What's really interesting is that the mapmaker has worked the Superintendent into the map. Both bases have 30-second lockdown modes (which block most entrances and exits), and ODST-style SI screens count down until the base opens again.big ander said:

Just found out not only is campus closed for the rest of the week (several buildings are flooded and a portion of the new dining hall's roof caved in) but the nearby Wal-Mart has flooded and closed its doors.
The water just outside my neighborhood has officially become unpassable. One of my roommates called and said he's just going to spend the rest of the day at a nearby dive bar cause there is no chance of getting through. Something like 120+ roads closed in my county.
So now I have no work and no school for the next week (I work outside at a country club - no chance of any golf going on anytime soon either), but no chance of ODST to play for the duration

Unless the wal-mart is closed, if I were you I'd revel in the opportunity that it would be such an adventure to get the game. Hell, throw some water bottles and twinkies in a backpack and head over there with some rain booties and a poncho and dragon quest your ass through those waters.

Some impressions from my 1st playthrough:
Campaign took me a shade under 6 hours on Heroic, solo, with a bare minimum of exploration (that comes later!). Only found 8 Audio logs if thats any indication of my exploring. The Rookie levels have the best atmosphere of any Halo game. Period. The music in these sections just heightens this, as well as compliment the emptiness of the streets. Marty am God.
The Flashback missions are hella fun too, and sometimes pretty challenging. On numerous occasions I died multiple times trying to go a little gung-ho on some of the tricker parts. You really do need to adjust. I think it was Thermite who said, its amazing how much this feels like Halo, yet feels SO different.
The story was good enough to make me want to play the next mission which is all I can ask of a narrative for a game. The new pistol is SWEET, and the SMG does the job for a fair amount of situations. If you find a Carbine, keep it! Those badboys rock hard in ODST.
I also tried a solo game of Firefight on Crater. Lasted about 37 minutes and got to Set 1, Round 3, Wave 4. Those chieftains are a real sonnofabitch alone. Stats for that game here if anyone wants a look
Also found all skulls on the Mythic 2.0 maps and had a pretty close game of 1 Flag BR's on Longshore (tied 1-1). Definitely a cool Objective map, even 4v4.

Since my newegg order will not be showing until wednesday (cry @ newegg stopping my shipment) I'm planning on picking up my copy at Wal-Mart tonight. I know Wal-Mart is supposed to have the Sgt Johnson pre-order bonus, but you can't walk into Wal-Mart and pre-order a game. The local Wal-Mart doesn't have a clue as to what is going on and can't answer my question as to if the Sgt Johnson bonus will be available at midnight or is it a online pre-order only thing. The Wal-Mart even has the ad up with the Sgt Johnson pre-order bonus logo on it, but the lady behind the counter had no clue what was up with it.
Has anyone who plans to pick-up a copy from Wal-Mart got a confirmed yes/no on if the Sgt Johnson thing will be given out at midnight with the purchase?
(Yes I know Wal-Mart fails, but I refuse to do business with Gamestop and if that means no Sgt Johnson then I can live with that)

FUCK!!!! I never have to pre-order a game. I asked my game crazy if they are having a midnight launch and he said they only have enough copies for those who pre-ordered. I never have to pre-order. They always buy a shit load. I only pre-ordered for Halo 3 cause I wanted money down on it (I got the Legendary Edition too, which was supposed to be extremely limited). Looks like I won't be getting ODST until... I don't even fucking know. =( God damnit...
