Had this problem for a while but never worried about it because I've beat the game on Legendary, but every now and again I feel like playing the campaign again.

When I try and load up my old game, or resume my game, it randomly just kill shte chief Muliplayer style and quits.

Basically I can't resume a campaign. I have to keep starting a new one. Anyone else experience this?

i liked it then again i really only played rockets with my friends on it
I remember watching a video a very long time ago of a LAN in which rockets on Longest was being played, and someone was getting points by committing suicide. The game turned into a race between the leader and the suicider to see who could reach 25.

I think it was a video of a HBO Lan, actually.

and Longest was awesome.

Never heard of this. Does this happen with just one checkpoint in particular, or every time you try to resume from any checkpoint?

I'm pretty sure this thread started dying around the time Flight passed.

What does that tell you?

So finally all of us have the NXE which means no more push-to-talk for 5v5 and up games (for Halo), and being able to talk to our teammates while dead (in Gears) and not hearing the other team (Gears again). :D

Oh and EazyB, it's time (thanks to Kibbles for making this for me):

Posted this in the other thread for NXE but im sure you guys who only visit gaf for the halo thread will miss it (your the ones with the purple masks rite?)

I install Halo 3 to the hard drive, boot up the game, and as soon as I sign in, I'm told that I shouldn't have installed Halo 3 to the har drive. :lol

Okie dokie.

A bit of a downer about the increased loading time from NXE installs but I'm glad it was it was acknowledged this early. Hopefully enough people avoid it so getting games started doesn't become slower.

As soon as you get to the main screen, a message pops up.
Played matchmaking a bit last night with Omlet and Jironimo, both have been sporting the NXE for a little while now and I didn't notice anything significant in terms of loading. Is it just for campaign or for multiplayer too? Because I'll be honest, I'd rather have slightly longer load times with a quiet Xbox than the sound jet engine taking off next to my face every time I want to indulge in gaming. The loading times would have to be really significant for it to counter the bellow of the Xbox 360's disc drive.

I'm wondering if this is something they're going to look at when designing how the Xbox will handle the content on H3R... hopefully they are, because I don't know anyone who isn't planning on getting H3R at this point.

I have Halo 3 Installed and to be honest the difference is so small (5-10 seconds max) that its worth the quiet dvd drive.

It was the first thing I installed this morning.

And I am thinking what Voc is thinking that the slowness will be experienced in Campaign, not in Multiplayer. Because I think that the pimp caching system Bungie implemented was for campaign, and that the maps always loaded from the dics before play during MM. I could be wrong and it would be nice of we could get Shiska or Luke or Urk to comment on it.

I might have to install since my disc doesn't work (will use a friend's disc to install and hopefully it'll at least be able to verify with my disc). Sorry Bungle. If that fails, I'll just go buy a disc that works.

Also, I can't believe I'm only 10 points away from getting the Halo Theme :lol Anyone know if there are any promotions offering a small amount of points?

I am 49 points away :(

The pimp caching system is at play in multiplayer as well.

dax why is your avatar a woman is your mom playing on the xbox or something
There's a nice little feature called "Private messaging" that is not only available on this site, but on Xbox Live! Not only that, but avatars don't even have anything to do with Halo 3!

Ouch. Two strikes. One more, and you're out.

And if you must know, I was looking at the avatars for both genders, I did the same thing when I first got my Wii. After I was finished, I was too lazy to switch back, but I'll do it eventually.

I really hope this HDD install thing gets fixed for H3: Recon.

Though, I guess this could be a good strategy in Lone Wolves to install it so that you have impatient people quit because of the long load times...

You know it isn't a matter of getting fixed right? Bungie designed the disk to spin, so spin it shall.

Sense they know about it now with 6 to 10 months left in development I'm sure they'll make it work!

^ Maybe, but it is an expansion to Halo 3 so they may just.

Well my DVD drive is stuck (It's been working poorly for over a year now, but it just suddenly stopped opening all together. I have done nothing to cause it to stop working. I just tried ejecting the disc and... I couldn't.) and Microsoft wants me to pay nearly $100 to repair it. :( I'm fucked.

I posted a couple of pages back but didn't hear much.

Anyone else experience a problem resuming their campaign? It's been happening to me for a while, but luckily I ave already beat the game on Legendary. But when I try and resume a started campaign, it just keeps killing MC and quitting. The camera angle basically becomes like an MP camera and just kills me.

I basically have to keep restarting my campaign.

I didn't have exactly that same problem, but for some reason whenever I tried to resume my Legendary campaign mid-level, it would never load. I can't remember the exact message, but it would just fail to load from the Campaign Lobby. Was almost done with the game on my solo Legendary run, this was pretty much the final nail in the coffin for me.

I might have to make a video and post it to give people an idea of what's happening. I'm hoping I can fix this issue without having to delete my game altogether.

If I delete my game, wouldn't it then think I haven't found the skulls or completed the game on any difficulty?

I still have the achievements, which is fine, but still.

I wanna try this whole 8 person party thing in some BTB.

My drive failed on my first 360, luckily I had a Best Buy replacement plan so it wasn't a big deal. My condolences.

If I'm not mistaken you should keep all your skulls, permutations and level shields. My HDD failed so I lost all my game saves yet all my Halo 3 stuff with the exception of saved gametypes, maps, vidoes, and screens.

Fuck I hope you're right. I've just been hesitant to delete my save file that's all. I'll try tonight.
