Like Coco p. I also like the licensed tracks in Halo 2, but I've never heard the songs they came from. When I picked up the Halo 2 soundtrack, I burned a new CD that skipped all of them. Literally just cut'em out. IIRC, it's only used twice in the game, both in shit-hitting-the-fan moments so I thought it fit well. The High Charity mêlée is one of my favorite moments in the game, actually. "Maybe you should sit this one out...." Then everything goes ape shit.

Maybe on a subconcious level I liked the High Charity soundtrack, because that battle is my most memorable, and one of my absolute favorites from the somewhat lackluster Halo 2 campaign (at least lackluster by comparison to the other 2 campaigns).

Yeah there are comparatively few big moments like that in Halo 2; offhand I can only think of four or five in the game. Though I still dig the Arbiter's rechargeable active camo.

Bit of a random thought, but does anyone else think we'll see Elephants used in the ODST campaign?

Reckon Bungie missed an opportunity with Halo 3 by not using it in Campaign (it would have been amazing in Co-Op, holding off an assault by the Covenant/Flood). Elephant marching along the streets of New Mombassa?

Nah, I get the sense that the campaign is going to be much more intimate. In fact, until they actually referenced vehicles being a part of the game, my expectations had excluded even Warthogs and Mongooses. I could be wrong though, and here's why it would be awesome if I was...

Within the context of the actual Halo campaigns, it would have been cool to have a mission where you had an officer aboard the Elephant (maybe Cdr. Keyes or Sgt. Johnson) and just like H1's "Keyes" level, you had to keep them alive. So you're using weapons and vehicles on the Elephant, as well as around it to fend off Covenant attacks as you push through enemy lines. The machine lumbers at a pretty slow pace, so it would allow you to back track and rush ahead, picking up various weapons/vehicles around the caravan -- providing some interesting ways to handle each battle as they ensued.

Now imagine that with four-player coop.

Wow. Warlock wasn't even one of the maps I wanted to see remade... but you did a fine job. It seems a bit too open... but maybe that's just lighting.

Looks incredible! Really nice work. I can't fault anything about it.

What's the problem with the spawns? There are a few guides to dealing with spawn regions in the MLG Forge forum that you might find helpful. If you need more people to run test games on the map I'd be happy to...


Also, is there anyone from the UK/Europe who has the Mythic Maps and wants to play some custom games? I'm getting a bit bored of the playlist and really want to try out Eazy's map, or just play MLG flag on Assembly, or something other than SWAT on Tundra or Slayer ARs on Orbital. If so, PM or add me mentioning GAF. GT: Dr Alisdair.

Awesome job dude, you should toss it in the fileshare shitty spawns or not. I'd like to give it a whirl.
 
I'll have to investigate spawns for Capture the flag gametypes because it seems to spawn me anywhere it fancies regardless of team. and I'll put it in my fileshare, if for no other reason than you can give it a whirl and tell me what works and what doesn't.

Luis: It is a bit open compared to the halo 2 version. I'm pretty much out of budget right now and the weapons are pretty minimal on map (MLG style) but overall it was fun to make, and quite a challenge :D

That's really well done, dude -- iffy spawns or not. Be sure to let us know when you have that up in your File Share, I wanna download it asap.

excellent job you did there. also good choice in music, tis one of my favourite tracks from H2.

Story of my life. I have a shitty connection right now at school and all I can get is assists. Cross-map shooting is near impossible. More than likely, I'll end up going negative in a high-level MLG game with the most or second most assists on my team. Crappy connections absolutely suck.

And Bladed, INCREDIBLE job with Mage. From the video, it looks like a true Warlock remake. I can't wait to play some customs (and hopefully MM?) on it in the coming months.

Wow, really nice looking, though it does seem like it would be an easier remake because the map is simple, your looks really polished and nice. Only thing I noticed was that there seemed to be a little too much room behind the bases up top, usually I though the room behind there was smaller. Also, hopefully you have the grav lifts set so that they respawn instantly if they get destroyed. Other than that, I can't wait to try it out.

Yeah the backs of the bases are quite big. I could've walled them off but i was running low on budget. If I have the resources I may do it... but for now, it will have to do :P

I blew up the grav lift yesterday and i didn't come back so I fixed it. Should be instant respawns on those now.

Also, some of the base flooring is slightly uneven, with a few tiny gaps too, due to the corners of the crypt not being true 90 degree angles. Again, its a resource thing (won't fix)

Well that's a shame about the budget, and from what you guys have been saying about the maps, it sounds like the budget is still preventing these maps from being polished up.

I finally figured out what the issue is. You have some weird quotes, not standard ones around my map. It is throwing the bbcode off.
 
Man, come on, the flag timer on Multi Flag Assembly HAS to be lowered. It's ridiculous how long it takes and is impossible to reset against good people.

Holy shit that looks like Wizard not Warlock. Make sure you put the grav lift inside the geometry so you can't blow it up and so people can't do that gay jump straight to the flag or onto the platform because that would totally fuck up the gameplay.

I'm sure you could sell the top of the Pi on each platform and the other crap ontop mid to rearange the back of the bases to elevate blocks and make the base area smaller. Otherwise I give you a B for Beffort. (bungie effort :/)

No, they are all randoms except ASoberIrishman. He wasn't any good at Halo2 but he was decent in Halo:CE.

Funnily enough I figured out a way to keep everything the same geometry wise and wall off the back of each base (with a killball behind each one for anyone stupid enough to try and escape). The base sizes are alot closer to Halo 2's now and I havee $11 (woohoo) for a couple of weapons/grenades I might have missed. Once I have all the gametypes set up and the spawns working properly I'll update the fileshare version.

Not sure how to keep people from jumping into the base off the lift from the side though. maybe If I angle it and merge it a little...

I hope Bungie's next effort is a new IP with neither Elites nor Spartans. Instead there only be aliens with randomly generated head placements.

It's not 100% consistent though.

Absolutely, IIRC all the spawns Bungie use are set to neutral and the only respawn zones and starting spawns are team specific which vary from gametype to gametype.

It depends. If the opposing team was running it mouth in the pregame lobby ... sometimes I am for it. Other times I am in favor of ending it. I take it on a case by case basis. :D

Nay. I'm on the receiving end of them way too many times. :lol

On one-bomb and Griffball games, I keep lobbying my team when we have an insurmountable lead (up 2-0 and the opposing team has one round left in the former, scoring three points in the latter) to just let the other team wrap it up and score, since the game is effectively over at that point. No one ever listens. They just play slayer or grief the other team.

Bunch of dicks.

I have never experienced a Halo3 victory lap. Although in Halo2 I have put the bomb/flag ontop of a banshee and gone to town on kids.

Oh and jumping ontop of a Banshee with a full Snipe on Coag is sex.

It's terrible and I would never do laps around The Pit repeatedly picking up and dropping the flag because the other team decided to t-bag us.
