First time solo Heroic, then co-op Legendary with a buddy.

At least that's my plan. :D
 
I'm looking forward to 3 playthroughs at least. First time co-op on Legendary, then with a bunch of skulls enabled, then one with just the Iron skull. Not touching Firefight till I finish the campaign - don't want it to ruin that (like it did Gears2, given how much more fun I found Horde compared to the campaign).

Won't be able to pick this up until 3 or 4 tomorrow afternoon :( Called my boss to text me a Sgt. Johnson code, since I still have a pre-order at my old store :)

Holy fucking shit, these ODST skyboxes are amazing. I thought Assembly's was about as awesome as you could get, but, JESUS. Bungie really went all out here. :bow

It feels kinda weird to hear someone talking when playing in first person after being used to Chief just being dead silent all the time. I like the change, though. Gives the character more personality.

It's crazy how ODST feels like Halo, but at the same time, feels so much different than anything in Halo 1, 2, and 3 (especially in the gameplay department). Love it. :D
 
Wonder if Costco will have it tomorrow. When Halo 3 came out I just walked in and picked it from a giant display without any reservation, plus about 8 bucks off retail.
 
Not really a spoiler but covered just in case:

God damn, the Hunters on the first level took me AGES to beat.

Also, I can confirm no recharge kit with the controller, but the battery pack is just black anyway.

I'm sure you can walk in to big retail stores and just get it without the hassle or the wait.

Lets just say I was doing Heroic, got to a ledge and started firing on both of them, I see one run away and I continue to fire on the other, a few seconds later I turn around to see one coming up the stairs at me. I booked it like there was no tomorrow. I love that I felt nervous and I wasn't invincible like the chief, I needed to be strategic about how I handled the situation.
 
Seriously, the atmosphere in this game is amazing. The music, the lighting... So good.


Also is it just me, or do plasma grenades take longer to explode?

I started using Sanyo Eneloops instead of the MS rechargeable packs. I felt like an idiot for not doing that sooner. The Eneloops last quite a bit longer than any MS pack I've burned through in the last few years.

These thing are amazing, I bought a bunch recently. Didn't think there would be a day where I would become a fanboy for a brand of batteries, but it has happened.

And about that pic, looked at it a couple times, but after looking at it again, just realized the skinny kid is not resting his foot on the backpacks. Mind blown.

I thought the skybox in Assembly was good, but it wasn't Halo's skybox (both variations). Halo's skybox was by far the best in Halo 3.

And I just got back from fully pre-paying for my game at Gamestop. Now I have to wait.

And wait.

And wait...
 
I'm just gonna have to get the game tomorrow from somewhere. Industrial action has meant mail in London is pretty much non-existent. Last time I use Royal Mail.

I've been rather busy lately, but luckily, I've got a friend picking up my copy at midnight. Sadly, I won't be able to play it myself until I get home over the weekend. I'm not entirely sure I can hold out that long.

I'm sure they'll be giving it away in no time. It seems like lots of people have preordered it at the right spot have been denied.
 
Still played my second Firefight Match. Solo damn. this stupid little Grunts with there kamikaze attack. They stole me 3 Lives....

Firefight is so much fun!
