So I just gave the Covenant the buisness end of my Battle Rifle in order to reach 7 Billion. Add 250+ kills to the count, going to run Crows Nest and Cortana next.

Just hopped onto Bungie.net to find they've added a new tab in the game history section of the service record. Now there's Matchmaking, Campaign, and Customs. Good thinking.

In the three campaign missions I did (two of them with Merguson) I killed about 350 enemies.
Sweet. I was just thinking about this other other day.

No turn-based Halo RPG? :-(

EDIT:

With super deformed characters and a silly storyline of course (like Halo Wars).
Once upon a time, the ancient race known as The Forerunners built massive rings to contain a horrible infection of parasites known as The Flood. These space rings were known as Halos. The Halos were powered by the fire, water, earth, and wind crystals; the four light crystal with incredible power. And so the galaxy was safe again...

But then, the peace was broken... there was a great disturbance in the galaxy... the Halo rings began to fall apart. The galaxy fell into chaos, for the Pirate Lord Umbleck had stolen the four crystals of light and plunged the galaxy into darkness.

In the slums of an ordinary village, on an ordinary planet, four spiky haired emo teenagers sat, miserable as usual, and unaware of the great danger they were in. But that would soon change...

I honestly think that this 7 billion thing is out-of-reach for us to try and accomplish in the two weeks or whatever that we have - but I'll continue to step up my efforts nonetheless. Gonna use my extended lunch break today to play through Crow's Nest a couple of times.

233 million kills in about two weeks is, well, a lot. =|

Combine the first four, and I'm game!
Lots of potential up there and a lot of horror as well.

I have to admit that the potential future of the Halo IP scares me more than a lot of things. I've seen similar surveys put out by Microsoft (for other franchises) and the idea that they're polling people to find out what they want with the IP's future - rather than being a devout fan and knowing what's best for it - is quite frightening. How can you manage the granular things that make Halo awesome in each title without even knowing, with certainty, the direction it should be taking.

Keep 'em in line, Frank.

Holy shit that's scary and funny at the same time. Although, I must admit, I would definitely have interest in Lego Halo: Brick Combat Evolved. My wife would love a 3rd person version, as the only way she can play the game w/o getting sick is when the camera shifts to 3rd person.

Completed my Crows Nest and Sierra 117 run, I should be up to about 500 Covenant slaughters for today. My end goal total by 7/7 will be 7777 kills.

So far, Floodgate seems to be the fastest and most efficient way to get kills in a short period of time.

I'm really glad the community is banding together to try and get the 7 Billion kills because it has reminded me and everyone else, how mindbendingly awesome this campaign is. It gives us all an excuse to revisit some of our favorite moments and even if we don't make it, I can say I had fun along the way.

Actually your avatar never bugged me, I don't know what is supposed to "bug" me about it. I figured complaining about it bugging people was a halo 3 thread meme.

It's k, Dax. Don't get all cut-cut.

You know, sometimes it is NOT cool to go along with the group.

Dax, the combination of very frequent posts plus what is an attention-grabbing avatar (for better or worse) isn't setting well with the natives. Just sayin'.

There's no reason to completely stop, I don't think anyone's suggesting that. Just slow down a bit, that's all.

You all say slow down a bit, but I don't know how. I just post whenever I have something to say. I'll make a good effort to slow down in anyway I can.

Here is a picture from Tsavo Highway from my co-op game with DeepBlue. A chopper was going at him head on. Seeing this, I blow the chopper up and the debris flies right into Deep Blue's face:

Edit: I'll be playing co-op all day, or most of the day. If anybody wants to play, I'm free.

Oh, I put that fool on ignore quite a while ago. If I wanted to deal with creepy mofos with no social skills, I'd go to a mental hospital.

Ya know, I don't think I'll be going to view his post...

Anyone who wants to get into some co-op, send an invite.

Any time would be good, I'm just on the computer typing shit up.
I'm up anytime. I'm playing the Covenant right now, but I have to go feed my dogs so I'll be gone for about 15 or so minutes.

Dude, no.

So if RBTB goes by the wayside, will the Heavies variants make their way to SBTB? I managed to get my first Heavies variant yesterday (Multi-flag CTF on Standoff). 2 Lasers (Plus Gauss Hogs) per side! I was in heaven. I had 20 lasers that game and was on a Running Riot before I died the first time. We won as well! :D

He's kindly edited, it's safe now. But oh god I'll never un-see it.

It raises all kinds of questions, but let's put that behind us.

Woah Woah WOAH. Damage control coming through, I like having this thread. Don't let a few posts ruin it for the rest of us. We just need a little clean up on isle 7.

@Merguson, the FR is on its way.

Yeah, a few months ago Evilore closed it because they were reorg-ing the site to focus all Online Discussion to the online forum. At one point, briefly, talking about Multiplayer in this thread was actually bannable.

If this thread gets closed, I'm perfectly content and thrilled with the likely return of multiple Halo 3 threads in Gaming that pertain to what's going on with Bungie or Halo. As is, a lot of information gets muddled up and lost in random chatter in this thread -- which has become a micro-Community in and of itself (which I also like) but that micro-Community can easily migrate discussion to the online thread.

I'm not exactly clear on what exactly we can and can't discuss here. The topics range from the Halo story to Bungie speculation to campaign discussion to multiplayer design dicussion to sicussion of upcoming map packs to hooking up for online play. Several of those seem a bit borderline.

To be honest, seeing as everything in Halo is tied together in a neat little package, I'd really prefer to keep it in one thread. Though I'd like it if we made a new thread, we need a clean start, preferably with a lot less member drama.

Agreed.

I don't think a new thread would change that.

Well, that's not our call, so no more talking about MP in here for the time being.

The line between the online thread and this got a bit murky - my understanding was that coordination of groups hooking up was to be in the Online thread, but other MP discussion, including talking about aspects of the multiplayer game and even recaps of games played (photos) was okay. But like you, I thought that was lifted as well. But it's been a while, maybe I'm mistaken. The Online thread hasn't seen a new post is three months.

At any rate, one possible end is the closure of this thread, the migration of the discussion of active players to the Online thread, and the return of weekly threads with the Weekly Update to talk about news.

Don't forget the whole thread vanishing because some mod thought it would be funny.

Gaf has never been a halo friendly board. I think its jealously to be honest.
