lockout is coming back? i would say yay but they're charging 10$ for three maps and one is a remake. i'd rather have totally new maps. fuck the past.

shit 10 smackers for 3 maps is bad enough. and of course i know they'll be free later, but that still doesn't make the practice of charging that amount NOW any better.

Oh good. I didn't expect any Moonlight Sonata reveal, but I was hoping we'd find out when the reveal is.

So, we get Avalanche-Sidewinder comparison pics, Moonlight Sonata reveal infoz, and likely some assorted playlists notes. The only things that could make tonight's update more exciting are Mister Chief, and the announcement that Last Resort is being yanked from Team Slayer.
 
I finally hit level 40 in Lone Wolves today. I guess I can stop playing it now for a looong time, as I only just hit Commander today as well (thank, you, Double EXP Weekend!).
 
I was just trying to load a Halo 3 custom game and check out a friend's party details, and it's totally fucked. In fact, it's telling me that Insaniac's map and gametype names are inappropriate and cannot be displayed on Xbox Live. :lol

Live is dead for me here too...

Was playing SWAT, and then after the game my lobby teammates just broke up - can't even log into Live now...
 
I was just having a good time with SWAT :(

Finally got an extermination on Epitaph as the whole team took the gold lift to the middle. Unfortunately for them, I was standing to the side, picking them off as they landed.
 
Live is down :((( wtf... At least give us a "we will be down for a while" message or something. Give us something to let us know why this is happening.

If you can just abstain from two Baconators then you'll have enough money. It's all about self-will.

See. You guys just wouldn't stop crabbing about remake Sidewinder and broken SWAT and not having ten dollarz and look what's happened. Bungie took their ball and went home. I hope you're all very happy with yourselves.

One reason I've yet to go online is that I absolutely hate playing with people I don't know, usually all I hear is racist remarks and general insults from kids half my age...
 
Apparently a dutch magazine has scans of the third map 'Moonlight Sonata'.

It shows a pic of a section of the map, along with the name. But to respect Bungie, I won't post the scan or talk about the map.

Start->Voice Settings->Mute All

This can increase the fun-factor by 10x when playing with complete strangers.

You should just play with a group [of GAFers], or when playing solo, mute everyone and just enjoy the sounds of the battle that's what I do. I have a headset, but I only use it in doubles, or when playing with friends.

Actually, I like listening to the online craziness, it cracks me up that people are so stupid. Then, when it starts getting old, I just press X to mute. Hooray.

Now, go play, Opus.
 
There is no proximity voice in Ranked matches now.

And muting is easy.

Ang GAFers are some swell guyz for starters. Although if you don't like cusswords and dirty talk steer clear of that urk character.

having enough money has nothing to do with the fact that the map pack is overpriced. even worse is that i can't just buy 800 points. i'll have to get 1000 which is 12.50$ i think. of course those other points don't disappear or anything, it is just that i hate having them sitting around.

Strangely I was that exact same with Halo 2, played the campaign numerous times but only ventured online for a few days and hated the experience.

You can get a 1600 pt card at Wal Mart for $20. Just do that and write in the code.

1) Developers deserve to be paid.
2) You can buy a 1600 point card and pick up the Legendary Map Pack and Rez HD with no points left over. Huzzah!
