You know I can honestly say that there isn't a Halo map in all 3 games that I hate. Maybe I'm just not picky enough.
And this wait is killing me.

Ten-Song said:Hopefully that means NEW stuff instead of "here's the stuff we had at E3 looping on a monitor." If they are finally showing off more, then hooray! (well, not hooray for Legends, that still looks stupid as hell to me)
EazyB said:Apparently Reach and Legends will be shown in video form at TGS.

Edit: I'd expect new stuff for Legends but they could just reshow the Reach teaser. We've already heard from Bungie that they don't know of any Reach TGS showing so maybe my Don Mattrick reveal is correct after all.

All this Halo stuff is hard to keep up with, even with perpetual lurking of HaloGAF. Guess that's why we're getting Waypoint.

Domino Theory said:Legends could be great (anime or not) if the story that's behind it is something that's been untouched by the games or taken straight from one of the novels (I really have no clue what Legends is about other than it's a Halo anime series).

Animatrix had some good shit. Was certainly better than the two sequels.Ten-Song said:It's the Animatrix/Gotham Knight, but this time with Halo.
It'd be really nice for Legends to be good, but I thought that Gotham Knight and the Animatrix were cool ideas too, and then I watched both of those.
I'd like to be surprised by the quality of the shorts in Legends, but I haven't seen anything from it yet to make me think it'll be anything more than the third time this idea has been attempted poorly.

So, I was playing offline co-op on The Storm with a buddy of mine and while we're clearing the warehouses shortly before encounter with the Hunters I get killed by a trash container. Usually it would be no big deal but this trash container actually aimed for me as I tried to avoid it and it made a really weird clanking sound that will go on to haunt me in countless nightmares to come.
It was a weird moment but we completed the level without thinking about it.
Shortly after we finished the level we sat down and watched the saved film to see how we creatively dispatched the Chieftain in the Hunter encounter. As we go through the saved film I remember the trash container that killed me and I decide to play detective to see what happened to me. I spent the 10 minutes crying tears of laughter as I saw what was going on.
Look at this peaceful trash container, how could it possibly harm me (Arbiter) at the other end of the room?
A severly injured Brute chooses said trash container as his hiding place after my co-op buddy (Mister Chief) gave him hell and got distracted afterwards
Sitting on top of the container, the Brute plans his revenge
Hidden within the belly of the container, unbeknowst to our heroes his terrible plan is set into motion
It's sight blocked by the container the beast begins to slide through the room searching for a victim
The sound of combat attracts the monster to the other end of the room where the Arbiter is bringing justice to a few of his brethren
Its mind clouded by anger the beast storms in the general direction of our proud hero
Having crossed the room unnoticed it closes in on its prey
The beast takes a quick look from the inside of its shell to confirm the presence of his target
The beast charges and the hero uses his cat-like reflexes trying to evade the surprising attack
Unfortunately the beast accelerates at the last second and crushes our brave hero
Broken and abused by the trash container the Arbiter sinks into a corner, shedding one last tear
The last thing our hero sees before he goes to eternal sleep is the sight of the container, now having turned on its head looking for a way to escape from the rightful justice that is sure to come
In a mad dash from the crime scene the vile beast escapes while our heroes are searching for it
Here it is, the murderous wild animal, posing as a regular trash container to escape justice
The Master Chief doesn't notice the presence of the beast despite being close enough to it to smell its stinking breath through the air tight seals of the trash container
There is still a war to fight out there, no time to seek personal revenge on a trash container
The hideous creature however still hasn't given up and follows our heroes, trying to stay hidden from their sight
It moves ever closer without anyone taking notice
It follows our heroes and their trusted followers closely through the next room, ready to strike
Streams of light touch the surface of the trash container as the beast nears the exit of this warehouse
Finally it is about to escape from the scene of the crime, willing to shed blood elsewhere
Thankfully the path of the creature is blocked which ends this murderous rampage once and for all, or does it?
The beast is forced to shed its cover and openly move in for the kill... but that is a story that will remain untold (or you can just download my saved film and watch this play out in real time from 13:00 -> 18:00).

At one point I got lost in the city and had to backtrack for a full 15 minutes. That wasn't fun, seeing how the city = citadel in Halo 1.
Naw, if you don't know whether to get this or not, settle with Halo 3.

You're entitled to your opinion, but it seems like you went in expecting for something you shouldn't have, I'm pretty sure millions of halo fans will feel differently about it. Could we get some pics of the game case at least? Immortalize yourself in the history of this thread for being one of the first to get it.. instead of risking being one of the few who got kicked out for playing a pirated game.Mr. Melender said:Played it for a couple of hours and honestly, it's boring. It's the same gameplay we've been through in 2 and 3, and the story isn't exactly breath taking. You're either mentally retarded or just lying. You can press up on the D pad at any time and get a waypoint to the next destination.
Your impressions are more worthless than the AR.
So what you're saying is, why we still got monkeys?Mr. Melender said:Played it for a couple of hours and honestly, it's boring. It's the same gameplay we've been through in 2 and 3, and the story isn't exactly breath taking. Monkeys exist for the same reason alligators and crocodiles exist. They both have a common distant relative yet split at some point in their evolution.why we still got monkeys?
