360? I had to change my xbox dns settings to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 in order to connect.

So.. how many missions are in the multiplayer as of now?
Nine, I believe. Some need to be played through to get to others. And for each of those nine, there are C,B and A versions (C being the easiest and the other letters progressively more difficult with greater level requirements to play).

2 in GUARDIANS
3 in Parum
5 in Neudaiz

Each with C, B, and A

First off. S isnt available for Force at this time. Not to mention when you goto ForteTecher, you'll be extremely gimped statwise. (Hello 500-600 MaxHP) There's also the issue of even being able to use any of the newer equip anytime earlier. Its been said folks couldnteven use a decent bow until lvl 59 and at least job 4-5. Next, youre looking at millions. Then again, maybe people are us are dumb enough to price things low.

I meant Fortecher of course, once it comes out. And **** that noise. Unless they up the money you get in Moatoob by a SHITLOAD. And I haven't seen anyone with close to my cash.

Give some examples please.

And are you sure that isn't just offline? I know a guy playing offline and he is playing like 500k for S rank items... is it still that expensive online? Jesus ****ing christ.

I'll be fine when I switch classes. Our group is way too powerful for all the available missions... and we'll get back up to level 10 in a day or two.

7s weaponary is 90k in store. 110k for the 8s Board. That's A rank currently. And the material for building 8s is pretty pricey. You're looking at needing Ebon series of wood (4k in store a piece), Vestarin (6k a piece in store). Not to mention you need good luck. Then theres making the armor, which is nearly 1/2 a million per try. The only way to make money in PSU is grind grind grind! OR sell weapons in player shop. Of course, its an issue if no one can even afford the higher goods.

edit: and ahahahah. leveling expert classes is the biggest grind you'll ever face. theres no possible human way to reach lvl10 in 1 day. Maybe in a week. For causal playing itd take a month probably.

Another aspect I don't like, the grind. Everything is now grind grind grind, do the same stages over and over. Whatever happend just playing the game for fun, just hoping a rare would pop out. I used to play PSO to progress through the game not just grind one stage over and over.

Anyway single player presents the levels so much better. It actually gives it to you as one giant stage with a sub-boss and then the major boss at the end. I assume this is how the levels will be when the real quests open up in online mode. Well I can finally see our closed off third planet now in single player :D

Well its the prolonged MMO stance its going towards. More to do! But as Ive said before, if you want to be anywhere decent, youre gonna have to dedicate a bit of time.

SOS!

If anyone's on right now, Gyrian Seed and I are on the Temple of Fanatics level, and we need a hand if we're going to fight the mechanical boss.

We're on Universe 15, and you'd need to fight through the first Islands mission to get to us. OR, you could join a random public game on the Islands that's been running for a while (check the time elapsed), jump to that game's block three, then join our party. GAF is the name of the room, pw 2002.

awesome game everybody - we ripped through that robot level pretty quick! if it wasn't so damn late I'd probably keep goin, but 6 hours of psu is good for one night.

looks like I still plan on getting PSU afterall. :) Some comments were kinda scaring me away but I think I'll give it a shot anyway. Though I'm still wondering if the PS2 version would be a better investment for me..

I am having a weirddd problem with the 360 voice chat.
I can't hear anyone but they can hear me..
My headset is fine as I tested it with friends on my xbox live list.
Not going through a router but straight into the 360.
I had perfect voice chat in the beta but not now...

Any ideas???

just got to level 17 tonight and liking the game but voice chat would help...lol

open ports on your router.

88 2074, 3074. reset 360. done.

If anyone could explain the mechanics of locking on targets, that would be great. Sometimes it works for me, but most of the time, I find myself shooting at the wrong direction than I intended to.

I don't remember much about PSO, but I do recall that most zones have no lack of mobs to kill. However, in PSU, a lot of the open areas down on the planets are so sparse, so much empty spaces. The fact that people still skip around on my screen is really hard to ignore, maybe my connection just suck lately, but witnessing creatures being attacked by someone else without actually seeing their character model, kind of ruins the experience.

Sigh. I'm grinding away to 20,000 Mesetta so that I can buy a nice shirt =|

Can someone explain again how to make a weapon grinder so that I can upgrade my stuff? I seriously do not understand it.

Try this:

Boot the 360 without the game in. Log into Xbox Live (or let it auto-login), THEN boot up PSU. People keep talking about opening ports etc, but there are a LOT of complaints about voice in the game and setting your router does not help in many cases. My friends and I all had the ports open. Then had our systems plugged straight into our modems (as you said you have it). We still couldn't hear each other in-game. Hope this helps. It worked for all of us though we only just tried it last night.

You need to buy a grinder board from the synth shop, insert into your mag - then use the grinder base items you find to create them (through synthesis). The tedious thing is you need to bring the grinder and unequipped weapon to the correct planet.

okay, i checked pso-world but couldn't find any great expalanation on stats. i'm just about to buy my 6600meseta armor but i have a couple options that either increase TECH or Mind. so i'm assuming my photon arts will be more powerful if i upgrade the TECH stat, but won't that be the case with Mind as well? can someone please link me to a good site that has explanation on all stats?

