News I guess it'll be like 10/11/12 Pacific.

Achronos said:
The information release will be today or tomorrow, depending on your timezone. Late today for us in the Pacific timezone.

The information will include details on the 2nd of the included maps, as well as release date information and the final pricing Microsoft decided on for this DLC package.

And the release date is significantly sooner that what joe9174 thinks it is.

So I guess this means they'll be showing us Cottonball (Sidewinder) tonight/tomorrow, and they're going to save Moonlight Sonata (Lockout) for later since that'll be the megaton.

So what day did Joe0284692011 think the release date would be?

I'm calling April 7th or 8th, I'd love to be wrong by a week though.

November (what a fucking idiot that guy is :lol ). So Bungie saying the maps will come out significantly sooner than that doesn't really tell us much.

Purple Reign must keep its name. It's fantastic.

Valhalla never should have changed from Curious Gorge too.

Yeah, usually Bungie names their maps well, but Ghost Town... Sand Trap? Come on now... :p (I liked Shrine better)

So, what codenames have we known so far for Halo 3? As far as I remember, this is the list:
Curious Gorge - Valhalla
Shrine - Sandtrap
Jub-jub - Guardian
Long and Lean - Narrows
Gym Class - The Pit
Jodrell Bank - Standoff
O.K. Corral - Ghost Town

Yeah, that guy is a mouth-breather.

Well, at least we know that we'll get a release date, and get to see both map. The thing that bothers me, is "the final pricing Microsoft has decided on." Maybe I'm reading into things too much, but that sounds like Microsoft set the price again, and it wasn't neccesarily something Bungie agreed with.

Wait, wait, I just got home. Is the map info coming tonight?

Depending on your time zone. All we know fissure is that it will be late tonight in Pacific time, that's all Achronos has said.

Late night Pacific time.
But tonight? Awesome! I'm on the east coast and I'll stay up till three for Sidewinder pix.

Ok I was browsing Halopedia tonight and found some awesome stuff in the Trivia section of their level articles. Maybe these little things are old news to you all but after 2,000 games played I had no idea about some of them.

Here's a compilation of the most interesting imo

High Ground

# In the piles of trash, there is a paper crane.
# You can push the bunker hatch back up by deploying a gravity lift inside the bunker.
# There are small fish that can be seen and killed and will wash up on the shore.
# A picture of Cortana appears for a split second on the console closest to the flag.
# The Radio inside the fort where the flag spawns transmits three different Morse Code messages. When translated they are "Frogblast the ventcore" [AWESOME] a reference to Bungie's classic FPS Marathon, "sababwl" an acronym found on the Halo Soundtrack which was a quote from Bungie's Martin O'Donnell back when the original Halo was about to be released, the acronym stands for "shiny and bumpy and bursting with love!" and "Don't make us kick your ass" a classic Bungie saying.

Epitaph

# While keeping silent, players can hear the Halo theme music being played in a deep synthesizer-like tone every few seconds.
# When inspected closely, players can see that the "characters" on the windows of the complex scroll from the bottom to the top.
# If you go outside and look out into the distance at the grey clouds, every now and you can see lightning bolts.
# Upon going outside of the building in forge, you will see a large cloud formation forming far off in the distance. If you look at it from the right angle, the clouds look vaguely like a spartan or marine upper body with the head facing the left, the arms extended and the hands in the "call me" position (thumb up, pinky extended). This is the same type of "egg" seen in Last Resort, although the one here may not be as clear cut as the other.

Isolation

# There is a ghostly face that can be seen when standing at the ghost (vehicle) spawn and looking upwards.

Last Resort

# While on the beach, and looking to the right up in the sky, you'll see a cloud that looks like Master Chief (flexing).

Narrows

# If you look off to the side, you can see another bridge exactly like Narrows. That bridge and this one (Narrows) are probably part of a extremely large cooling installation, as said in the description of the map.

Rat's Nest

# If you listen closely to the big green pipes, you can hear Drones flying and bumping into each other inside the pipes.
# There are Hornets and Pelicans seen flying in the background of the outdoor area. The Hornets can be shot down with a Spartan Laser.

Snowbound

# In the sky, the visible planet has a Marathon symbol on it.
# Beneath the Bungie logo in the screenshot of the battle, you can make out the term Out of Ammo written in the sky. Beneath it is Press (Y) to...

The Pit

Inside the room containing the sword, there is a bright yellow phone with a red error message on it stating that it is out of service. Melee and it will fall on the floor. Then melee it until it is upside down. If you zoom in on it, there is a Windows Logo.

Internal chaos at Bungie, mis-communications abound, Stinkles and cat pull of coup and gain control. Famous composer of jingles Martin O'Donnell is among the casualties. Furry Ewok manages to escape large cat's wrath. Future of Bungie titties up in the air.

I think I'll do what I planned to do all along: Go to sleep, and if it's up tomorrow, that's cool. If not, I'll survive.

That's my favorite one.

I used a code
I saw it, but I'm still confused.

EDIT: wait, I might understand.

You should feel awful, btw, for getting some sort of perverse pleasure out of toying with us.

SSB online is TERRIBLE! I guess maybe you're playing it offline too, but I see no way that games online could keep someone away from this. :P

Should I go to sleep tonight and view all of the information that will still be available about the maps I can't play yet tomorrow or stay up and be dead tired at work all day so I can post "first" at NeoGAF?

Actually the online is very stable now and nearly lagless unless someone has a crappy connection. But what's mostly keeping me away from Halo 3 is a lack of controllers >.>

Let me guess; your tale of woe involves the number 44...

We have an awesome group of 4. We played 8 TS games, we win 7 of them.

One of my teammates started in the room as a 39. End of the day? He's a 45.

I started in the room as a 44. End of the day? 44.

Oh, and I'm from the UK. Lakenheath, represent.
I don't know why, but I thought for sure you were from Chicago or New York or somewhere like that.

I read the bnet forums for entertainment earlier, and the mouth-breathers were getting really pissed off and agitated. When the link to Luke's GAF post was posted, all these people jumped all over it, exploding about how that was just some dick pretending to be Luke. I love it when the Bnet forum kids get pissed. Like reading during the Crackdown beta start-up. Ah, fun... :D

Yeah, no kidding. :lol :lol
ALL CAPS THREAD TITLES, threads just for bragging about skillz, threads that don't make sense, 8 threads about the same thing at any given time, angry threads demanding Bungie be punished/ certain weapons being removed... it's hilarious.

I swear, if I was a mod there for a day, I'd end up banning 50 people in my first hour.

Subject: what do you think bungie staff do in their free time?
u think they lay back and chill? get some halo into their system, or just read the funny stories and rants on bungie.net, what do YOU think?

"funnys accepted =]"
ps, ninjas and bungie employees, feel free to post away! =D
