The Official Halo 3: ODST Thread

To me, that's the true way to play Halo, despite what Bungie claims ;P If you want to just enjoy the game without the challenge, then you play on Normal. Halo 3, the first thing I did was SP Legendary because with the hours I logged for Halo 2 MP, I knew it'd be no problem. I plan on doing the same for ODST but there's a chance I might play with a buddy in Co-op. Will get all the achievements associated with SP and unlock all the maps for FF before jumping into FF mode. The tough part will be deciding when to play the three new maps...

Edit: I'm not implying that it's stupid to play on Heroic or that you're lame if that's a challenge for you, just saying I personally prefer Legendary.

I didn't take offense so that is fine.

I have personally played all Halo's on Legendary (Solo), but Heroic is where I start and then move on from there whenever I pick the game up again.

Okay, someone explain this meme to me. I spend enough time in the OT to pick up most of GAF's memes, but this one, um, took off without me.
 
I lol'd so hard at that 'review'. Especially the 'controls' and 'gameplay' sections.

Gameplay-wise, if you've played any Halo game you know what to expect;Enemies spawn,you shoot,repeat for 4 and a half hours.

Pure gold... and here I was thinking ODST was a side-scrolling platformer.
I wish Halo was more like CoD and other shooters; run, jump, land on mushroom, repeat for 4 and a half hours. Best of all we'd be able to enjoy it at 60fps.

A guy posted it in response to an OT topic about underage strippers in Rhode Island, implying that he was getting on a plane to go there. So now you post the picture when you want to get to where the action is.

Normally I'd be all "goddamn you I hate waiting" but my week's been so packed with awesome events that are set to conclude Saturday/Sunday that I have no problem waiting the rest of these last few days until the midnight release. Yesterday I went to an awesome concert, and today I got a free copy of the new Batman game, and I got a big party coming up with friends this weekend. ODST will just end up being like the perfect punctuation to this week's events when I finally get my hands on it, so I got no problem waiting now.

I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME NOW AND I HATE YOU! DAMN ALL OF YOU LUCKY ENOUGH TO ALREADY HAVE IT, YOU ARE SCUM!

My week has been pretty good too. However, the only note-worthy event this week was that I got to see an advanced screening of "Zombieland" yesterday.

That movie is bananas. I recommend it to all yous.

Regardless, I'm still aching for some ODST action.

Use hookers and money as a massive distraction (ie bring hookers to your local EB Games and throw a bunch money in the air so they all go apeshit in the store trying to grab it), and as everyone is distracted with what's going on, sneak in the back and grab a copy or two or three.

I think a good old fashioned UPS warehouse raid is another viable option.
 
Has there been anything said about the vehicles that are going to be in ODST?

I really like the Banshee and was kinda sad when the half-level of Bansheeing that had been in the first two Halos wasn't there in the third - stupid hornet :p

Vehicles you can use that I know of:
Warthog, Mongoose, Ghost, Scorpion tank, Banshee in a certain level.

Indeed it is. And probably much more effective, too. Could find as many as 1000 copies of ODST in a UPS warehouse, whereas with a Gamestop raid, I'd say 150 at the most.

They also laid claim against a Halo 3 video I had up from a month ago.

WTF...I know Viacom has an "exclusive" month of Halo broadcasting on Spike, but do they think that means nobody else can do anything with the franchise anywhere?

That's what I'm doing, once I get back to my dorm, a non-stop solo heroic run through for the rest of the day.
