That's like saying the Airborne shouldnt be called the Airborne because they only jump once into combat per sitting.
I could understand your argument if you had to run 10,000 miles to another part of the world.... but you don't you stay in ONE city so whats the need to "drop" again?
You couldn't pull 101st out of Normandy just to have them jump into Normandy one more time. NO. You keep them on the ground fighting.
We have a rendez-vous with destiny.
Our strength and courage strike the spark,
That will always make men free.
Jump right down through the skies of blue,
keep your eyes on the job to be done.
We're the men of the hundred first,
we'll fight till the battle is won.
Screaming Eagles diving from the sun,
striking boldly from the air.
Now is it time to jump.
Look out below !
Stand up ! Hook up !
Screaming Eagles, go !

So after taking my time and exploring virtually everywhere, I finally finished my first playthrough! Found all the audio logs the first time around too. I can't imagine certain bits seeming as important for people who skipped over seeking them out. Anyway my final playtime was like 13 hours. I think Data Hive might be my favorite mission, but I had a great time with all of them. Great work Bungie

Forgive me if this has been addressed, but you know, giant thread.
Is Firefight known to have random spikes of lag, or is it just my/my friends connections? I've only played 3-4 rounds so far, but each one lasted at least 30 minutes, I was the host (or at least the party leader) for each, and while probably 75-80% of the game is lag free, the rest is punctuated by these minute or two long sessions of just really frustrating lag.
Any tricks/router settings that might help alleviate them?
Bungie.net is saying Halo 3 took me 7 hours the first time around. I didn't do much additional exploring on that playthrough though.
For what it's worth I played ODST in a weird way. I explored the hub world a lot between missions. My average time spent between levels is like 45 minutes. I would walk around finding audio logs, and looking at trash art (like bags of chips and cans). I also kinda got in to character to an extent (when opening the big doors, I would hit the button and run back into the alley, then slowly peek around and proceed with caution).
It would be really annoying to watch I imagine, but for me I enjoyed it. I wasn't purposely stalling or anything. I just found myself playing like that. Also I would take a break whenever I started to get used to it. That way it was always fresh.
So in other words I'm crazy, but at least I had a good time

Data Hive was my favorite mission too. I mean, I know I shouldn't like it, the entire thing is just three textures repeated, and the ice effects look lame as hell, but I really enjoyed it. They also managed to make an "enemy catacombs" level that wasn't fucking awful, so thumbs up.

That is pretty bad...I have done 12/13 - 0 but to be that close...egh...I was just bummed because I had no idea it would not count because it was a flag game.

Do you have to get all the kills in order without interruption? ie 5 shotgun kills for the medal without going 4 shotgun kills one stick then another shotgun kill.

Some jackass teammate threw a trip-mine in front of my 'Hog when I was like, 32-0 on Sand TARP Squad Battle last night. Second time a teamy's betrayed me to prevent me from getting a perfection medal. I would have 3 by now.
Yeah 'Sticky Fingers' is pretty hard to get because of this...ahh well.

It's actually pretty easy.
If you don't want to try that on the campaign, take advantage of the Catch skull in Firefight. The grunts and brutes drop tons of grenades.
Then, all you have to do is stick those jetpack brutes, they suck at dodging :lol

Yeah...I guess i have the bad luck of them getting stuck only to land or blow up close enough to another enemy (or pile of grenades) to cause a double kill.
So, I just finished my first Gamebattles match. For those who don't know Gamebattles is the MLG online league. So I put up a post on the match finder asking for a 3v3 match at 3pm. Without anyone knowing, the people who I get matched with are actually on my friends list. 50's in MLG, good players. Best of 3 on random gametypes...they were, Onslaught Flag, Pit Slayer and Pit Flag. They were some of the craziest games I've played in a long time. I've never seen so many clutch plays in such a short amount of time.
In the first game, we go up 2-1 on Onslaught Flag on their host and we're feeling pretty confident. I don't wanna make excuses but we were pretty unpracticed as this was the first time 3 of the teammates have been on together in a week or so. Then, things start to get out of hand. After some un-clutch plays out of our team and some great teamwork from the other team, we find ourselves losing 4-2. Then something clicked. We all turned up the level of our play and got the last 3 flag caps in a few short minutes. It was an insane comeback.
The second game was Pit Slayer. It would be our host so my teammate started a party and we all joined. However, somehow, a one of their teammates was given host and it was made obvious by all of us this game. We got off to a shitty start and never capitalized on the opportunities to make a comeback. We got our ass kicked and the final score was 50-41.
The final game would be Pit Flag on their host. (I'm pretty sure the same guy had host all 3 matches) We were pretty confident going into this game as it's all around one of our favorite gametypes. I really just can't believe how many CLUTCH flag stops we had just feet away from their base. You'll see in the match once I upload it. We go up 1-0 and we're feeling good. Then, while they're pulling our flag, I lag out of the match. The Gamebattles rules state that if one teammate lags out of a NON Slayer gametype, he may be re-invited and the game CONTINUES. I rejoin some 30 seconds later and the lead we had at 1-0 turns into a 2-1 lead for them. I come back, and for some reason I am on point with everything. We get an insane clutch flag stop, pull the flag and tie the game up. Then we get another crazy flag stop and I get the most insane 3rd and final flag to win the game. I'm not going to spoil how insane it really was. There was wild cheering afterward and just a little shit talking. It was nuts.
I'm putting the films up in an hour or two. I'll post the links later for those interested. It was nuts.
Haven't played much ODST until yesterday. When I did, it was Firefight on Windward and the Lag was unbearable. Still managed to get the 200k achievement on it though.

Oh so apparently after I came back from lagging out, the film where I came back wasn't recorded by my xbox for some fucking reason. So the greatest comeback can't be seen from my perspective but I will get it in somehow.
Looks like some people are getting Forza 3 already...

Damn that's badass. I saw the .gif of that car in another thread and it was even more badass. Can you use photos from your Xbox 360 to edit your car or something?
