I'd bet that most of B.net's visitors have no idea what BitTorrent is and would probably be turned off by reading a "Here's How to Download Our Podcast" article.
 
It's better than nothing. If it was a standalone client the word 'torrent' doesn't even need to be mentioned.

This is massively pie-in-the-sky, though :P
 
have to pimp my buddies new awesome map and game mode.

BOMB3RMAN (dl both bomb3rman map and game mode)

His idea behind the map, recreate the hectic feel of bomberman in halo. players spawn along the edges of the playing field (crypt, with a darker filter and red and blue corners). no radar, no shields, recharging grenades. because it is based on bomberman, you spawn with a useless plasma pistol and melee kills are discouraged (a minus to your point total for each). the emphasis is on explosions. take a high risk and rush to the center of the map for a special powerup, but beware, there are plenty of explosive cores to set off deadly chain reactions around it.

he did an amazing job with it. the layout is nice and professional, it looks GREAT, and it is very fun. your feedback would be appreciated.

This is probably nothing special, but it was a ton of fun to do.

1 Flag, Last Resort, we're Blue in the first round. We (me driving, a friend gunning) stormed round the door side in the hog because I thought another team member was covering it with the Ghost, but he'd been jacked. Someone had opened the door just before, and as we rounded the corner started taking Ghost fire - from this point onward it was a mission to save my gunner.

So I slammed into the tunnel and came out into the main room, forgetting that it was CTF and that there would be a huge fight going on. So while the gunner's distracted by two people at the flag, mowing them down, the Ghost comes in the other door and starts shooting at him, so I mash it to the stairs and drift. We teeter at the edge of the stairs, and I can see my friend's shields crackling.

After a second or two of wobbling, the hog grips the stairs and we slide up, turn right, and exit through the hole along with some confused spike grenades thrown by the other team, just as our team grab the flag. I may, at one point, have shouted, "This is fucking epic."

And then I hit the rock outside the hole, and flip it into the wall.
 
I spent today making Aspirate, a small asymmetric 4v4 objective map in the sky bubble. It's for Team Slayer, One Flag, One Bomb, Oddball, King of the Hill, or Territories.

Warning: it's pretty roughly made, with interlocking only when necessary, so your grenades will get stuck in gaps. But I think the spawns should be okay, and I put some effort into the objective locations and spawn regions. And more importantly, I think it should be fun!

Here are some screenshots:

This is the whole map from red base. I am standing in the initial spawn location, looking up at the level 3 flag platform. To the left is the rocket side, to the right is the mancannon side. Behind and to the right of the each bases is a sniper rifle. You can jump back up.

The mancannon is pretty much equally spaced from both bases, and takes you directly to the flag.

Once you've got the flag, you can either run down the ramp to red spawn, or jump down to the mancannon side. That route starts off fairly well-covered, but it's longer and has less cover towards the end.

Rocket side is the shortest and has decent cover, but there's a noticeably open spot at rocket spawn.

Rockets are the main weapon rush at the start, and are equally spaced between the spawns.

My file set has the map and some more screenshots. Would really like feedback on the map, suggestions on weapon placement, or people to play games with.

If you play flag, bomb, or ball, don't forget to set the objective reset to 10--15 seconds.

Not to look like a kiss ass but you sir are correct. But you could have put anything before The Watchmen and been correct, expect for The Golden Compass.

If the customs are still rolling in 30 minutes or so I'd like to be included in the festivities. A shame my Worship map won't be finished though. It's like a super sexy Warlock. "TheVeilrae" is my gamertag.

Correct. Sucky, overhyped movie.

On topic: Sandbox maps are starting to look amazing. Can't wait to see Beaver Creek and Ascention.
 
I'm not sure how you could recreate the hills or even the bases good enough for a BC remake, but what do I know about forging.

GAF Mythic customs was awesome. I think we played all the maps in this thread. I have never fallen to my death so many times before.

Naw I missed out. Oh well, next time maybe.

Worship is content complete and will work for Slayer and Capture the Flag. Will update in the future with other modes but at the moment I just want to play Halo and stop map making.

vhfive, do not be surprised if Bungie use your map in future Infection Playlists. It looks amazing.

I've dropped the complete remake idea, and gone for an inspiration type.
 
This is fucking pissing me off. The best fucking map never fucking shows up. It's always Orbital or spawn predictable Sandbox. Where is Assembly? This is by far one of the best maps out there and bungle has the probability factor set to .000001 fucking %

Whoops. Just discovered some Slayer mishaps in Worship. Here's the new link to Worship.

Played a series of game tonight in Mythic, 7 and Grifball. The number of people that dropped out was astounding. Really starting to drive me insane.

So I just figured out how to interlock objects that are on Sandbox when you boot it up. I wasn't sure if anyone had figured it out yet but it requires you to bend the interlocking rules a little bit. Not cheating, just doing it differently.

i spent almost 2.5 hours placing 4 corner walls - any tips on having items stay where you left them after their first save?
 
I'm in the process of capturing and uploading some of our Custom Game shenanigans from last night. The Pirates game would already be up except for the sound not being in sync from the Capture process :(

The 3v3v3 TS game on Mage v2 is here for anyone interested. Any other maps you wanna see me put up while I'm at it? Sanctum? Asspirate?

I lol'd when you threw a sticky at Sai-kun while he was standing still, only to have Dax come around the corner and walk right into it. :lol

The only advice I can give is to hit "Start New Round" until they stay in place. It seems completely random whether or not they even spawn in at the beginning or not. Pretty infuriating when you can't progress any further on a map until it decides to cooperate.

It was a good job Dax caught that one. It was gonna miss Sai Kun who was AFK (or lagging really bad) and not moving. That would have been embarrassing. :lol

Arr, yo ho ho

Oh god, don't put up the Aspirate 3v3v3 oddball game. Probably the worst gametype/map combination of the night. If anyone ever plays it in 4v4 or 5v5 I'd like to see the film, though.
