareickson

yeah d-love was very damn good, he had like 100+ complete yards (returning kicks + his 54 yards recieving. For returning kicks though, I still think Brandon Williams is a great pickup, dude goes really low for each catch - making sure he catches it before he starts running.

Mike rumph ****ing sucks. He missed like two easy tackles, where he could've stopped huge gains for chicago; and i also agree about what you said about nolan, if you don't play up to his par he'll dump your ass.

Lastly, THANK GOD we got rid of mccarthy this season, i always hated how he called plays. Even though we didn't have much last year, it was ALWAYS run run pass 3- and out. Hated that shit.

Lions didn't look so bad last night. Looked better than last year. Kevin Jones should be back to his old self now that Marinelli has got the O-Line blocking decently again. Roy Williams had a sweet grab in coverage and held onto it as John Lynch laid him out. Kitna had a 12 yard run that was kind of bogus cuz you could tell the linebacker had him lined up to murder him and pulled up cuz it's preseason and all. I literally rolled my eyes after watching that play.

Charles Rogers will probably be cut from the team :lol

Mike Williams had a sweet catch, laying out for one on the one yard line. Guess when the kid shows up he can make a grab or two.

Our defensive rookies looked sweet. Bullocks, Sims and McCann will all be starting by the end of the year, and Bullocks and Sims have the capability to be all-stars in the league. These guys are the real deal and I believe the hype now. Sims was everywhere and just trying to level everyone. Only bad play he had is after he broke through a block on a screen pass, he went one on one against tatum bell and tried to arm tackle him (GRR!). But Denver has one WR who went for a catch and McCann came out of nowhere to knock it down from the front while bullocks just lined the guy up from behind and blasted him.

I'm definitely excited about this team.

And I'd be pissed if I was a big time Broncos fan and Cutler wasn't playing by the end of the year. He looked far better than Plummer, and for those first couple drives he was doing it against the same defense that Plummer was going against. Must make Shanahan feel a bit more comfortable to know that if Jake gets hurt, he's probably got a better QB waiting in the wings. It's like Atlanta, only with more talent.

Ok, some quick thoughts on our game last night.

Vick looked ok. 3/4 for 26 yards, and the one incomplete pass was a ball that Roddy White should have easily caught. Michael Jenkins seems to be really going after the ball. The running game looks like good as always. Roddy White disappointed me, considering all the talk there was about how good he was doing in training camp. Still it's just the first game so I will cut him some slack.

The first string defense.....wow and I don't mean that in a good way. Tonight looked like a continuation of last season. Our D is still letting people gash us up the middle. The first series they looked awful, but they looked like they were starting to get it together at the end of the second series. I'm not going to panic just yet since it's the first game, but the coaches have got to get this shit straighten out whether it calls for picking up a big DT through FA or what.

Schaub wasn't all that impressive from what I saw. What was funny was in the section I was sitting this guy screams out "Come on Schaub, show 'em how a real QB is supposed to play", and the very next play Schaub proceeds to throw an interception in the endzone Yeah that's truely a QB who needs to replace Vick. A guy who throws a INT in the endzone against a 2nd string defense. Don't get me wrong, I like Schaub and I hope he balls out during the preseason because he needs to raise his stock up in the league so we can get some good compensation for him.

Bryan Randall didn't look so hot. He's going to have to really pick it up if he wants to beat out D.J Shockley for the 3rd QB spot because Shockley is far and away the fan favorite.

Michael Koenen and Jerious Norwood were the big stars of the night in my mind. It looks we may not have to worry so much about our place kicker situation. Koenen was on point. I heard that he kicked a 63 yard FG that split the uprights in practice. And Norwood....jesus. Dude is fast as all get out. It looks like if he gets out in to open space, then it's a rap. Head my words boys , Norwood has the potential to be a serious problem for the rest of the NFC South.

Damn I missed the Giants game :(

Is it true that our DTs sucked big time? (Who were the starters? Joseph/Robbins?)

Yes and yes.

Cofield and Kiwanuka looked ****in great though, especially Kiwi. he was very fast and agile, reminded me of Freeney.

Hmmmmm.... Wow Alex Smith looked pretty good judging from the highlights and the game stats. Pretty encouraging for the niner contingent on here.