Been up and down lately but I believe the descriptions were:

TP is short for Technique Power. It indicates how proficient your characters are with TECHNICS in general. As such, TP is currently deemed useful only to Forces.

MST is short for Mental Strength. It indicates how much damage your character takes from offensive Techniques

Sorry, I know I missed you the other night. Got caught up in a solo run, then you were mid-mission so I let ya be. I'm switching Uni's tonight. I'll run in 15 from now on. Meet up w/ some more of you guys.

I'll look for you tonight if/when I'm on.

I'm going to hop on for a bit later.

There are still a bunch of GAfers I haven't had a chance to play with yet. I'm ususually on Universe 15.

Gamertag: kevington
Character: Jarvis (Force)

jarvis is good peeps. i recommend everyone play with this guy. :)

I played some single player yesterday, went to Moatoob, cool place. Did the missions there, I guess standard stuff. The boss fight was really awesome though, and I wonder if it will be in the online game since its story specific. Next up I can drive vehicles :D

As for online mode, just grinding away. I still don't understand how there are people with so much money and such a high level. We have had the game for only a week...

Yeah, Jarvis is aaaawesome. :)

Sorry for the really shitty picture (I'm on PS2, no screenshots :P), but I bought the full set of the most expensive cast parts. ****ing pimp. I love it, people comment on it in lobbies ^^

First time with a large GAF group, good stuff. These voice problems are pretty annoying, I couldn't even get lycian in a private chatroom.

I'll be back on for more after the hockey game :)

Hey thanks!!

that totally fixed the problem!
I hope they do a patch to fix that....

Hey hey what exactly are SUVs? I saw a guy use one tonight, then I hear its level 20 up and bought in a shop at first?

AN SUV IS MONEY

Seriously. I have to spend 18000 on a armor to even wear the unit to use the SUV (which I can make instead, buying the pattern, but I need ORTASILICON, WHICH IS 2500 IN THE SHOP >| and HARD TO FIND ELSEWHERE, GAME/SHOPWISE), which the SUV itself ranges from 2000 to 6000. ughhH!! Although, once I get my beastly armor, I'll be pimped out and I'll have various SUV units to test out. WOO.

Anyone can let me have some Ortasilicons they might have? If you can spare MONEY that would be good too, lol.

I bought the 18K armor and the 6K SUV when I hit 20 this past weekend... then ended up buying the 2K SUV for use in the main areas of missions since it has a wider range of fire (half-circle). The 6K one is great for bosses but only shoots in a straight line and enemies kept running out of range. :(

You guys can try the same thing I suggested to SERGE. It's working for everyone I usually hang with, but if it doesn't take care of your issue, it's no harm done, right? Boot the system and log into Live w/ out the game in. Then start up PSU. In your room, you should see your name highlight when you speak, as if you were in a party.

If private chat through Live isn't working though and you KNOW it worked in the past, you may have a issue w/ your controller or headset. I've heard low batteries can screw w/ voice (never been a issue w/ me). You can always try to record a voice message and play it back to be certain yours is fine.

I'm using the 6k one (lasers) and it's awesome. You'll get the hang of getting enemies in it's range though, don't worry. My friend has the 2.5k gatling gun one and hates it.

I can't believe how dead this topic has been, it better mean you're all too busy playing. =p
Didn't get on yesterday at all, but the day before I was part of a really awesome run. Started with Mercury Fred, proving that forces can still blaze through an area on their own, and we finally were joined by four other gaffers. Reminds me, where are the pictures from that night, Maxrpg?

Nice outfit you've got there, Daravon! Glad to see I'm not the only one blowing meseta on costume purchases when I should probably be investing in some armor. =p

Well, I'll be on today to see what's new, but I've got work. Probably means I'll get a taste of it soon, then again really late tonight. Looking forward to another run, this game is golden with the right set of players.

Also, halloween is come and gone, and we didn't get the special lobby, did we?

How are you Forces, dealing with levelling up the different 'skills'? I completely ignored levelling anything other than the basic fire attack, and now I have it being quite powerful, but the others... well, they are still at low levels. I'm currently level 13 (basic fire attack is at 15.)

Level 21 right now, and yeah I've been trying to emphasize using spells other than Foei and Diga (namely Barta) lately. I'm avoiding using the mid level spells, so 1st tier ones are getting all my attention. Once I get Barta over 11 (it's slloooowww going) I'll maybe move on to Zonde.

Speaking about Forces, how much meseta does it take to be one. I would think you would constantly be needing to buy photon charges and such. I'm having trouble finding meseta and I'm a hunter.

That's a pretty strong Foie you've got, especially at your level. I hit LVL20 the other night, and concentrated on four spells so far. My Foie is 14, Rafoie 8, Diga 18, and Resta 7. I've been aggressively trying to level Resta, but it's very slow. I'm hoping that the major improvement with each level is the range; leaves something to be desired right now. Also, Diga hits hard, love that technique. It's slow to cast which can makes you miss often, but it's worth sticking to. Next up, I'm thinking of buying Rabarta, the freezing effect is just so sweet.
