So about the bungie day Playlist. Do we all start with the same trueskill in that particular playlist? or do our existing ranks have any effect on it?

So basically, either I play with the usual crew, or I have to get a friend to play who sucks at halo.

Since it is a social playlist, I would imagine we will all start with zero EXP and the hidden trueskill of one. Bungie has said that the social matches do have a form of true skill, but haven't given specifics. They have also never said if overall rank plays into social MM at all when trying to find matches.
 
Good customs last night, but the post-2amness meant I was damn tired for the second half bunch of games.

I am Sick and Tired of ending up in a completely and unfairly weaker team. I know you might say i can't blame others for my bad performance in the game, and you're right; i am a completely average player, i don't have super skills or anything, but i'm sick of playing CTF games, protecting one entrance of the base, while in my HUD i see 3 teammates protecting the flag and thinking "well with 3 guys there, no one will steal the flag quick enough for me not to be able to go there and help them". 10 seconds later, the flag is stolen and none of my teammates is doing anything, they're not even looking at the flag. I'm tired of defending the flag on Standoff for a whole game and when i die ONCE, the flag gets stolen and the other team scores.
Playing with little kids that have no skill at all and that have no interest in completing the objective of the match.
I know the human factor is a huge factor, they might be level 40 or 50, but they're also kids and/or jerks that just want to ruin the fun for others.

In my opinion, the Level System is completely broken and unfair, it makes the matches frustrating and annoying.

Does anyone agree?

I've seen this too, on occasion (I often go in alone), but not every time.

If you're playing in a bigger list with a full team, it TRIES to match you up with a full team - but when it fails, it often doesn't do a very good job of pulling singles with even matches. (It seems to say "well, we couldn't find a whole team, so let's just grab the next 5/6/8 and call it good.")

So I'll often find myself in, say, social slayer, matched up against a team of 5 who are all brigs and generals (but maybe only with 30 or 40 experience points in the playlist), with a team of individuals, all ranked 25 or below (but with 40-50 experience points in the playlist). And we get WRECKED.

There are other times, though, that it works out really fairly. And I don't have a lot to complain about when I DO play with a group - we USUALLY get matched up with people who are either close to our rank, or below us. :D

No, I'm not from Limerick, live in Tralee (85 kilometres from Limerick). September to May I'm studying in University of Limerick though.
 
So. When the render to video feature was first announced a while back, I started saving up MP clips to render out. The past few days I've been going through my pile of clips, deciding which to render first, giving them proper names, etc. And I'm finding that I managed to save a whole tone of them with the wrong HUD setting turned on. Many of them saved with zero HUD visible at all, which makes the clips worthless since the HUD is crucial to understanding what happened. I've deleted about a half dozen of my favorite clips from the past year because of this.

Epic sad face. I'm sure it's my fault entirely, but it does seem like clips start with a different HUD setting than I had intended quite often. I really wish there was a way to re-record clips out of existing clips to fix stuff like that.

Minen sympathies. Did you delete the clips after rendering them before realising too? Not that having spent the rendering minutes isn't a balls either, of course it is.

I've been through Tralee a few times (born and live in Dublin).

Woah, did not know you where part of the tiny (buy powerful) Irish-gaf.

As for getting stabbed, the University is so far out of the city and is enclosed in it's campus mini-village that it never sees anything of the sort. Thankfully.

If my Xbox wasn't in a coffin right now, I'd boot it up and see. There's a matchmaking settings screen somewhere - I think it's X on the lobby screen, but I don't know offhand. If not, Start>Settings.

I've never thrown a controller in frustration before, but Gears of War online has made me come really fucking close. I seriously can't believe how a major studio like Epic can develop a game with the netcode akin to a shitty XBLA game. I feel like I'm playing Doom online with gravity hammers. If Halo 3 had Gears' netcode, THEN I could see the right to complain, but thank God it doesn't.

Yet here I am still playing GoW2 online. I've started to just use the chainsaw as much as possible because it seems to work much better than anything else.

For me, yes. I played some Rockets and Laser gametype in this weekend's Double XP hopper today and decided to turn it off after that. Three people on the opposite team quit and the gametype sucked. Great. :(

Oh, and it was 2v5 and we were losing halfway through. Randoms strike again!
 
It sure is a lot harder to find people to play with these days. I used to always have a friend's list full of people playing it was more of a matter as to whom to play with than playing at all. There isn't even an great alternative out these days yet people are rarely on. Maybe people are too busy enjoying summer. I haven't been online as much because of that but those times I am online, there's rarely a party going. Definitely wasn't like this last summer.

Last summer there wasn't much to play and we were all excited and getting prepared for PAX.

There's much more games out there now to play and we're nearing 2 years worth of MP. Some are a tad tired, to say the least, especially with the horrible MM updates that do nothing and the rehash of the same DBLEXP over and over again. 18+ months of Grifball gets tiring, ya know. :P

But ODST will bring us all back. FireFight + New H3 maps (MIDSHIP!!!!!) + New campaign goodness = reunion time.

But what business do you have playing H3 this upcoming week when BF1943 releases in three days? :D

And i don't know if it's my settings but sometimes it takes quite a while to find enough players for a match

I'm always on at night, which i assume is your afternoon, so if you ever want to play leave a comment here and we'll get a good party to have fun

:lol I wish that was true. We play very similarly to one another and usually end up doing just as well. Although I was carrying pretty hard in a lot of the SWAT games that we played.

I have only played a couple of SWAT games...lets play to my fifty and you can go up to a 46 then find a couple other guys to carry and BAM you get yours in a month or so.
 
Anyone want to try and get me to 45 in Team Slayer tonight? I might be able to make it but not certain.

EDIT: Or later afternoon after 2:30pm eastern
