Despite my earlier complaints about Blackout, I'm really quite excited to try Cold Storage. I loved Chill Out, but only ever played it in 1v1, doubles, or FFA. I think I can imagine it working in 4v4 as well.

It's another map like Guardian and Ghost Town, which is what Halo 3 needs most. I worry a tiny bit about complex surfaces (no stairs please) and weapon placement. I want a BR or a Carbine in most rooms, but I'm pretty sure the original only has one pistol and one sniper.

Has anyone played 4v4 on Chill Out? How does it play?

I would too, but it seems that way doesn't it? Bungie have only really talked about 3 maps, and haven't even hinted at 1.2 developments (have they?). Seems like they are moving on from Halo to whatever title they are developing next.

It's worth noting though that they have multiple teams going at once. The Halo 3 DLC team, the team working on the smaller project coming soon (that the Superintendent icons are teasing) and the larger, big project that's still a ways out. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more going on as well. I think the big question is, at what point will the Halo 3 DLC team be absorbed into the other teams? Before or after their next project comes out? How does Bungie support two seperate projects at once?

I don't think it seems that way at all. Considering we've only seen one of the maps for the current map pack, it seems a bit silly to think that this is the last map pack. Bungie isn't a tiny developer, they have several teams.

And if that ends up being true, will we get just two maps with the next Map Pack? Or is there a third ready for release?

That makes it seem like a pretty safe assumption that Cold Storage will be free on Bungie Day. If it is, that's fucking awesome of Bungie. *suspends preparing Cold Storage complaints*

But yeah, that does call into question what will be done with the next map pack.

Luke also seems to do a good job of shooting down our crazy schemes that are way off base which he has yet to do with this one:D

Eh, sometimes... we speculated the other day about Smuggler being Sanctuary and he never shot that down. But I think that there's certainly a possibility that we'll see a free map on 7/7.
 
That would be great if Cold Storage will be free, but I'm not holding my breath. :P

...and btw, my 360 is dying. Damn thing is freezing up every few minutes or so. Of course, my warranty is gone, and it's been giving me problems for quite a while now with disc "unreadable" shit.....well, an arcade console will probably be coming shortly, depending on how much MS will charge me for a "fix".

....damnit.

Honestly I just found myself in the position of having a 44 in SWAT and I was having fun so I ranked up. Plus at the time 2400 seemed so far away (still does a bit). If a number ever makes me mad I don't go for it. I see myself becoming a Brig General because I doubt I can hit 50 without getting a coordinated team together. I just can't seem to care enough about a number to get upset or angry over losing a video game anymore.

So yea new dream, Brig General (4000 Exp):lol

Free maps are what this game needs. Its really lame that if I really want to play the new maps I have to go to the DLC playlists to do so.

Also, I wonder if RBTB's eventual demise may lead Bungie to focus on smaller maps from now on.

Free maps definitely. Hardly anybody's on DLC. Halo needs an infusion of maps to keep it interesting.

Like Ghaleon, I'm waiting for the day that I can play plenty of 8v8 Avalanche matches in RBTB. Oh yeah, and less Sandcrap.
 
RBTB had 6500 people on earlier and we were finding matches in a minute or 2. DLC Objective on the other hand had 850 people.

Save RBTB.

The last game just sucked cause that guy was yelling and berating us for no reason. Also I was making my roommate cheesy salsa so I wasn't playing til the last 5 minutes or so.
